I'm going to have to go with Sea of Sagas on this one. Standing alone the Hurricane's park was a gem for sure, but I appreciated the more theme park-ness of SoS. It was a very close call, had to go back to my first impressions. Great job both teams, two stellar parks to start off what is looking to be a killer H2H!

Zombieland had a good, if sterile atmosphere. Sea of Sagas was just insane. There were things I didn't like in both parks, and I was counting on Zombie Hunt to be more interesting from the quick look I took at it in the overview, but it was underwhelming. Cool hacks, decent pacing, weird order of elements. The kraken in Sea of Sagas looked more like a retarded robot than a sea monster, and the roofs were all very... brown. With some black. But the architecture on the whole was an absolute pleasure to peruse, so I think, for me, it's gotta be The Replacements

BOTH OF THESE PARKS SUCKED me right into their worlds - what a way to start! I'll need to take quite a bit more time looking through them before voting. How do people vote so fast!?

I gotta admit, Sea of Sagas initially blew me away. It seemed grander, more colorful, more active, etc. But after prolonged viewing and exploration, it really starts to lose its luster. The colors are just too muted in my opinion. The pale browns of the Val Halla castle are dominating throughout the map and the black/pale red combination of the invert does nothing to add vibrancy to the park. Don't get me wrong, the Replacements made an outstanding park and there's no shame losing this match, but it's just not something I'll return to look at again for inspiration.

Emotional level :p, This is like the first time I've looked at a park for more than 1 minute in years, after voting i spent a load of time just looking at sea of sagas again, i just couldn't get enough of it, first thing to make me keep my interest in so long :p

I feel like I spent a good amount of time reviewing each park.

Walto - I agree with your complaints about Valhalla. I disagree with your complaint about the invert. The colors fit the section IMO and it was a beauty to watch.

I really enjoyed the Hurricanes park. I really like the movie, and you guys managed to pull it off pretty well for a park adapted from film. There were a lot of great details and things to see in this, which means it held my attention for quite a while (much longer than The Replacements' park). However, a lot of the content was somewhat sterile, which is to be expected since this is a studio park technically, but I feel like it lacked in the areas you could have spruced up more. That movie set scene was inspired, but the rest of the park didn't give me that feeling. Definitely a fun park to explore, but not very pretty. Thanks for making me a rooftop zombie :p

Sea of Sagas is a great park. My main dislike is that the front half of the park is clearly better than the back half, and you can tell where each builder picked up and left off. The front half though, is definitely some of the best work I've seen in a while, since its fairly obvious who built it! I really liked the architecture here, and the yellow looper in the corner was a pretty fun one to watch. From that point on though, I'd have to agree with wheres_walto. I also thought the back half of the map was very busy/disorienting. There was a lot going on in this one, which is good to the right extent, but for me it just came off slightly irritating. The biggest ride in the park (the invert) was also not that impressive to me (but that dragon was pretty sweet). Overall still a solid effort, and great job on finishing such a quality park in the first round!

With that said, I am still undecided. Both parks seem very equally matched in skill. Congrats to all!!

    Also:

It was actually the #1 all-time box office money maker in history.

    What? No it wasn't.

I'm still tingling with excitement, this season could be full of amazing!

Honestly I'm quite impressed because two parks were much better then I expected.
and I'm still undecided too, fucking hard to choice..both parks have a very different styles like FK said.

well I'm pretty sure I can't vote anyway but I'll still give my thoughts on the hurricane park (of course I love the replacements one :D)

This was a nifty little park! I loved the movie and you certainly recreated the details quite well. I especially loved the kills of the week building, that was awesome. Some other little details were quite nice, like the backstage stuff (although it seemed a bit filler) and the midway game stalls were lovely. Overall though, I didn't really feel like it worked for a park... the readme also tried to make it more realistic than I think it should be, as its sort of a ridiculous (but awesome in rct) concept. My main beef, though, was that it didn't really feel like zombieland. The movie just felt more comic-y and whimsical, and while there is an element of this in the park, it feels more to me like a realistic style park with some a general zombie motif through it.
But overall great work, and thanks for a great matchup :D

Alright so I just had a blast looking through these parks. Being a fan of zombieland I really enjoyed looking through the hurricanes park and all of the set pieces and zombie deaths. But what really killed it for me was the execution on some of the flat rides like rattler and blast off, they just didn't have any cool or unique thing, they were just bland. It was still an amazing park but just didn't match up against the replacements' park.

Sea of Sagas was just a beautiful park. I absolutely loved the invert, the layout was great and i really enjoyed looking at the queue line with the dragon. My only problems were that some of the smaller rides didn't seems to fit well and were a little random. Also everything got a little too brown in some places. But overall this was definitely a better park than Zombieland.

My vote goes to the Replacements' Sea of Sagas.

Easily: Sea of Sagas! Amazing job on this!

Wow. I'm overwhelmed by Sea of Sagas!

I first watched Zombieland, and it was great fun. All the small details are rally cool, though I did not get all of them because I don't know that film. Also the beheaded Zombie object is just hilarious. But I felt the whole park was essentially about these details, and sadly it didn't look very good on a larger scale.

Sea of Sagas then was just perfect. A lovely theme, a very good readme and a wonderfully executed park. Some parts of the park are among the most beatiful, picturesque and atmospheric places I've seen in this game. For example the area around the stranded ship. I might do a "little things" for this one once the match is over.

    My Vote: Sea of Sagas

Finally got a good look at SoS.

I never thought I'd feel sorry for the Hurricanes.
SoS for me is the winner. Zombieland is a brilliant park but its just been outclassed here. I agree with most of the comments so far but i would add that the return run on the invert in SoS feels a little forced.

So my vote goes to the Replacements.

I've had a proper look around the Hurricanes map now, and I think it's pretty good.

I think I've guessed who had a hand in building it, and let's just say I'm surprised there's not a lot more water ;) But the architecture definitely has some of their style in it. The midway games were done pretty well and the coaster layouts were decent, but overall I just thought the atmosphere was far too stale.

Maybe against any other team, this would have won, but against the Replacements? Nah mate.
