We all know Stealth goin to Carowinds, but the name has been confirmed and it is the Crappiest name for a coaster EVER!
From Carowinds Connection (both article and logo)
Charlotte, N.C. (January 15, 2004) – For centuries, man has searched the heavens, seeking proof of other forms of life and wondering when they will make first contact with our planet.
That time is now. They are not friendly. They are BORG.
Paramount ’s Carowinds introduces BORG Assimilator, a multi-million dollar flying roller coaster that combines a deep space adventure with state-of-the art attraction technology. Nearly 40 years after the introduction of one of the most popular television franchises of all time, BORG Assimilator emerges as the first roller coaster in the world to feature a theme from the Star Trek universe. The attraction opens to the public this spring.
The BORG Collective is an immensely powerful group of cybernetically enhanced beings that gain knowledge and technology by absorbing other species. They are infamous throughout the Star Trek universe as the most dangerous, insidious and unstoppable alien threat to mankind.
Warping to our time period through a rift in the space-time continuum, the BORG crash-landed in the middle of Paramount ’s Carowinds and their ship – a giant gray and black sphere – has come to rest near the park’s new flying roller coaster.
The BORG Collective beckons riders across the landscape of the island and into the loading station. Once inside, guests board 24-passenger coaster trains and are rotated backward to a reclining position before beginning their ascent to the top of a 115-foot, 30-degree lift hill. Anticipation builds as the coaster crests the lift hill, inverts and turns guests facedown, suspending them below the track in a superhero-like flying position and racing toward the ground at speeds of up to 50 m.p.h.
Through 2,781 feet of curves, drops and sweeping turns, riders tour the crash site where the BORG sphere – made up of a web-like structure of inhuman, biomechanical parts – sits at the end of a blackened, charred path of destruction. The beginning of the BORG takeover is evident as the coaster’s track, queue line and loading station appear in an ominous gray, black and green.
“There’s only one chance to be the first, so we feel especially honored to be the first theme park in the world to have a roller coaster that carries the Star Trek brand,†said Dale Kaetzel, vice president of marketing & assistant general manager of Paramount ’s Carowinds. “BORG Assimilator gives our guests a unique opportunity – to experience the sensations of free flight without the traditional boundaries of a roller coaster. As you look out over the park, you get a virtually unobstructed view of the landscape, and you are continually surprised at where the experience takes you.â€
BORG Assimilator is Paramount ’s Carowinds’ 12th roller coaster and represents another multi-million dollar investment in new attractions at the theme park. Designed by Vekoma International of the Netherlands , the coaster is the tallest in the park and includes eight inversions – more than any other roller coaster in the Southeast.

Heh heh...
I don't get why they dismantled and moved a 3-year-old ride to begin with.
But...Borg Assimilator? Wow. That is ridiculous on Six Flags' level. But at least the Trekkies will have something to look at, assuming their mothers ride with them at least. -

BORG Assimilator...
That name is about as boring as some of the wild mouse coaster names such as: Wild Mouse, Spinning Mouse(forgot where I heard that one), and some others I belive. No thought or creativty put into the name.
Eh i'm sure the coaster will be good considering this is Stealth with a diffrent name, theme, and possibly a new paint job I would hope for this theme. Now I just need to find a way to PCW when this goes up so I can ride Stealth... I mean BORG Asimilator. -

hey its not as bad as naming your ride "Quick Turn!" as that WildMouse ride in Nasu Highlands park in Japan.
the logo looks decent. the name sucks. they could of just kept it BORG.
seeing they want to go into that theme. plus i never thought Star Trek theme was good to be a coaster. only simulators.
but whatever.
BORG would of just sounded fine. -

Who cares about the name! It's the only flying coaster within a 3 hour range from me! -

PC, no W. Big difference, like Canadian bacon and bacon. It's like that. And the coaster is painted black and green. (Black spine and ties, green rails)Now I just need to find a way to PCW when this goes up so I can ride Stealth... I mean BORG Asimilator.

granted the name is curious, but look at the fact that they are actualy themeing this coaster. They are placeing a "BORG" crashed ship right by the attraction and themeing the station as well. Don't knock this coaster until it's done. Stealth was a stupid ass name as well, they should have gone with the first choice "Mission Impossible". Congrats to carowinds, hopefully they will make this ride worth the huge wait times you sure to experiance. -

Somehow I have a hard time imagining this...
"Hey, let's go on Vortex. It's right here."
"No man, you have to ride BORG ASSIMILATOR! It's the best!"
I mean, what are they gonna call it for short? Borg? Sounds more like a spin'n'puke ride. -

Yes, some of the ride is placed over water, so it should be a bit more exciting than just, well, land.granted the name is curious, but look at the fact that they are actualy themeing this coaster. You have got to be kidding me. I think this "BORG Assimilator" crap just has too much creativity put into it. A good coaster has a nice, simple, powerful name, along with a bit of originality.
Yeah, "Stealth" should have stayed. That was actually a wonderful name IMO..... unless of course you ar'nt familiar with the Stealth fighter plane it is themed after. Then it might seem wierd. I think BORG Assimilator would be an allright name for a smaller ride..... maybe a 3D, but naming the biggest coaster in your park something like that........ really makes you wonder just what they were thinking when comming up with that.
The "Superman Ultimate Flight" and various other Six Flags clone names remain the worst titles in the industry for me though.
