Description
****One important note, please view with the latest development version of OpenRCT (the older variants have a bug with the sound design)****
Revelations of Stonehenge is a high fantasy map set in outer space. There are five different areas to this park: “The Castle of Archangels”, “The Snow Gardens of Japan”, “The Savannah of Africa”, “The Fragments of Antwerp”, and last but not least, “The Journey for Mekkit”. For a full park description, check out the Read-Me.

I'm very fresh off viewing this but I just want to get in early and say this was an incredible experience for me. I loved how the centre of the map drew you in each time to follow the trail to the different entrances you had for each area. More comments to come but thank you.
You are pretty special Bluetiful, I loved this!
Early comment as well, but this is an incredible map and really shows the dedication and persistence you had to not only finish it but also to make something truly special and only you could make. I think you have pushed DKSO to its maximum here between the color palette chosen and brilliant object use. I'll come back with a more in-depth review. So many kudos to you for finishing this.
I mean to write a review and perhaps even be on time to have my vote count for the panel... But first I'd like to congratulate you on finishing this beast! It's so rich in cool ideas and detail. Top notch. I'll have a few points of criticism but they're easily outnumbered by all the things that I love. Great job man.
This is a legendary piece of art! The intricate details on a macro scale are insane. My favorite area is Africa and the inverted coaster is magic! The areas between each land is where I think this park earns it keep. Any future DKSO park will need to live up to this park. This is the new global standard.
AWESOME!!!
I'm very proud of you Blue. So happy for the mark you leave on NE with this park.
Had a long review written up but ofc my computer decides to crash and I lose it all.
Anyways, this was a great view. Really had something different to discover in each corner, and it showed lots of skill combining these different styles and keeping it cohesive. Just tons of great subtle detailing and texture work that really elevated everything. Only bit I wasn't totally sold on was the big castle, perhaps because it wasn't really balanced with anything else on the map. But I still really enjoyed it. Combining the great archy with some classy coasters that all felt unique and memorable was really the icing on the cake. This is a great achievement, no doubt. Get's a 85%/yes from me!
Wow! I was absolutely blown away by this project and what you were able to accomplish here. First off, the concept is great. A really unique and fun concept although it does clearly build off of previous works such as adventure time and some other more abstract pieces of RCT. The music choices were pretty hit or miss for me, by themselves, all of the songs were great and added to my experience viewing the park. However I felt that the songs clashed a bit and it was jarring going from one section to another. I would rather have had all of the songs be more laid back and piano driven to maintain continuity between sections.
Foliage and Landscaping: I'll start this off by saying that all of the foliage and landscaping were generally done at a very high level and I'm writing this section with the knowledge that you are really good at the game. The foliage and landscaping was a mixed bag for me. The object selection was really solid and the clumps look great. I did find that the foliage along water lines was not done as well as I'd like. I wish you would have used more 1/4 tile bush objects to make shore lines look more obscured in areas. For example, in the below picture the transition from land to water is jarring as its just a straight line.
The landscaping was pretty good throughout this park. The landscaping in "The West" was very good in particular. there was sections that didn't quite do it for me though. The Japan section in general felt really dead to me. The lack of buildings and atmosphere would have made a lot more sense if the landscaping was more defined and busy. I wish that that entire section was filled with cliffs and waterfalls and bridges and just intimidating landscaping in general.
Architecture: Clearly the highlight of this park. In fact, I was as impressed as I've ever been when viewing the architecture in the park. All of the areas had very solid architecture. I've posted some of my favorite moments below.
The use of the ruined statues in this house is straight up genius and looks fantastic. the atmosphere in this little floating island is incredible.
This is such a good looking station building for the river rapids. The shaping is so good and the objects choices and colors are just perfect. Really amazing work.
The castle in general is outstanding work. It is so difficult to make a structure that big and have it have so much character and detail. your use of adding in subtle colours throughout the castle was really impressive and worked great.
In general, I found the architecture in this park to be groundbreaking. All of the smaller details like your signage really made everything look new and innovative. Unfortunately there were still a number of unpolished spots like the train station which looks almost unfinished on the backside.
Rides and Everything Else: The stonehenge center piece was awesome. All of the layouts seemed pretty solid to me. I also loved a lot of the small details like the little curved stage in the medieval village area, the car falling off of the driveway in the west area, and all of the movement throughout the park. While this project was slightly rough around the edges, I still believe it is a groundbreaking piece of RCT and shows that you are an extremely talented builder. Even with all of my criticisms, this is one of the parks of the year for me. you should be extremely proud of the finished result here.
85%/yes
Congrats on getting such a huge project across the finish line. This is quite a labor of love and it's pretty clear how much time and effort went into this.
A year ago when I last saw this, it's quite incredible how fast you built, but also how much the map improved in that time. Everything looks like it was polished up and it says a lot about you to be able to process feedback and make changes that you feel like could improve the park. Namely, the area around Skylarking is night and day better. Even the magical stuff around the map is taken to a whole new level. Really draws you in as a viewer.
Besides that, there's a lot to like here. I do enjoy the Journey for Mekkit and rapids ride combo area - really atmospheric with some strong architecture, sense of scale, and foliage. The Antwerp area is like Grand Central but on steroids and wayyyy better than what we made in H2H8!
If there was one area that was "lesser" than, it would probably be the Africa area for me. The copper color was not very easy on the eyes for me. Or maybe it was just one too many textures on the coaster station? Either way, I think the other areas of the park were quite impressive.
As G Force said, this is a memorable park with some outstanding moments. Really something to be proud of.
Wow this is epic. It's really a rare treat to see a fantasy creation on a large scale like this. Love it.
I was ready to say this is one of the crowning achievements to come out of the DKMP community and how good it was for DKSO. Every time the thought would come into my head, In:Cities' voice would ring out even louder; it's all just good RCT in the end. Looking through this park reaffirms this.
This is just one of the most incredible things I have ever seen created in any version of RollerCoaster Tycoon, period.
It's not often you find the type of visionary mind to create something this fantastical and grandiose on a large scale. We've seen incredible efforts from players like FK, Walto, Hoobaroo, and several Koreans, but rarely did they ever break the H2H map size. Players like AVC struggled to finish their own full-scale creations that transcended parks and became worlds. A similar effort on not only this massive scale (290x270!) but this level of detail with a restricted object palette is mind-boggling. I literally almost cried, man.
Stonhenge:
+ Gorgeous ambient landscaping and crunch, setting the precedent for the rest of the park.
+ Guests entering through the portal in the middle is so clean.
+ Sneak peeks of each area at the edge of the central island are great.
+ I think my favorite detail of this entire park, with all the huge areas with unique takes on classic themes, might be the islands in the middle slowly transitioning to each area. Seamless. Artistic. Flowy. Brilliant. The surrounding atmospheric stardust I've only seen paralleled by FK+Coastermind using a full palette of crunch objects. Simply masterful.
European Village:
+ God that entry plaza is so adorable. I've been trying to catch that vibe for so long. Double stacked transparent signs throughout the park are very convincing.
+ Love the round concert stage complete with you shredding the oboe.
+ Market stalls are consistently great and the ones off the grid add a lot.
+ Circus tent with the exit stalls and transparent castle wall lights is super super convincing. My sleeper favorite feature of this area.
+Supports on Uriel are insane.
+ Clouds along the edge really give it a grand sense of height. Transparent color working overtime!
- Admittedly I think the castle is the low point of the park. The least incredible part. It feels out of scale compared to the rest of the park, and with the towering scale that would make J K blush comes a lack of detail compared to the smaller and more concentrated areas. It's still an absolutely mind-boggling feat of architecture, but it does come at a cost IMO. The town inside the castle is a nice addition to break up the white walls though, and there are some really cozy nooks that have my heart.
- The music is nice but it also sounds like someone keeps trying to get into my room and I keep doing double takes at my door.
Japan:
+ Stunning overview with the endless snow broken up by deep, vibrant coasters and pagoda roofs.
+ Insanely detailed landscaping, but somehow the progression of height is clear even with the homogenous and heavily textured ground. The ponds. Hold me, man.
+ Incredible archi through and through. Using the multi-colored electric fence pieces to get snow on top of the Torii gate is genius. At the same time, the simpler bits like the pagoda made of medieval houses work so well.
+ BANGER Schwarzy. Rotating the compass so north faces left gives us a moment with the lift hill framing the big pagoda. The Timster's splash hack gave me a good chuckle. Ultra Twister is an obvious addition for the Japanese area.
+ Serenity. Come on. That is one of the best flat rides I've seen in a bit and it barely catches your eye.
+ The floating islands with the falling snow are so well done.
- Something about the placement of the kiddie coaster feels a tad off to me. I made the track transparent as a quick test and it feels more complete. I think it's because it's very much on the grid while being placed on a smooth, gradual corner on the island.
- In general, despite my glowing feedback from earlier I think this island has some of the weaker macro of the park. The appearance and vibe are second to none, but the layout and arrangement of everything feels less focused compared to Africa or Antwerp.
- Kumba isn't complaining about the lack of gigantic-ass dragon sculptures.
Africa:
+ My god this land texturing. The number of times I have to right-click to get to bare land surfaces. So so so detailed yet you can still make out where the elevation changes, just like Japan.
+ Listening Wind is a dynamite layout with so many great interactions.
+ Happy feet! Wombo Lombo! Execution is just seamless.
+ Amazing palace. It's so easy to bungle a huge monochrome structure like that, but all the different shapes and levels make it really memorable.
+ Observatory is a unique addition and execution is so clean with the observation tower and bumper boat topper.
+ The slow jams?! The playlist does a lot of work making this area feel really unique. Love all the Talking Heads references in this area as well.
Antwerp:
+ The creme de la creme. Oh my god. I know I should be divorcing good RCT from what objects are used, but this might be the best use of the DKSO bench we have ever witnessed. Best area of the map by far.
+ Some of the best architecture I've seen in any RCT park. The palace/carriage station is spot on. The church is overwhelming. The half-diagonal buildings are shattering my mind. The train station is just AASASHFAHSGHADGHSUDGHADG. HOW?!?!?!?!?!
+ Methodical Driving and minor earth | major sky add so much to the vibe of this area. The latter almost gives Le Reve Parapluie with the ghost trains.
+ The music. Just sit there in the middle of Antwerp with The Very Thought Of You playing. Take it all in. Emotional vibes I've only seen rivaled by Hoob, Walto, and barnNID. There's no breakup narrative this time and I am still about to break down over a RollerCoaster Tycoon park. Good lord, you caught the vibe and enslaved it.
+- Two E-ticket coasters is a tad bit overwhelming honestly, although the use of color means the area doesn't feel overloaded. On their own they're both great, although they do meander for some time. The way they go under the road is a stunning interaction that really lends to the in-space feel of this park.
+ One of the better carousels I've seen in recent times
+ The little particle effects near Inducer using transparent fountains is crazy. Reminds me of how it was used in Luminescence for water dripping off a cave.
The West:
+ Right away I'm smitten by the choice to go modern for what could have easily been a cliche wild west area. Reminds me of main streets I've seen in the Rockies; I just wish they had a gorgeous little family boomerang weaving through! Use of stalls for windows is a new one!
+ Amazing backstage area with so much detail. The cutaway on the boomerang's station showing just enough theming to get the hint is flawless.
+ On the other side of the street is one of the best takes on modern architecture I have ever seen. The RMC station is a classic Bluetiful building, but good lord that rapids station is a stunner.
+ Such lush fall foliage. I was begging for fallen leaves somewhere and you instantly delivered. The little bits of grass poking out of the dirt path make me feel the crisp autumn air.
+ The vineyard. Good lord. Can't let 94SP have all the glory, can you?
+ Journey for Mekkit might be the layout of the map for me. Great pacing, incredible interactions with the landscape, and doesn't overstay its welcome. When will my Mekkit come home from the war?
+ The train disappearing into laces of pink magic is one of the vibe highlights of the map for me.
I'm not sure what else to say, I'm just stunned. Oh yeah, 175 entertainers. I really hope that this map serves as a rallying call for other parkmakers regardless of origin to pursue fantasy on a full scale. The potential to turn RCT from a theme park simulator to a worldbuilding and storytelling tool has been ripe for so long. We can create universes with our own hands in the funniest way possible. You've proven that not only attempting but finishing an effort like this is absolutely possible. Overall, one of my favorite RCT parks ever and definitely in my top 10. 85 and absolutely a spotlight.
Not bad for DKSO.
It's a great park, the best way to discover the dkso style. It's a fair reward for a style that has evolved a lot recently imo. I wasn't a big fan before, but I must admit that I'm enjoying discovering these parks now. Congratulations to you BM, and to all your mates, you're doing a great work!
BM, congratulations on a fantastic achievement with this park. It's amazing, so much here to see.
Mainly, I wanted to post a review saying what I loved about the park because that's overwhelmingly how I feel about it.
Starting with stonehenge itself - one of the joys of exploring your stuff is figuring out how the hell you do it. So much tile inspector, invisible color, sunken object stuff, but truthfully, for me, the answer most of the time is I have no bloody clue.
moving over to antwerp, this is for me 90-95%/yes level stuff. half diagonal non-CSO buildings, insane level of details all the way down to peeps on the roofs, the damn roofs themselves, the fantasy elements layered over the city... this blew me away. This is genuinely one of my favourite areas of any park I think ever. Maybe the single best non-CSO part of any park I've ever seen. Your larger signs on the buldings are another high point for me. The crunch on the roads, the ribbons of coaster track flying around, it's just nothing short of gorgeous.
Moving round to Africa, this does feel like a step down to me. It's a more subtle theme where as the viewer I feel less overwhelmed by detail. I feel mainly like the colors in this area look flushed. Especially on the station and temple structures. There's good texture variation, but it needs a secondary color in there IMO just to bring out some more detail. The layout on the coaster is great to me and it integrates well with the splash boats. Some of the huts are super neat joining together as they do.
The castle: on its own, if Uriel is submitted as a design to me, this is really high quality stuff. The paintings round the back - ridiculous. The scale of it does seem to be incompatible with the church in antwerp, but it's fantasy so I'm happy to let that slide. I love these mega structures in RCT and this is one of the best I've seen. The village next to it is composed so carefully, and has a perfect dose of chill.
The japan area feels a touch empty to me, but what is there is great. I wish there was a little more linking Sugi in to the rest of the area for me, but the ice effect under this area is awesome. The little islands around each area of course are amazing and maybe peak for Japan - so cool.
Journey for mekkit is my second favorite area of the park. It has enough similarities on the high street to the antwerp area to remind you its clearly the same cohesive park. those details on the buildings again blow me away and I'm a sucker for fall colors, and a sucker for an RMC in fall foliage all the more. I'm not a fan of the rocks here; I just can't get it out my head that this rock style looks like cellulite! Maybe it's a me thing. It's skillfully down and that little trusset green bridge is a real show stealer - love it.
Overall, I'm blown away. I don't know how you did half of this. Super impressed, and I coudn't not vote yes.
Congratulations again on this amazing release and of course SPOTLIGHT #101!
Absolutely amazing, dream-like atmosphere, beautiful space and magic effects and one of the coolest park entrance concepts I've seen. So many clever object uses for some great architecture, and the signs are incredibly well done.
Congratulations on a landmark spotlight and soon to be elite parkmaker title!
Amazing work, congratulations on getting this finished and winning Spotlight. The Inducer area is one of the most stunningly beautiful compositions I have ever seen in RCT. Such an incredibly innovative, fresh, creative park overall. Between this and your giga contest entry, you may be my favorite builder right now
I don't think I can add anything that hasn't already been very well said above - but massive congrats on a fantastic project and much deserved spotlight. This is one I'll come back to time and time again - such inspiring and surprising use of objects - I've spent ages trying to work out the many clever tricks you used. My eye dropper tool is going to wear out haha. Such an atmospheric park (loved the various music and ambient tracks, and the movement of all the stuff flying through the void makes a very strong aesthetic). As others have pointed out too, the little snippets of the different areas that you pass by on your way to the main areas are brilliant. Too hard to pick a favourite area overall but the architecture of Antwerp is absolutely superb. And your ride design is top notch too.
I think what I like most about this is the line it straddles between elements of pure fantasy but also parts that would be at home in a 'realistic' park. Big congrats again!
I looked at this for hours when it first got released, then inbetween at the screens you shared, then when i was working, now at the release and surely a lot of times in the future too. Its been a blast to follow this project. Your tenacity and drive for perfection are inspiring and so is the park itself.
The atmosphere is beautiful with so many tricks and techniques to discover, the macro is gorgeous, the architecture is the best ive seen in DKSO and the ride design is innovative, yet grounded. Truly a masterpiece and one of my favorite parks ever. I feel honored to have been a part of it, no matter how small and insignificant, thank you for having me.
Congrats on this spotlight and the red name, blue! I am so proud of you for finishing this! This is the new peak of DKSO!
earns Elite Parkmaker
Fantasy spotlights are rare. They remind us why we build in the first place: to dream beyond blueprints, to create worlds from nothing, and to leave a mark that feels uniquely personal. Blue embraced that challenge and delivered a park that feels both ambitious and unmistakably his own.
After more than 100 Spotlights since 2002, Blue brings a new style of RCT at the highest level, blending his experience in high-fantasy parkmaking with a complete full-scale vision, and evolving his technique along the way through innovative use of OpenRCT2's latest developments such as invisible colours. This is the kind of release that keeps the tradition alive at NE: big maps, bold visions, and builders stepping into their own legacy.
Congratulations, Blue — a Spotlight, an Elite title, and a place in NE history well earned. Long live RCT!
