I'm happy to announce that the first map of Phase III is ready for release. This map of the second parking facility for the Marriott Resort brings us closer to the grand opening of the Marriott's NASCAR Experience and is designed to directly support the parking needs for both MNE and TF (Target Fields).

You will also notice that the trams also support the Marriott Motor Speedway which will be located next to the left (as you open the map).

Once again, a big thanks to geewhzzzz for the road objects. This was really what helped pull it all together.

As with most of my parks, I fully expect the very hit or miss comments but I do hope you enjoy it

    Thanks
    James - rctnw

It will be interesting to see if anyone notices where the inspiration for the map originated from.

Sweetness! Who knew a parking facility could look so good?

And you still have a couple large areas of space to work with. Any plans?

This was amazing! The amount of planning you must have put into it is really impressive. I loved the trams whizzing about everywhere. Congratulations on making a car park look interesting haha!

Brent – I ‘m not sure that is the complete object pack as I removed the unused objects before posting it. Let me know and I’ll send you one of the earlier maps

Cena – Thanks. Glad you liked it

FullMetal – Not really sure as they are not really accessible so putting something there is not in the immediate plans However, there could be some expansion opportunities for both MGA and MMW

Xophe – Thanks and yes, the planning took much more time than I had anticipated.

I’m still curious to know if anyone knows where the inspiration for this came from.

This whole project is probably the most incredible thing ever done with RCT.

This is amazing, in an insane sort of way. It's just a massive parking lot - which really shouldn't be interesting - yet, it so IS! I don't know how you pulled it off that well; there's so many great details, which would have taken ages to make, especially as you're constructing something which many would deem to be 'boring'. But looking at the map, it's not at all boring - thanks to how well you pulled this off. Great stuff.

    Thanks guys.

eyeamthu1 - Thanks your right. Most would see this as very boring however for me, as I've said before, building these is a form of relaxation for me Strange as that sounds, believe it or not, designing roller coasters is far more stressful for me. The problem I have with roller coaster designs is that I can’t build a coaster to the vision I have in my mind where as I can build just about anything I have in mind with regards to buildings/structures like this. Yes I have some limitations however I can accept the compromises I make to structures where I don’t like the compromises with coasters. Because I have such a clear vision of these structures, building is nothing more than placing objects with little too no thought as to how it will look. It just happens. I think I’m the only person (or one of a very few) that actually gets more enjoyment building/looking at this stuff than actual parks. As you know, this project (when Phase III is finished) will have 10 completed maps and only 3 will be the typical amusement park map. Hell, even phase IV will bring three new maps to the project, but (sad news to most of the community) will not include an amusement park. I really wish I could build parks like 5dave, CP6, Metro, turtle, Iceman & geewhzzzz (to name a small few) as they make it look so effortless.

    Again, thanks

Whoah, slow down. Phase VI[6]? Don't you mean phase IV[4]? I just want to be sure I'm reading this right.

But again, great parking lot. :mantis:

You' don't have it that bad, RCTNW, because you have the ability to be precise and give your work definite order. I'm not capable of easily making a good coaster either, since I have a tendency to produce maddeningly abstract intuitive works and the coasters and landscape just keep getting in the way. Every time I play the game, I feel like making something completely different and the more I hold back on my impulses, the more they surface in some other odd way. Fifteen minutes into building a park, and reality suddenly flies out the window, and I produce works that are odd yet somehow believable in a way which only makes them more maddening. Everything I start eventually becomes more and more surreal over time as I completely lose interest in what I was doing before, and I'd just like to make a nice cozy tourist village without any fancy colors. Why do I have to play the pscyho clown?
