Well the experiment that tree huggers and animal activists everywhere has finally ended in the lonely death of Keiko the killer whale. Pardon me for a bit while I rant.......
You dumb ass hippies!!! You took an animal that only knew captivity and decided to make it your grail to "reintroduce" him into the wild. You spent on average 500,000 dollars a month to try and teach him to fish, and were asking for more money even at the end. There is no question your intentions were valid, but you were doing what "you" wanted, not what was best for Keiko. His many attempts at searching out and finding human companionship were in turn banned by you in the "best interest" of your little experiment. I take as evidence a quote from a news artical about Keiko...Keiko was released from Iceland in July 2002, but he swam straight for Norway on a 870-mile trek that seemed to be a search for human companionship.
He first turned up near the village of Halsa in late August or early September of 2002. There, he allowed fans to pet and play with him, even crawl on his back, becoming such an attraction that animal protection authorities imposed a ban on approaching him.
I know, "it's just a killer whale", but it seems like such a waste. Keiko could have come here to SFMW, we have plenty of space.
sorry about the rant, but i just got fed up. -

that is really sad that some people could not see what was bound to happen...
what they did would be like me putting my indoor dog out in the middle of the forest and leaving him there... -

Nah. i'd rather be the aliens that control us all. [/paranoia]would you rather be human, or be doomed to be controlled by a human?

have you guys seen what killer whales do to poor ignorant baby seals, though? i wish more of those heartless fuckers would get beached. or, i wished that, once a year, they beach themselves on purpose to surprise PETA members and devour them like they would the ignorant baby seals.

Yeah. An army of super pissed Sea Creatures attacking a group of dumbass animal "lovers".
There are many people who DO help animals. But Keiko's death is a prime example of naturists erm... well.... making an example!
Heard about Marradona (sp?) the ex-greatest footballer alive. He was sent to prison or something for in-toxicating a monkey. In moron terms: Getting a monkey pissed! almost as bad as the guy who got his dog stoned, oh well, i see it as generosity! -

There's nothing wrong with being an environmentalist and wanting to save forests and help animals. It's when you get fanatical and radical and irrational about it (*cough* PETA *cough*) that sucks.
For example, the SoCal wildfires were, in part, fueled by thousands of dead trees that were prohibited from being cut down due to certain environmental laws. YOU CAN'T SAVE DEAD TREES.
So yeah, save the Earth, but don't be an idiot while doing so.
