I just bought 2 of their albums. I love their music.
What do you guys think about them? -

They are a worthless piece of shit.
They do pseudo-gothic chart music. I hate all goths. Either real ones or wannabes, I don't mind.
Their music is utterly cheap and all songs sound the same. Then, there's Ville Valo, or however he's spelled. No voice and no good looks as everyone claims.
They can just go straight to hell. They'd probably even want that, hah. -

Ok... "theforceofg2003" HIM dont scream and shout. Quite the opposite and they are no way one hit wonders. They've released 4 albums, all quality might I add IMO.
But yes.... [Spunge] do suck! -

I liked that "Roots" song by them. What ever happened to [Spunge]?[spunge] are cool, dudes. Skanktastic.
I couldn't stand "Jump on Demand." Gah! Trashy pop interpratation of ska.
If you like ska, listen to CapDown. best ska-punk band EVER! -

Farse are ok IMO.
Have you heard Flogging Molly? They kick ass. My friend tried to classify them. "ska-folk-punk-irish" etc. theres no point in this labelling madness! Its the music that counts.
Oh yeah Madness. They were a great ska band. -

HIM are overated.
Distinctly Average.
What have they done that is new or interesting? Nothing that I can see.

In terms of Irish punk, Flogging Molly has nothing on the Dropkick Murphys. NOTHING. Shamrock'n'roll forever.Have you heard Flogging Molly? They kick ass. My friend tried to classify them. "ska-folk-punk-irish" etc. theres no point in this labelling madness! Its the music that counts.

Yes...they were there in the beginning afterall...can't argue with the innovators...
Does HIM sound anything like more common bands that I know, or totally different?

Right, here we go...
Firstly, let me say outright that, generally, i don't like "punk" music. I like HIM. In my opinion, they are both musically talented, and the lead singer has a relatively good voice. That is not to say that i listen to HIM a lot. On the contrary. I have downloaded a couple of songs, that's all. But what i have heard, i have liked.
Don't say that HIM are like "all the other bands that just scream and shout". If you would bother to look past the gothic front that they put on, (which i really don't see the point of...), and listen properly to the music, some of it is wonderful.
Mantis, i recommend downloading "Right Here In My Arms" and "Burried Alive By Love". -

"Beyond Redemption" is a great song. You should also listen to "The Path", another HIM marvel.
