and as for the coasters that is the second best wooden coaster this entire contest only behind the germans in round three.

Am I the only one who found Talisman to be far better than the Asterix woody? And I liked the Asterix woody.

If you read the last line of my post you'll see that I was stating my opinion and, even offered that I may be wrong. Simply because I knew people would disagree. I also prefaced the non-coaster factor with "Thing that lost me most was....". Maybe I'm 'old-school' in thinking that a game called RollerCoaster Tycoon should, indeed, have something to do with roller coasters. So, don't y'all go gettin your panties in a wad over what I blatantly stated was my opinion.

Milo....all I was really saying there was that I would have really liked to see that done in a medium that would have allowed it to flourish without the limitations that ll has and, I think that the name "Assault on Earth Base Gamma", the fact that one is immediately greeted with explosions upon opening the park and theming objects named "Overkill" class quad guns', "alien "diver" bomber drones", "alien "swarmer" attack drones" and 12 different "warriors" tends to belie a 'war' theme.

And, Becky...sorry about that, it's been stuck in my head too  .

Who are you to tell people what this game is about anyway?

    I am Fuckbucket.

In my opinion the park is clearly winning (by a large amount) because it is LL, and LL is the easier game to win with. That is, if a 9/10 ranked RCT2 park went up against a 9/10 ranked LL park the LL would win because of the mindset of the voters, and the way the voting system works. I think it's safe to say that more people who play LL have RCT2 then people who play RCT2 have LL, and this benefits the LL crowd under the new voting system.

To respond to chapelz: the reason for the "LL advantage" is simple. The single most appreciated aspect of parkmaking at NE is the sense that the parkmaker knew what the fuck he was doing when he built it. Coaster Ed and Mala parks aren't the most aesthetically beautiful - what brings them massive respect is the sense that the parkmaker knew what he wanted to do, knew how to use the game tools to do it, and pulled it off to perfection. Kitabasaki Dragonland kind of looks like balls in a lot of spots. But there are so many things within it that you look at and you just have to appreciate how good Ed is at parkmaking and achieving exactly what he wants. The power of inspiration realized by skilled parkmaking is what people respected in that park. It wasn't that it looked pretty like Gotheburg. I would go so far as to wager that the reason the X250 park opposing it was able to compete with it is that there was a fuckload of really impressive quarter-tile custom scenery construction in it and you got the sense that X250 ALSO knew what he was doing.

To relate this back, then: LL parkmaking involves more instances where you have to know what you're doing. Raising and stacking scenery, for example, is ridiculously easy in RCT2. Shift key. In LL, you have to use codex. And while it's easy to get the hang of it, it can get tricky in spots (example: sinking a ride or stall into a building) and you still have to know what you want to pull off, how to do it, and how to avoid crashing the game in the process. Even when you, Chapelz, build something aesthetically pleasing in RCT2, people appreciate both the aesthetic and the sense that you, when building it, knew how to use the tools to realize that aesthetic. LL parkmaking has more instances where you have to know what you're doing. That's why an LL park with theme A is generally more impressive, and more respected, than an RCT2 park with theme A.

The relative appreciation given to parkmaking in LL vs. RCT2 is pretty much proportional to the effort put in. You have to work harder to pull off the same thing in LL, and people know that and appreciate that, and it's more impressive. It used to be that NE appreciated the end result. So easily made RCT2 parks beat painstakingly made LL parks because the RCT2 parks looked nicer. But that's shifted. And there's nothing that makes me happier about this place right now than to see that. The people that have been left in the dust by that shift can cite the "well isn't it just about end result?" argument all they want, but that's obsolete.

k0ng, whether it's your opinion or not, i do not understand how you can't aknowledge the fantasy concept and the therefore apparent sense that a coaster in a realistic theme park design kind of fashion would have been totally inappropriate. i can understand that you love to check out such coasters in the game. so do i. but here, i just really feel it would have hurt the park rather than what it'd have benefited.

No, I do acknowledge it as what it is, and it's a great park. I'm not saying that there should have been a coaster in that setting. I'm saying that my personal preference is a park with coasters. And that's why my vote went to the other park. No more, no less.

thank you panic easily post of the season. unfortunately i guess i am stuck in the past but for me the end result is still what matters not what tool was used.

Oh K0ng, so since its your opinion, I'm not supposed to disagree with you. My bad.

Man, what the fuck did you eat that caused that to pop out of your ass? I mean...Jesus, when did I ever say anything that would lead you to believe that something I say is somehow some fucking edict brought down from on high? I stated my fucking opinion, said it was my opinion and went as far as to clarify that twice for those that couldn't get it the first time around. And, I bold some of my words for emphasis because, evidently, some people can't figure things without guidance.

Look, fuckwad......if you actually think you have some issue with me.....don't sit there and try to be cute and condescending. I voiced my opinion on the two parks. Apparently, since my opinion went against your team...you feel some need to start shit up with me. As minute as this all is....that's probably not a good idea. I'm usually pretty even keeled and open minded but, as soon as some bitch decides to make it personal.....well, I won't be responsible for anything that's said afterward.

Go back and actually read what I said. Take it in instead of having some fucking Midol moment and overreacting to nothing. And, feel free to disagree all you want. I couldn't care less. Although...I really don't see anything I said that warrants anyone to either agree or disagree with.

    You need a hug.

and "midol moment?" I didn't think Cam mentioned anything about cramps or bloating.
oh wait. I see what you did there. it was meant as a sexist comment about women being crazy when they're on their period.

Haha are you even fucking serious right now? I know that you stated your opinion, since you've said that around 30 times now. And when you state your opinion, you might expect people to reply, and even sometimes they might disagree with you. It might be expected that these people would be stating their opinion as well. However, in your next post following my original one, you defend yourself by acting as if we are all violating your right to have an opinion by responding to you.

If you read the last line of my post you'll see that I was stating my opinion and, even offered that I may be wrong. Simply because I knew people would disagree. You don't even defend yourself beyond that, just acting like anyone who disagrees with you is out of line for doing so. And that is fucking ridiculous. If your going to spew shit to get attention, people are going to disagree with you and they have a right to. To add to that, you overstep the line of solely making an opinion when you tell us how to make a park in the first post by saying "but......try to remember what this game is really about". And that is what generated my response to your first post. Maybe its not what you meant, but it sounded awfully like you were telling people how to play the game.

And seriously, whos the one overreacting right now? I don't see how a one line response can generate such an angry post with so little content of any value. I "started shit" with you because of your ridiculous ego and belief that nobody can disagree with you. Haha and when have you ever been "even keeled and open minded"?
