Park Wars / UPDATE ON BUYING LAND

I am eliminating the option to buy a second map.

If you would like to expand, you must buy new land in a new city. You can also purchase a new map in the same city, and make it some sort of resort map, but you must realize that when voting comes, the two maps will be separate.

so when the votes come in, can they be put together? for the entire resort/chain

No they can't.
This was done to prevent really unfair voting.

But the points are still pooled, right? So you can use em for either park?
