As far as flowing, yellow Intamins themed around pre-Columbian Latin American civilizations that include step-pyramids and giant statues of idols go, this one is easily in my top 2.
Inspiring. Longer review to come.
Not bad for dkmp
I told Steve that the macro here looks like "We Have Macaw at Home". It was a compliment. Really lovely little slice of a park, highlighted by an excellent Megalite. Love the Catwalk made from vehicles, the litter-as-lights is over the top, and the blend of nice scenery and ride vehicles together with expertly crafted pathing wraps it all nicely in a broken-grid bow.
Copy/paste Top-Spin always looks great - really well themed.
I also love how you did the map edge, simple and subtle.
Great rides, great macro, great work.
my main problem with non custom scenery parks up until now (apart from maybe 2 or 3 exceptions) is that there's just sliiiiightly too much imagination required by the viewer to see certain theming objects as representations of other things, or coaster/ride vehicles as not those. lots of them are really clever, and a handful have been so successful that i could suspend that part of my brain that says "that's a monorail car" and instead imagine what the builder intended it to be.
this is probably the first (or second, sorry Leafy Lake) map where everything is of such a high level, and these clever theming choices are integrated so successfully, that i'm just looking at a slice of a themepark. i don't see "raft ride", i see "path covers". i don't see "car ride and litter", i see "string lights".
it's beautiful. the aesthetics are spot on, great vibes. the ride is cute, colors are great, theming is fantastic. the temples are amazing. texture use throughout is brilliant. fundamentals are obviously on point, colors/foliage etc. love it, good stuff.
Wow, what a power pairing
I'll leave the floor open to the others who haven't seen this design yet, but I just want to say this is yet another incredible NCSO highlight. I hate how good the litter editor works here. It's like Turtle said. Everything is so convincing.
This is what I call a slice of perfection. I love it. NCSO. Bravo!
This is about as good as it gets with NCSO - just pure technical and compositional excellence. Every angle, nook, and cranny is a pleasure to view and explore despite the relatively small size of the map. The theme is well-executed and incorporates an impressive degree of highly-themed realism. The level of detail that you employed using purely DKSO tools has frankly set a new, even higher standard than there was previously. Leave it to DKSO/NCSO players to discover a myriad of new tricks and ways to play this game and continue to wow the audience. Superb - well done. The way you have broken the grid with perspective tricks, null colors, and ride vehicles is nothing short of genius. I have frankly almost nothing bad to say here. It is such a joy to see the continuous development of several NCSO/DKSO styles, with highly variable levels of complexity, detail, and compositional style. If I, for example, play in a more minimalist, basic style, Olmec represents the near-pinnacle of realistic complexity and detail, which is something I can certainly respect!
I'm not even gonna make a DKMP joke. Just a seamless blend of flawless parkmaking that transcends any style or workbench and cutting-edge NCSO tricks that take it over the top. Ride design is fantastic; no notes or flaws. Catwalk is insanity. Archi makes WW/TT objects look like they always belonged. Multicolored raft awnings and litter string lights are genius flourishes. I think you could have had less water on the right side and still got the point across though.
I knew I shouldn't have told you about the litter on a string.
Great work you two - certainly is the high water mark for a NCSO design.
This is fantastic, guys, in every aspect. The overall area design reeks of Steve, reminiscent of Lemuria, Glow-Worm and Macaw (also credit to the other builders on those maps). You excel at these type of path spaces, man.
I think you both excelled here in spite of some very poor looking objects. You made it work almost everywhere, it's just some places where the stark shadows look bad or where the rocks are too blobby. In some places the objects and solutions chosen make it a bit hard to read, the queue is virtually not a factor at all for the coaster which is a shame. NCSO-isms such as mini golf umbrellas don't really do it for me, but stuff like the half diagonal raft awnings or using those ugly ass gold statues for the top spin are brilliant on any bench.
Now that I got my points of criticism out of the way, more good stuff... The layout. Very good. I love the colour scheme on the map. The azure bobsled awnings... Beautiful. Architecture is nicely composed. Not much catches the eye, but when it has to, it does so: the station facade foremost. Lastly, tasteful naming.
Overall it's a great design, top tier stuff.
The layout is just effortlessly good, not a single piece of wasted track, basically perfect honestly.
Obviously the rest is incredible too, perfect amount of context, so many fantastic details. Love it all.
Very very nice, well done guys! So many clever tricks which others have called out above - I'm sure I'll find more when I look again. The grid breaking with the ride vehicles really elevates this I think. Also love the backstage area - so classy and with some fun details and peep scenes. Keep em coming!
Great work on the logo, i've never seen one so impossibly handsome.
I had to look twice to realize this was a NCSO build, which says it all about the quality here. Love the layout as well, feels like a true Megalite. Nice!
