So you're calling this crap goliath?

I don't think he is, so calm down a little! You're better than this.

And Liam about our "TPR" roots. Dmaxsba is actually real nice. If you would read any of his posts on TPR he's actually the nicest guy you can find in either NE or TPR. He gives everybody help, offers constructive criticism, and do a lot of work for us to make the forums better that he doesn't even have time to build for himself anymore.

I can't deny that! I was talking about the main attitude on TPR and the stupid rules there. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

TPR: You're almost forced to like everything, and also that's what happens on the forums. If I post some shitty screens the replies would be something like "Looks great so far!", "Wow your REALLY good!", "Can't wait to see more!" and if you're lucky something like "Great start man! However I'm just not too fond of the coaster layout. Double corkscrews on a b&m are unrealistic... The rest of the layout is perfect though! Good job!".

TPR is a horrible, Amiercan, pointless, worthless site full of bullshit restrictions, unfunny jokes and fake people. Don't consider me NE-elite now; I've always thought about TPR like this even before I knew about NE.

You know the wife of the man who created that site. (completely off topic)
    is in rct2?

And also if you hate TPR so much. Why post there in the first place?

Alright, long time lurker here and just wanted to pop up to give my two cents.

Liam is right about TPR. When I first started posting I couldn't play RCT2 for shit, and of course everyone said it was "Great!". While I know it's good to boost your self-confidence, it doesn't give you any motivation to improve, which is why I never did for the longest time. Finally someone came out and told me I wasn't good. He was like my RCT2 savior. I worked hard to impress him (wait...or her. Oops.) and finally actually started to become good.

I guess this is just how NE works and if we want to post here we have to get used to it. Dotrobot, I'm not taking sides, but you asked Liam why he posted on TPR if he hated it so much....well why do you post on NE? The only thing this argument from criticism will cause is motivation to prove those "bastards" what you can REALLY do. You want to show them how good you can be, and then bam. You might just be on the homepage if you work hard enough.

I'm not taking sides here, but what I've said is the truth and nothing else.

I post on NE because I have nothing against it. It's only a few players that bother me.

I post my work here because I wanna know the opinions of people. Not just "That's good!"

Why do you think i criticize so much? I want people to get better!
And I don't build so I can show people that I can build. I build for fun. Do I aim for an accolade? Yes I do because I want some goal in the game.

But there's lots of criticism on your work now. I didn't get much criticism either brataz. But I went on a crazy learning curve. Why? I was a lurker on Nedesigns so much that I started building like it.

It's not JUST criticism that helps you.

Someone who understands the true meaning of RCT2...

I agree and am still waiting for those who didn't like my park to speak up and give me some advise on what I did wrong in their eyes so I can do better and I am not taking about the kind of criticism I got from one particular person, I mean real criticism, the kind that helps a person not knocks them down.

Yes, the rules of TPR are strict but you have to remember that site is dedicated 90% to the theme park industry. Games are a very small part of TPR and RCT2 is an even smaller part of that. Unlike here at NE you can't just look at a picture or a park and say it looks like shit, well I take that back. You can, just without the word shit and when you do you are expected to give a reason why and try to help that person. Not just slam them like what happens here quite often. RCT2 and the other games posted about in the forums are not as big a deal as they are here. Most people play for fun and really don't care about all this fancy stuff, so yes you get comments that are polite and positive and they should be. It is JUST A GAME at TPR, unlike here where it is a way of life. When we (I) see someone who is not just playing for fun anymore and wants to get better the not so nice comments start. Trying to encourage them to do better. So what is wrong with that? We let the players play and encourage having fun with the game. We criticize those who are really looking to improve and try to help them get better with instruction on the use of trainers and placement of scenry, paths and rides. We (I) just try to do it without being rude about it.

I really don't understand all the hostility toward TPR (or toward me for that matter) from you Liampie. No one forces you to post there and I don't recall ever doing or saying anything bad to you or about you. Your advice to me at TPR was great and I used it, your thoughts on my park after it's release here at NE (good and bad) were an amazing help to me.

After downloading the latest winning Arrow Coaster (CONGRATS Ride6 :mantis: ) I still stand by my opinion about Inferno as being the best one ever made in RCT2.

Sorry, double post, where is the delete post button?

Well since I have this spot here I might as well use it I guess.

You know the wife of the man who created that site. (completely off topic)
    is in rct2?

Yes it is true, the man who owns TPR is Robb Alvey and he worked with Chris Sawyer helping make the very game(s) this site is dedicated to, RCT and RCT2. Elissa White (< madain name) is his wife and in RCT2 is a name cheat for a guest that loves Intamin rides. She goes by the screen name SharkTums in the forums and she really does LOVE Intamin rides.

So for those who didn't know, now you do. ;)

    I agree with you dmaxsba!

So yeah if i build a arrow would you give me 70% if everything else was crap?

I'm pretty sure he was calling this crap but whatever.
  • Goliath123%s's Photo
    Wow your an idiot.
Im not calling it crap, i said its boring jeez man. Theres a big difference in crap and boring, yours isnt crap, its just so normal now that it gets boring to look at. If i built a design and got 70% but believed my work was bad i would say so, just wait and see what coming in the near future.
BTW i dont hate TPR, i think their alright, i like the trip reports that most people do but i stay away from the rct section.
Also my huntingtons, i like it yes and yes i thought it deserved silver when i compare it to past silvers and current silvers(not naming any) im not afraid to say it, i like my work and i see it as a shame that generally people seem to prefer realism over theming here. But im cool with that i couldnt care less what i win cos at the end of the day ITS A FUCKING GAME get over it, move on, build something else. I play this game for fun and because i love coasters, not to win some gold metal on a website. LOL quite funny when people really get into it.
I never knew that TPR hate me, ive never posted there before in my life, i just like the coaster knowledge and trip reports, what you said about them hating me hit me right out of the ball park, kinda funny actually.
I dont care what people think about me, why do you think i post what i do? I mean every word of it to. If someone is bad at this game, hell ill tell them no matter what they think, it is after all my opinion.

Funniest thing you said was how im "elitist" thats the best thing ive ever heard. Im not, i consider my self an average player at best who mplays for fun not to be the best out there.

The foliage was not the best in my eyes too many flowers. I would've liked it better if you at least replaced half of it with either grass or shrub objects.

I thought the foliage was brilliant.

    hehehe
  • Dotrobot%s's Photo
I'm an idiot coming from the guy who was upset because his bronze didn't get as long as a write up as a spotlight? Brilliant and best are 2 diffrent things. Brilliant as i thought it was brilliant and not the best as I've seen better.

Maybe you should sort things out.

Self Avreage player? You Dissed everyone at atari because you simply had an accolade. And than you ruined coupon's thread with the simple words this isn't going to win design when he showed almost absolutely nothing.

BTW, goliath. You don't care about what they say about you? Then stop fighting back about every single little comments and criticism people give you.
  • Fizzix%s's Photo
Well! I thank you guys for discussing about this so much, but RMM is right. I really didn't expect this to win, I just wanted to break the ice with a Design Submission. BTW, this is my first work with CS, so I'm extremely happy with it's score. I'm really learning as I go, and this was an awesome experience. I'll definitely grow as a player, and hopefully bag me one of these Design doohickys. Oh, and BelgianGuy, I think I'm going to expand this into a small park like you suggested, thanks! I didn't mean for this to be argued about so much. I felt like building an Arrow, so I built an Arrow. Again, I'm learning as I go, and I'll definitely be more wise about things like interaction and ride choice in the future. Thanks for all the feedback, though.
