Here is my opinion: great directors should stop making these stupid super-hero movies. Only Tim Burton was able to get it right, the others are just wasting their talent. They all try to make their movies better than the average super-hero movie, but it just doesn't work.

A super-hero movie needs somebody who can take crap, and make it entertaining - not somebody who takes crap, and tries to make it better than crap.

Once people learn that, then I think I'll start watching super-hero movies again, and once Sam Raimi and Ang Lee and the rest go back to making high-quality works of cinematic genius (or Sam just makes another big, bloody, stupid, and kick-ass movie), then I might regain some long-lost faith in Hollywood.

As it is though, this movie will suck ass. Tobey Maguire just makes it worse...

Tim Burton gets everything right. Except Planet of the Apes. Well, I haven't seen it. But I have little hope for a movie with talking monkeys - and that's just Mark Wahlberg!

Tobey McGuire (sp?) is a good actor. He played his part in Spiderman very well, and his part in Sea Biscuit was some of the best (or better) acting I've seen. Spiderman 2 will be great, too, I hope. (Doc Oc... yay.)

Oh, and just given the way you said that about him, for the record, guys like Orlando Bloom and Josh Hartnett are pretty good actors, too.

First was disappointing. It started off very well, but as soon as it became Spidey vs Green Goblin, it turned into an episode of Power Rangers. Worst fight choreography ever.

I have only seen the teaser so far. I think it's the same worldwide. You know, where they sit in the café and all this "it's just one kiss" shit-talk is going on when suddenly the car crashes through the window.
From that, I must say I'm very disappointed. I found the actors did a horrible job and the dialogue was boring and sad at once. It was too based on the special effect. Typically Hollywood. Really nothing for me. Maybe entertaining for the most but nothing I'm looking for in a movie.

Spiderman 2? I didn't kow they were releasing a sequel - I must've been living in a hole.

I hate how they're releasing sequels to good movies - WHY CAN'T THEY JUST LET THEM BE???

because Spider-Man comics never ended, making them really great movie's which can be reprised by the media over and over again.

I don't understand why you guys thought it was such crap, either you got too excited about the movie that your hopes weren't made.
I think they did an excellent job, for a super-hero movie, i saw it 6 times while it was in theaters. Green Goblin was realistic, its way better than some really really bad CGI talking Goblin, no matter how realsitic the green goblin would look it, i would'nt of bought it.

and talking about the Power Ranger fighting, what did you expect, its a guy who has spider powers in a wet suit, running around in super strength and agility, against mad maniac who wears a Goblin mask.

I thought they did a great job, i also think that Tobey Meguire is an excellent actor, as well as Alfred Molina one of UK's most under-estamated actors, go on yahoo and see the roles he's played in.
If you want to see them do some actual acting watch these two movies
