Here is my recreation of Shockwave @ Drayton Manor. IT IS NOT COMPLETE. I still have to do the station and I think that I have to work with the layout a bit. If someone can help me out on what to do to make it look better. This is my first recreation that I have worked on. Thanks.

^I think the screen kinda drives that point home^....anyway, it looks like you are rushing your screens, I mean I could build something like that in under 5 mins. I would slow it down. Dont worry so much about the layout, but more on theming, building and landscaping. Layouts are important, but the other skills are more fundamental to parkmaking...keep trying!

The layout was easy. I will be taking my time on the themeing and station and stuff. The theming is what really counts.

I have no idea what the real coaster looks like, but that layout in itself isn't very good-looking.

Ok, it looks all very nice and all that, but it's just a coaster!!! I think that when you're starting a new park, you need to work out stuff more methodically, you should do the entrance plaza first, then work out divisions into your different zones. You can't just build a coaster and build a park around that (well you can but you've gotta be very good). Concentrate on your archy more, that's what matters. Coasters are piss easy to build, it's the theming you need to work on more.

It actually does look like that (since i live near the park) its quite crap really but it does contain the only barrel roll on a stand up coaster

    lol

Thats not even the layout... there's a slight turn after the barrel roll before the corks, and the turn into the breaks isn't right.

    Lol, I find it...n00by

I hope that isn't what it looks like.

Your first drop is wrong... it doesn't slant all the way down. http://rcdb.com/inst...4.htm?Picture=6
It does a B&M-style dip, turnaround and then it goes into the main drop.

To all of you who are saying it's 'noobish' that's what the ride actually looks like, sadly enough!

Just a few things though, the barrel roll is waaay too close to the station, i can't tell whether you've added the small dip before the lift hill, and the entire ride needs to be raised up. It never touches the ground, and should be about 3 units high before the barrel roll. Of course, the last section cannot be helped.

Oh, and the station is too short.

BTW, have they actually painted it blue now? I can't wait to go and see it this year :)

Geez.. that's gotta be the worst BeeMer I've ever seen, though that's probably Drayton's fault.

Then do not post a screenshot of it.

I am trying to see what people that have been there say about the layout. I need help with that sinci I live a CA. They have painted it half blue and the other half the way it was before. I have also heard at many different sites at how the drop is. "It's how you have it and then it goes steep" I had that. "No, it's like he has it and then steep up to the barrel roll". From all the pics that I have seen it is the way I have it. They can't change the ride to a different way in that short amount of time since the pic was taken.

I'd say you've got the gradients spot on, but the loop needs to come up off the ground a bit, since there are River Rapids running underneath the ride! There also needs to be a small straightening at the top of the lift hill. Here are some good reference photos:

    Loop and lift gradients

The first drop and loop nearly in full

    The lift hill in full

I'm off to make one of my own now :)

Me too! It sure hurts your left shoulder. Ouch.

Apocalypse, however, is one of the best rides i've ever been on.

What is the gradients spot? I don't get it.

People can say that this is a nOOby recreation all they want but I will still try to make this the best recreation I can. I can try to improve upon it though.
