Change the path and the bare entrance/exits... the landscaping needs some work as well, look at some spotlight parks to pick up some ideas. The rest is decent though, if you work at it I think you could get somewhere eventually.

I would just keep on doing what you've been doing, cause it looks great.

deano pretty much covered it. My issues:

    1. The paths. They blend too much with the surrounding land type.
    2. The ride entrance / exit bldgs look out of place for the theme
    3. Color, or lack thereof.
    4. Landscaping, or lack thereof

You're missing a roof structure on top of that building with the sphinxes on it. Other than that, it looks ok.

1.The paths are all dirt/bown now
2.entrances/exits are canvas if theyre not covered by something
3.color im trying hard to make it colorful
4.is landscaping land height changes becasue theres hills and stuff and holes. If landscaping means plants there arent many. Its egypt, a desert. all the plants are near the river.

Wrong! Plenty of shrubs and small plants can be seen across the desert! ;)

Jkay pretty much sumed my complaints up. Also, I would check out AustinPower's Roman Epic topic, he has some kick ass screens of his Egypt area, I think studying them would really help you out.

I still got the same complaints Jkay mentioned except the paths are much better. Although I see an improvement which is good. Please get rid of that wood object, it looks out of place and ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb.

Nice job! You really show a lot of great creativity, and your park has quite a bit of style. I can't wait to see more.

    Keep it up!

I wish you guys would stop telling people how to build their parks. There's a difference between giving somebody advice and giving them a list of things to change. And while I think looking at other people's parks, particularly spotlights, can be good inspiration to expand your own parkmaking, it can also lead to everyone building the same way. You're not going to get better at landscaping or architecture by looking at someone else's park and copying what they did. You've got to keep working at it until it becomes easier. Look at other parks for inspiration of course, but don't expect it to magically make you better. You have to work at that. Just keep building and building and you will get better. Not every park should be a spotlight, if that were the case, who would even care about them? It's okay if you aren't the best of the best. If you're still playing the game in two years, then you may be ready for a spotlight. You have to earn it first. The same goes for parkmaker spots or contests. That's what I want to say to every new parkmaker that comes here and posts screens for the first time. It's true that people here have high standards, but that should give you something to aspire to rather than something to get upset about. And if it seems sometimes that people aren't being very respectful, well that's just the nature of the internet. You take the bad with the good. I thought your first screens looked great DeDevil, you really didn't need to change anything. Just build what you want to build. Sometimes I think people confuse the popular way with the right way. Just remember that it's your park, and you can do whatever you want with it, no matter what people say.

Thats a very well put argument Coaster Ed, but heres my counter-argument.

When people post screens of their park in the Ad District, that tells me that they are looking for comments about what we, the NE community, like / dislike about the park. So I give them what they asked for; Some people like the park, others dont, and my list above is what I dont like about this park. By no means am I telling DeDevil how to build the park, but more as suggestions based on my knowledge of what makes a good themepark. Its the same thing I explained in NC's Port of Alas topic; If people dont want their park to be criticised, then why post screens? There would be no point in having the Ad District or albeit this entire website if everyone built parks only for themselves. Its gauranteed that someone will not like your park and will say something bad about it, which is exactly what I did in this topic, so deal with it and move on, its not the end of the world. It all boils down to being able to accept constructive criticism and knowing the difference between good and bad criticism. If a parkmaker cannot accept constructive criticism, then they shouldnt post in the Ad District, no way around it. The Ad District should be used to get some help and support along the way, not for praise on every comment. So Ed, for the most part you're correct in saying 'build your parks for yourself, not others', but its also not fair for you to say that I'm telling DeDevil how to build his park.

There aren't giant B&M's there either.

I like that terrain go-kart ride. I think it would look cooler if you made it a little longer and more spread out though.. more like an adventure ride.. have it go through/under waterfalls.. around pyramids.. etc, and see how it turns out.

I can take all criticisism. If someone want to tell me how to build a park i keep there suggestion in mind while im building but im not going to go out of my way to do what they said. Like color while im building a building im gonna add some color and be awhare about the color while building but im not going to add a colorful building when all the buldings are done because i need more color. Hope that made sense ???

Jacko Shanty i was going to do that but i dont have much space might move the gokarts in to another space with more room.

JKay, there's a difference between offering criticism (which you do) and saying things like 'ditch the flowers' or 'get rid of that path'. The tone of the majority of posts in the Ad district lately is unfortunately the latter and not the former. Constructive criticism is always acceptable. If you explain why you don't like something and why you think something else may look better. The majority of 'suggestions' offered lately amount to no more than spam which is on the other end of the 'looks great' spectrum. Phrases like 'needs more color' or 'crappy tree selection' offer the parkmaker nothing that will improve the park.
