RCT Discussion / Analysis of designs by type of coaster over the past few years

    Quick look

B&M's are far and out the most popular and diverse type used, 17 B&M sitdown type rides, which includes Floorless and Wingrider coasters. Highlights here include Vulture, Mayra, Kumba, Fenrir, and a couple of Roomie's more fantasy like layouts. 12 B&M Inverts, 6 B&M Flyers, 5 Dive Machines (This includes BG's inverted diver), 4 Hypers (If you include Roomie's Knights of the Round Table) and 1 standup.

Wooden Coasters prove quite popular as well. 10 we're GCI style, 3 CCI/GG style, 10 were other styles, some Intamins, fantasy layouts, classic woodies, duelers, etc.

Intamin's launched style coasters prove quite popular, 9 launched coasters (some could have been Macks), 1 Hyper (Steel), 1 Looper (Tomb Raider) and 2 wooden ones.

Arrow brought in a few, 3 loopers, 1 hyper (Ghostliner) and 1 Swinger (Skyliner)

A couple of Eurofighters, Ilmenite & Mediteraneo

Vekoma has Indiana Jones, Inyoni (Flyer), and perhaps Djinn (Not sure what it is)

Two water based rides, Python and Journey to Atlantis

    S&S has Ruishi

    Schwarzkopf has Ethearel

Swoon and War of the Worlds are... not really classifiable.

Some rides types that seems oddly missing include Rocky Mountain Construction woodies, S&S 4d coasters, there is no launched B&M wingrider, no types of Premier coasters, no strata Intamins, no Giovanolas, a Polarcoaster, Bobsleds, Morgans, Intamin Inverts,

Some types that are underrepresented are hypers of all sorts, Schwarzkopfs of all types, Eurofighters, most all Vekoma types, S&S's.

There should be another Arrow Hyper in about 1 months time... Maybe I'll look into something like a Giovanolas or a Bobsled for the future, Bobsleds have a lot of potential.

    Welp

Haha. I should probably update that file, if I even still have it.

Shame, Gerstlauer and Mack aren't used too often, but I do believe their coaster types are hard to do perfectly in the game.

How far back are you going? Because I know Steve made a schwarzkopf also [Wildcat].

Like Stoksy said you mist some coasters.

You should put this in an excel sheet and maybe produce some graphs as well. I love pointless statistics!

One of my LL inverts that you've possibly put down as B&M was Giovonola.

I stopped about 9 pages in in 2008.

I´ve built two RMC Woodies in parks until now (Riverside and Inselfieber), but as you´re counting only the designs they wont show up here of course.

Has someone else been using RMC woodies in parks yet? I think I remember me being the first to do one, but I´m not sure about that.

Im in process of building a RMC Woodie

Pac fooled around with a RMC layout but never did anything with it.  It's really difficult to get correct.

  • inthemanual%s's Photo

    I've an incomplete RMC too

  • Austin55%s's Photo

Same as well. They are strange for sure, nearly impossible in RCT.

  • PizzaWurscht%s's Photo

hacking some tracks works relativly well, but 90° turns and other shit are still impossible

The world needs more (uncloned) SLCs.

http://i.imgur.com/qW1qvoal.jpg I once made a clusterfuck of an RMC woodie, too bad it sucks :p

IMO the difference between a b&m and a giovonola is pretty insignificant
