  • Well, having been a fan of all the books (though I can't remember a single thing in the slightest, besides reepacheep(sp?)), I thouroughly enjoyed the movies, close to the books as they are. Unfortunatley, I come from a family where we tear movies to the bones for even the slightest flaws (like why the all hid in the wardrobe at one time. It was supposed to be that women leading a tour through the house, not them having broke something.) We found any flaw, no matter how small. Or at least we tried...

Anyways, I thought that the movie was done very nicely, with few things that could be changed/improved. If nothing else could be said, they were better than the older movies. (not saying much, those movies were absolute s**t.)

The music was excellent, went very well with the movie. The cinematography was also excellent, especially of the train. Though that may be just because I liked the train.

All in all, a very good job done.
    8.5/10
  • i used to play it until a short while ago. now i have absolutley no clue how i stood it in the slightest.

oh, and i sold my account to some of my friends for 40 bucks. bwahahahaha.

    ...yeah...
  • They had Grawp in the 5th book, and when we learn about Grawp we learn about what Hagrid and the Beauxbaton's (Pretty Wands) headmistresses did in the mountains.

okay, now im just confused... i thought that was the sixth book? or maybe im justing thinking everything one back... most likely that. (i just went and asked my family and cleared things up. yeah it was the fifth book.)

anywho, yes i know that they cant put every little thing in the movie, but it just could have been done better. at least, personally it could have.
  • are you sure? i thought it was in the fourth...

then again, i havent read either the fourth or fifth in a long time, so...
  • I personally feel that this movie was much better than the third one, at least in being true to the book (my family is huge on Harry Potter, my sister was almost crieng at the end of the third one they screwed it up so bad).

There was still quite a few problems with the movie no doubt, my main problem being with the maze. Who cares about a whole bunch of vicious hedges? I want to see some blast ended skrewts!!!!

As far as the romance goes, it wasn't very good... Hermoine jumping through the tent and hugging Harry before the first task? I mean, wtf? Also, it would have been nice if they included the Beaubaton instructer woman (cant remember the name at the sec...) getting angry at Hagrid when he brings up the subject of him being a half-giant. That plays a pretty big role in the 6th book when Hagrid and her go looking for the giants in the mountains

One other thing for the moment, and thats Rita Skeeter. She was very well done, but they forgot the fact that she was an unregistered animagus.

One last thing: The dursleys. I know that theyre not everyones favorite people, most definetley not so, but the scene in the book where the weasleys use floo powder to randomly show up in the dersleys living room was one of the funniest parts in the book. I was rather annoyed that they took that part out, but hey.

Okay... enough ranting for now. Yes, most of those were small insignificant details, but details are what make movies, books, and pretty much anything good.
