We are proud to announce the first Rct3 Resource center out there.

There is a preview and Libary of everything we have seen. What is the competition?
The ultimate RCT3 Competition is basically that. We will pre-order a copy of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 to the person that sends the best RCT3 Essay to us.

What we will look for: The Essay must cover all aspects of the new game and must not be copied from a website. It must be written in your own words and well presented either in a word document or a PDF file. You can choose how you wish to present it (whether it be screenshots or clipart). It must be well written and formatted properly. New ideas, in depth description and research will be seen as a distinct advantage.

1st Place Prize: The best entry will receive a pre-ordered copy of RCT 3, essay featured on RCT3: R.C and get a free website to display their essay and make an rct3 site eg (no1essay.rct3rc.com).
2nd Place Prize: The 2nd best entry will have the essay featured on RCT3: R.C and get a free website to display their essay and make an rct3 site eg (no2essay.rct3rc.com).
3rd Place Prixe: The 3rd best entry will have the essay featured on RCT3: R.C

What are the rules?
- Must be in MS Word or PDF Format
- Must not be copied from websites
- Candidate must be 13 years of age or older
- Must be at least 500 words (1000 will be seen as a distinct advantage)

When is it due in and how do I send it?
All entries must be in by the end of September 2004. The winners will be announced on the 1st of october!.

In the email you must include your: full name, full address (including post/zip code and country for shipping the game) and a working email address.

I gotta say i'm tempted, but i'm not sure if it'd work to the UK or whether i'll have time or knowledge. We'll see.

This seems so very vague... what aspects? All of it? The rides?

It seems ever so slightly rushed.

Is it just me, or does writing an essay about a game that hasn't been released yet to win a free copy of that same game seem kinda strange?

I'm with Nic; This whole contest just seems rushed. It find it slightly pointless to write a review about a game you can't play yet (except for the demo, which isn't really enough).

LMAO... essay? Sounds about as useful as a Poetry.com contest!

Shit. I would rather pay for it than write a damn essay. I do enough of that shit at school.

My opinion of the set-up was: if it's gonna be that lax about content and whatever, then why the hell not. It'd only take a few minutes (seriously 500 words is not a lot) and you might get a free copy of the game out of it. And at this rate there'll be no competition anyway so whoever enters wins.

I hope it's not a competition just to get people to get in the site, when in fact, there is no intention to ever give anybody a prize at all. Nevertheless, I see why this compo has been done; to get more visitors to a new site. And yes, new site owners are always more than happy to dish out £30 to get visitors...
I'm gonna give it a go anyway. Might as well.

The best essay was the 3rd placed one, followed by the 2nd. The one which won was the worst of the three by far.



Take this from the 3rd placed one.

   After researching for more information about ‘Roller Coaster Tycoon 3’, I discovered that ‘RCT3’ was going to be an enormous step up from RCT2 to RCT3.  When RCT2 came out, very few new things were introduced and many people said that they preferred RCT1!  However, one successful thing about RCT2 was that it included more tools including the ‘Roller Coaster Designer’, ‘Track manager’ and the most popular, ‘Scenario Editor’.  However, from what I have found out about RCT3, it seems to have a lot more than both other versions and their expansion packs.

That’s right Chris Sawyer has once again expanded the limits of games and once again marked his place in gaming history. Roller coaster tycoon 3 is the next generation in roller coaster video games. It features a full 3D view not featured in previous roller coaster tycoon games. It features one of the most wanted aspects of the genre. Coaster cam. Coaster cam is full 3D views from the perspective of a guest riding any ride in you’re park. Even the most extreme coasters are ride able giving the gamer a whole new way to enjoy the rides

The 1st placed one doesn't seem to be able to use commas. At all. Not to mention the double "it".
