RCT Discussion / Horse running on dirt path!

    Hi there,
I'm building a Rodeo-Arena for FOK and wanted a horse to run there from a hutch and return to it. The Arena is filled with 'dirt-path' so that its one area. I lowered the ground down one RCT-unit and build a BM U-Turn inside. Then I enabled 'Zero All Clearances' and rebuilt the path over it ( of course the edge pathes touch the ground )
The ride for the horse is a rapid river which I merged into the BM U-Turn in order to lift the vehicle a little more. This didn't work as I hoped it would... The horse isn't fully visible :(
Could someone help me with this?

hmm...thats odd that sounds like it should work. Um i dont really kno wat to say maybe...just go with the SONY method and blend the track in with the path...it works

this should work i thought but just use the normal horse track underneath the path.

Actually now I'm thinking about it theres another way I think (if i remember it ill edit this post)

It doesn't work cos path is .1 higher than ground level.
Lower the path and the horse will show but no path.
Raise track and the path will show but the track will error trapper.

Only way to get it to work is quickly build the path throught the coaster (both on ground level) like in DBW and other parades.

    i know a way...

anybody remember Gazza's anti-grav coaster? i guess im the only one...

    1. build an invert or SLC station.
    2. merge it with any kind of track you want as long as the train rides on top of the track (i.e. steel twister, steel, steel corkscrew, etc.). for the explanation, ill use steel.
    3. complete the circuit any way you want it and merge the steel back onto the station of the invert.
    4. change the car on the invert to the Horses, and set to powered launch mode.
    5. then place the path ONE height level above the track

it should be what your looking for if you do it right. if you cant get it, send it to me.

I remember the anti-grav coaster. That was one hot piece of work.

nice idea..the only problem is that the anti gravity coaster is running 2 places above track instead of the 1 which a rapids gives. How would that help?

You could have a floating horse above the path (1 space) but it wont run on path because of the .1 on the path.

Great!! Thank You very much, thats exactly how I wanted it to ^_^
    It looks cool now.
to PRP: 2 places were necessary cos of the path which is already 1 above the ground ;)

    Anyway,
this problem is solved, thank you very much.

so it floats 2 above ground and 1 above the path?

if so thens thats gonna look strange
  • Turtle%s's Photo
@RRP - it floats 1 above the track, and on the path, as the path is also 1 above the track.

RRP, it looks alright. ive been messing around with it for ages. it actuallty looks alot better and alot less glitchy than the SONY method, and it works with land as well as pathes.

another thing i figured out- if you place two peices of strait track in diferent directions on one tile (looks like a '+'), the train crosses over onto the other track. it works on vertical track as well...
