It was the perfect park, perfecting themes that have been used countless times before, but missed something. It just didn't have that certain something that elevates it to my number one park of all time. It could have been the lack of new, original ideas and coaster designs, but it also could have been something else....I'm not quite sure.

    Good job, anyhow, Fatha'!

Since I can play RCT again I just looked at TH for the first time today (finally) and it was great work. The coaster selection especially is better than any other park IMO. You have the first liquid coaster to really impress me more than the original (Skull Mountain) along with a terrific mine ride, one of the best flowing floorless I've ever seen, a fun adventure coaster, and a B&M flyer I actually like. Maybe I forgot something but all in all the rides in this park are second to none. The themed areas aren't especially new, but I love how the egyptian section in particular encorporates the rides and river into a nice layout which moves beyond the typical. Theming wise I felt like it was a little flat. Everything does look well detailed but you seem to use the same basic theming template for every section which gets a little monotonous. Every one of these coasters deserve a spot in the RCT hall of fame but the park itself is still a step behind DDI to my eyes.

There was another side issue that I would have mentioned earlier if I had been readingthis forum. Natelox, you said The archiceture was amazing, nearing elrocko's ability (most will say you are better, but not IMO). I don't want to pick on Elrocko or anything but your not the only one to praise his architectural skills and I never really thought his architecture style was in any way exceptional. Actually it represents the exact opposite of what I think is good architecture so I'm curious why you (and I know you're not the only one) would single him out as the best.

Since I've been working on it for the spotlight deathmatch, some thoughts:

The awesomeness of the park as a whole is fairly undeniable. The layouts are incredibly strong and the way the park is filled out is exceptional in almost every way- but the praises of this park have been pretty well covered. I have one major problem with it, and that is that it just seems to have been filled in with trees. Not in a "oops, out of ideas, tree filler" kind of way, but in a "the theming is trees." kind of way. Some places that probably should/could have been left treeless were assigned a random tile surface that matched the area, made jagged, and then covered in trees. Especially as I'm going through and trying to replicate fatha's landscaping, I'm getting more and more disappointed that he covered it up. The landscaping is fantastic and inimitable- there are a few places where the 'jagged rocks' look just doesn't work, but they are indeed far between and for the most part this is a shining example of how to make the style work.

What is the park missing? A signature fatha' woody. I feel kind of like he sacrificed what could've been an awesome spot for a woodie to make the adventure ride, and I'm not sure it was worth it. That was his decision though, so I'm not altering it. (I can't make woodies nearly as well as he can anyway. :p ) I'm building in the hill area on the map edge in Old Arizona; the tree'd area between Egyptian Flying machine and Spider Mt. Essentially this is because it was the only area that really looked like I could add on without tearing things down too much in the process, but it works out well since another thing this park is missing ( for the era it was made in, at least ) is a classic LL fishhook. :p
