Indoor Egypt AJ Indoor Egypt features the song Lw Kan by El Shab Arab, an Algerian Pop Classic! This past month my university hosted a Palestinian band and I got to perform popular music from Algeria, Egypt, Turkey, and Lebanon with them. They also asked me to arrange a suite of Palestinian wedding music for the university students to perform on western instruments with the band. It was so fun for my rct and my doctoral studies to overlap for a while! This park is all fun, coaster packed, and full of joy!

    Lurker-

Yasss, so glad you entered, I really enjoy this map. The two coasters are great, the invert is my favorite. I think the four corkscrews in the same direction is so cool. I also love how dense the foliage looks! The red landscaping with the object selection was a great touch. The small farms are my favorite detail, behind the lift of the woodie is such a gorge area!! The world wonder itself is nice- its featured plainly and boldly in the middle and the peeps get good views from all around it.

    Fred and Deano-

This is overall a really impressive map! I dont feel that theres a feature ride but thats ok, i think the library dark ride is sick af. The map of the east Mediterranean sea is so cool. The zoo section is also rad, i would be scared of miss lion tho, being stuck in a ride is an easy meal for her! The facade of the library is a great area, i love the main street with the camels. The green areas really break it up so well, i like how the trees match the pillars. The other building near the military parade is probs the best in the park!! (and probably this round). The small fountain with the lily pads looks so gorge! Nice. The wonder its self is sooooooo good, that splash boats through it is great, that drop would be so fun. Realllllly enjoyed this map.

    RWE-

The river edge is the standout for me in this park!! Super well done The small farms and hut is to die for. I love all the small animal scenes, it gives so much life in small but powerful ways. The blowing sand is a great touch, i love the bit of movement in an area thats not the focus. Likewise, the small peep scenes are all done so well. I think they're placed well around the map too! The few buildings are also so great, they're so detailed on a small level.

    Narc-

What a nice big coaster!! I feel like you have a thing for rather large rides. And queues! The line for the coaster is silly, i like how it goes over and around the drop tower. I also love how parts of the coaster fly over and around the paths, that would be so fun to see. I think the grave robber flat is cute, breaking down the side of the pyramid. Great detail. The pathing and landscaping is nice, i love the difference between the manicured plants and wild plants. Thats cool! This is a cool project and looks like you could expand it for the next round!

    Liam and Gustav-

I am a huge fan of this. I think its very mature and clean. Nothing to much and nothing (too) underbaked! Each little vignette is so detailed. I really love the path layout, the grass edges and dirt edges look great. I think think this plays with scale is such a cool way. This is the entry I could probably learn the most from, for what i wanna build and how i play the game. Id love to more of this, maybe a small coaster (this map doesnt need it im just imaging more beautiful work in the future)!

    Kenos-

Yasss Im a fan of every launch coaster and drop tower this round! This entry kinda has the opposite vibe of gus and liam, I like how HUGE everything is. The main pyramid is cool, i like the scaffolding and gold tip, hehe. I also love the small farms, anything with a farm i love!! The bridges with the tours is the best part of the map. I think they are detailed nicely.

  • deanosrs%s's Photo

Ancient Light - this theme is lurker-perfect. The coasters frame the macro of the bay around the lighthouse rally well. I think you could have added a few levels to the lighthouse but my guess is you wanted to keep it from blocking any part of the map which also makes sense. Great implementation of the main road through Alexandia!

Sidon - great concept, this scale is a lot of fun on this map. The wonders are really recognizable look great as the peeps pass by, especially babylon which I think is probably the most fun here with the dashes of blue and water. Sure, there are some unfinished spots but this is my favourite idea and approach to the theme.

Pyramid of Gizeh - this one got the minideano vote. The coaster/ rotodrop interaction is cool, generally I think you're probably a lot better at this parkmaking thing than you think you are. The sculpture at the entrance to the largest pyramid is another really nice flash. The building behind the two large needles needed some texture, and the map was just missing that layer of shops/stalls/benches/signs/crunch to blend it all together a little bit. Would love to see you enter future rounds and continue getting better, as there's a lot to like here.

Ancient World - I think the miss here is the texture/height of the pyramid, and the tunnel entrance for the coaster, which looks like concert rigging a little. But that aside, there's really neat and tidy landscaping and the scaffolding work around the entrance to the coaster's queue is wonderful. The coaster itself is fantastic, flows really well and i like how the launch transfers it to a totally different part of the track than the tight turns around the station. The support work is fantastic. There's a lot to like; see if you can find someone to partner up with on a future round as you have a lot to offer here!

Indoor Egypt - this honestly feels like such a pure entry. I get the feeling this would be Chris Sawyer's fav map of the round by far. So much life in the park it contrasts nicely with the calmer exteriors. Lapis is a sneaky good layout and fits perfectly inside the space you have. This area is really readable inside the larger pyramid. I love to see the CHE swaying palms getting a work out too.

    Indoor egypt:

Love the concept! The sphagetti bowl coaster is really cool, love that little sections where it goes under the footbridge. I get why you did the cut-outs in the roof the way you did them, but I felt like it was just slightly annoying. Also felt like you ran into some timing issues with the cars on the road not moving. Other than that, strong and fun entry, from the overview it was the one I was most curious about from the beginning.

    Ancient light:

Simple, pleasant and cool. This entry was very cute. I liked the layout of the wooden coaster. I thought the SLC layout was maybe a little bit less successful. Overall a very cool park though.

    Ptolemy II's

Very strong entry. Love it! The main street going past that market and giraffes is so good! Love how you made the middle of the street with the dirt and the sidewalks with the stone, gives a really cool effect and makes it feel like something ancient. Probably my favourite entry from this round. My only nitpick is that I didn't really like how you guys did the cut out of the roof for the dark ride, but that is minor all things considered.

    The Ancient World:

Man, Wrath of Osiris is such a sick layout! I would love to ride that in real life! I also loved how you did the station, looks very cool to me! Unfortunately I did think the pyramid itself and the queue line for the coaster were a little bit undercooked, but overall this was still a strong entry! The scrambler "taking away" pieces of the side of the pyramid as if it was scrambling them was a nice touch.

    The Construction of Giza:

Woah, great landscaping! Really well done. Also love how you made the pyramid. The archy was also good in this. My only complaints with this entry are: 1. I wish there was a little bit more. 2. I think the coaster layout could be a little bit stronger. (Although I do like some of the interactions) I also think it may have worked better if you had used the lsm trains instead of the giga trains. Overall this was one of the stronger entries imo.

    Pyramids:

This entry was quite cool, but it felt like maybe you ran into time troubles a little bit, it feels a little bit rough and unfinished around the edges (is it?). Overall some cool ideas though. I like the coaster station and also the log flume is well done, as is the entrance to the main pyramid.

    The Seven Wonder Selection Survey:

This is some great work. Probably my favourite archy of the whole round. So much detail and great how you managed to make things look so small yet so detailled. The foliage and landscaping is pretty good too. I do think the entry does feel like it was maybe a little bit rushed towards the end (surrounding land is still present instead of void, etc). Overall this was an excellent entry though. I also love the boats in there!

Overall a pretty tough choice. I have three favourites, I will make sure to vote later when I make up my mind! Well done to all the builders!

    Indoor Egypt

Pretty cool to see an indoor park, something that isn't done that much at NE but is getting more popular in the real life theme park industry. Fun names for all the rides. Love both coasters, they seem like they'd be a pretty fun to ride irl. I also liked the pyramids background near the kiddie coaster, would've been fun if that was done all around the park. Not a fan of how you did the roof, I think there were better options to show that bc now it remains hindering viewing the park which is a shame.

    Pyramids

This park looked really interesting from the zoomed out overview. The pyramids are cool, love the Seth face statue. There's definitely some good stuff here but I feel it hasn't been fleshed out quite right thus the park not fulfilling its potential. Also pretty rough at some spots, like the corner with some ice land tiles... some buildings are quite promising but underdetailed. I wasn't a big fan of the coaster, lay-out pretty uninspired and not so flowing. Also because of the colors it kinda goes up in the nearby Nile river and doesn't stand-out like it should. Overall this entry showed some promise but it feels like the deadline came too soon for this map.

Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon

Liam you gloryfull bastard! I was kinda expecting someone would do more than one world wonder, but you just went for all of them and more. Super smart move, going for a mini-Europa style of park showing off the wonders as a miniature. Also super smart to use those stalls as a kind of guide, which def helps because some ancient world wonders are less distinguishable than others. Boats are cool. Foliage was kinda sloppy in some spots and I'm also not a fan of those LOTR textures for the land rocks. It's clear that you ran out of time and the park is pretty unfinished. Shame, you didn't do yourself any favor by starting so late so I hope you learned from that. It definitely feels good anyway to see some new Liam work and I hope next rounds will also bring more Liam stuff.

    Ancient Light

Ah yeah, a typical Lurker park. A style that always blasts me back to the past. Love the foliage and landscaping. The coasters are cool, the SLC being the better out of the two. My only gripe is that the lighthouse feels too small, even for the smaller building scale in this map I think it should've been taller and more dominating.

    Ancient World

This coaster is a blast! Feels like it would be a world class coaster irl, very flowy and twisty, making good use of those new track pieces. The tophat after the big launch is insane. Also kudos for the supporting, done really well. The coaster station is also great. The rest of the map is a bit hit or miss. Maybe it's also a deadline thing that took away the level of extra polishment that some parts could've used. The scrambler near the pyramid was a cool idea, neat.

    The Construction of Giza

You guys def win on the music, so good and setting the atmosphere. I love how the coaster is integrated onto the pyramid with that big turn and drop. Lay-out wise the coaster is really, really good. Really flowy and keeping a steady pace. Def my fav coaster of this round. Loving all the details around the pyramid, great houses nearby with great texturing and the ground crunch is killing it. Not a thing to dislike or even to remark at all in this entry, I love it.

Loved seeing all the entries, really happy to see new history-themed parks added to the NE database. R1 was very good, looking forward to more!

  • Jens J.%s's Photo
Great first round! Expected more pyramids tbh haha, but those that did do the pyramids all had original takes doing them luckily. Objective-wise, I think The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon Wonderland, The Construction of Giza and Ancient Light fulfilled the objectives the best. In terms of overall quality, I really liked Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC, Indoor Egypt and The Construction of Giza.

Liampie and Gustav Goblin: Why do one wonder when you can do way more haha. Love all the miniatures, very Sprookjesbos-esque. The park seems rushed in a few places (e.g. missing land wall textures, was there supposed to be a waterfall?) but I have to shout out the foliage in this entry. A+, no notes (see image). Great tree and crop diversity, nice density in certain places while also letting the grass tiles itself breathe in others.

    Attached Image: Gustav and Liampie.jpg

Narc: The section around Grave Robber with the crumbling pyramid section is nice. Love the dense, tall grass shrubbery around the river/lake. I'm not sure the monorail was needed? Some dynamic or story elements there (moving monorail train, mechanics working on the wiring under the track, etc.) would've benefitted that area imo. I like the texturing on the pyramid, but besides using colour differences I would've loved to see some texturing applied to the objects to make 'em look less plastic-y. Station building looks great, I really dig all the wooden supporting around it. Coaster layouts are not my forte but this one looks like a banger.

    Attached Image: Narc.jpg

Lurker: Again, I'm not the one to judge coaster layouts, but I really liked the wooden coaster here! Great planning in this park, I really get busy harbor vibes from it. Love the terraining around Irrigation. I think more shrubbery near the water instead of standing trees would've been a better look (you can also sink the trees although that would require cheats lol).

    Attached Image: Lurker.jpg

deanosrs and FredD: First of all, love the colour palette. I'm a Desert palette die-hard fan. The big lighthouse with the water coaster interaction is to me the best area of the park, love the grading on the walls and the details on the big tower itself. The texturing of the land/water in the library hall of the dark ride is a bit flat, you could've stacked the land with leaves/crunch objects to make the distinction between the two (besides the colours) more clear. Love the hanging clothes in the area around Wrath of Ptolemy II. I would've loved different colours for the boats (especially the ones stationed at the piers) to make 'em pop out more against the brown-ish boardwalks/piers. Really cool entry!

    Attached Image: deanosrs and FredD.jpg

RWE and MK98: Obsessed with the texturing in this park. It really makes it feel like a dry climate except for the sections around the river. The pyramid is very nicely detailed and not boring to look at at all. My only wish is a bit more movement/energy in this location, for example with pulleys carrying materails up/down or left/right. The camels made out of objects are genius. The fields area next to them is beautifully made.

    Attached Image: RWE and MK98.jpg

AJ: I would definitely visit this place. Love the decorations around Delta Drops. In general it's a lot of tan colours everywhere, maybe a bit more pops of colour like around the kiddie coaster would've been nice in more areas. Foliage is nice and diverse. A slay!

    Attached Image: AJ.jpg

kenos: Love the big overbank element on Amun Ra. The texturing feels a bit off in places (e.g. the harsh dark brown lines in the central area, I would've made those one shade lighter). The striping on the central building is really nice, well layered! More wooden supports structures next time, the ones you made look great and fit the surroundings well.

    Attached Image: kenos.jpg
  • kenos%s's Photo

Liampie: Brother, since I know how little time you had, just like me, you still managed to create something solid. I really like the idea of a miniature world; I could have come up with it myself. Yes, the brown cliffs are a bit roughly drawn, but that's just because of the lack of time. In any case, you can clearly see what buildings are depicted in the miniature world. Nice work.

Narc: First of all, the coaster is definitely immersive with all the diagonal zero G rolls at the beginning. The support work is definitely impressive.
The pyramid could use a different color and yes, it could have more details. I tried it myself quickly, more or less. The coaster station is beautifully designed. All in all, a solid entry.

RWE and MK The first thing that strikes me here is the harmonious atmosphere; everything feels well thought out. I actually wanted to make a diagonal pyramid, but then gave up because I couldn't get the parts to work. You've got the approach just right. There's always a new scene to discover from every camera angle. I love the bustle here. Nice work.

Aj: What can I say? It feels like a modern, well-designed mini amusement park housed in two modern glass pyramids.

The coasters are well chosen for an indoor park and are thrilling. Some of the support work is not yet complete, but it's hardly noticeable. Maybe one less coaster and a few more flat or children's rides for balance. I love it anyway.

FredD and deanosrs: Alexandria is perfectly captured, even the huge lighthouse. Every corner of the map is breathtaking and there is something to see everywhere. All the indoor entries are brilliantly implemented. The water coaster is perfect for this map. It shows what can be achieved with a little more time. For me, this is the clear winner. Congratulations.

Lurker: A classic lurker entry. The tower is beautifully designed for the limitations of LL buildings. I think that larger buildings might have allowed for more of Alexandria to be imagined, but larger buildings in LL quickly become boring and clunky. The Woodie fits perfectly into the map.

In my defense, many things were planned differently. The boring LSM layout was actually supposed to be a surf coaster, but I didn't have enough time for everything. I built most of it last Sunday, and unfortunately, that's how it looks. I can definitely do better with enough time. Maybe I can show you that in round 2.

Coasters were great, music was awesome, so glad we got to see a different take on Pyramids and a really fun park, which is pretty much a staple for an AJ release. Always looking for the crows!

Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC by deanosrs and FredD
My favourite of the round, packed full to the brim of content, cool ideas, everything had a purpose. I can't tell who built what so that says a lot about your partnership. Some of my favourite touches across all the parks were on your map.

    Ancient Light by Lurker
I'm always looking forward to an entry from you as it's a change of pace. Vibes are always immaculate, I couldn't see some of the textures you were using (I always struggle here) but I gave the overview a good look (as well as opening the park in-game). Good shit Lurker.

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon Wonderland by Liampie and Gustav Goblin
A great concept by great players. I didn't have your partnership down on paper but I'm glad it happened. I wonder what you both could do with even more time added to your build, although I didn't feel this concept needed it.

    Pyramid of Gizeh by kenos
So happy to see you building again and this was no exception, I wanted some stronger layouts on the map but I really enjoyed this. Hope to see you enter again!

    The Ancient World by Narc
One of my favourite coasters, it was staged so well and definitely put you on the map for me! Excited to see you in other rounds especially your coasters, just get that killer partnership and the rest will be history!

The Construction of Giza by RWE and MK98
I'd say this had the most epic set piece of all the parks, the pyramid with the construction work and that super intense layout was chefs kiss. As always if you gave yourself more time, I think this round maybe a different story for you but I adore your work and it's even more impressive you pull these parks out when your time is limited. The nile was really well done and the crunch was some of the cleanest and most readable across the parks. Big fan Timo and congrats MK... building this around your solo is so impressive.

    Indoor Egypt:
An impressive indoor park, great ride design and interaction with so many great sightlines from a guest level, this place would be awesome in real life.
Cool way to shape the roof though it does make the park tricky to view. Also, really catchy music!

    Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC:
Amazing and feels very H2H-like. Beautiful architecture (The recreation of the lighthouse is awesome) , and tons of peep level details with a custom soundtrack that really sets the atmosphere.

The park feels very lively and has a lot of motion. Also, love the custom peep name list, such a cool small detail to further help the immersion.

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon Wonderland:
Love seeing miniature architecture in RCT and this is great, so much detail packed into those scenes, and a impressive number of ancient wonders included. Also like the foliage and pathing, the named map stalls are also a nice touch with the presentation. Can see where time crunch hit but still a lot of fun.

    Pyramid of Gizeh:
Can see the time crunch here but I like how the pyramid complex is laid out and how many large structure were done.

    The Ancient World:
Really like the ride design, an impressive fun layout and some very great support work, also a couple of nice interaction moments.

    The Construction of Giza:
A cool concept, also know this was somewhat time crunched but there's still a lot of crunch and peep level details, also interesting to see a non-inverting launched coaster, and it's built really well into the centerpiece.

    My park:
Said on discord but I guess I'll post here too: This was built with Open viewing in mind. Also I wanted to make the lighthouse taller but ran into LL's lower height limit.

  • Poke%s's Photo
Lurker: You have such a sweet, admirable style Lurker and it really showed here.
The lighthouse was well executed in its simplicity. The coasters were fun and the overall colour scheme with the red rock was warm and inviting.
The farming outskirts were an intelligent element to incorporate and added that extra oomph to the atmosphere.
It's tough for this style to compete next to the overly technical contemporary style but your work's personality stands for itself. Great job.

Ptolemy II: A seriously impressive submission. True dedication to the theme, wonderful activity and storytelling throughout the map. Bold, intricate architecture inside and outside. Detail galore.
Perhaps the foliage could have had more variety in colour and feel? But the overall project... you guys really nailed it. Top quality.

The Construction of Giza: The ride design really shone here. And the little village buildings were so well done! And that wonderfully done river with the beautiful mill, top notch!
Perhaps I didn't appreciate the actual wonder as much. I found the brown supports a bit overbearing. Plus the map shape wasn't really working for me. But a very very strong submission.

AJ: Quite a different take on the theme which was a smart move. Enjoyable park that was fun and had a nicely subdued level of theming. I liked the incorporation of water throughout the pyramid.
Lots of interacting tracked rides which distinguishes it from the other submissions so far. I think some of the surroundings were a bit undercooked comparatively. They weren't really adding to the overall effect.
Nonetheless, a solid submission AJ. Well done.

Seven Wonders Selection: This was a treat. A place I'd love to explore in real life. Love the emphasis on gardening and I really liked the foliage mix. And I feel like all the wonders
were executed fantastically. The main thing missing for me is the attention given to peeps. They were really struggling to access the only ride on the map! Quite a special submission though. See myself going back to this one.

The Ancient World: I like the attention given to the main roller coaster. The station and the theming around the queue line was really well done.
Perhaps lacks the thematic depth and finer details of some other submissions in this category. I felt like the wonder wasn't given the proper attention it needed.
But the coaster going off onto its own little islands was a great idea.

Kenos: This one's interesting. Definitely lacking refinement but not without its charms. Modest but pleasant colour scheme.
Great open feel and I like the starkness of the architecture. Honestly might be my favourite pyramids of the whole round.
I did find the static canoes scattered throughout the river a bit strange. I think, despite the roughness, you actually did a wonderful job here.

    Indoor Egypt

    - Music was banging!
    - Feels very believable - gives Las Vegas vibes. I enjoyed the contrast between the calm exterior and the action packed interior
    - Great use of elevation changes with the paths and having the rides go over and under
    - Loads to explore without being cluttered - well done on finding the balance!

    Ptolemy II's Alexandria
    - Absolutely crammed with content - how did you do all this in the time?! Very impressive
    - Top notch architecture, foliage and rockwork
    - Interiors and cutaways are fantastic - so much to see
    - The library dark ride is just outstanding - and the map of the Med is one of the highlights

    Ancient Light
    - Classic (and classy!) Lurker nostalgic goodness. The single-tile paths make it feel very cosy
    - I enjoyed both coaster layouts and their colours (and the colours in general throughout the park)
    - Great macro with the main street cutting across the map and the lighthouse being hugged by the bay
    - Loved both the little docks for the boat hires

    The Seven Wonders Selection Survey
    - I think this was my favourite concept - super clever and fun and executed really well - rough around the edges (literally) but impressive given how quick the turnaround was
    - Superb miniatures - they're so damn cute
    - Great use of the map stalls as explainers for the viewer
    - Lovely foliage and overall a nice calming atmosphere

    Pyramid of Gizeh
    - Some great set pieces with all the huge monuments - the main pyramid is particularly nice with the scaffolding up the side
    - I also liked the area around the rotodrop - nice interaction between the path, water and the coaster
    - Wasn't a big fan of the land textures as path - felt a bit angular and the texture looks repetitive when there's so much of it
    - I really liked the trench the log flume goes through at the beginning for some reason - I can just imagine going through that

    The Ancient World
    - Amazing coaster layout with very well done supports
    - The big launch up to and through the pyramid is a great moment
    - I really like the station building with the various wood scaffolding parts, and the queue entrance going underneath
    - I feel like this would have benefitted from a different main path colour - the grey cools everything down. Although it does feel realistic

    The Construction of Giza
    - Lovely crunchy goodness - the use of all the beige grass gives such a great texture. And the blowing sand creates a nice sense of movement throughout the map
    - Superb foliage around the river
    - The pyramid itself and the coaster interaction is so impressive (although minor complaint: there's a fair bit of glitching when the train passes through. Not much you can do about that I guess)
    - I love the zoomed-out view this gives with the hexagonal map and the coaster coiling around everything - feels like a little diorama. Very nicely done!

    Indoor Egypt by AJ-

Very strong park, with a creative twist, making it indoors. I was initially a bit thrown off by the impaired visibility, but with the holes in the roof and cutaway tool you are able to get a good impression. Impressive how dense a modestly sized park can be in terms of atmosphere, attractions, and personality. I like how it is a playful interpretation of the theme, and that the scale allows for a busy, lively park. Having said that, aside from the entrance, attraction names and some theming here and there is however not that much connection with the ancient wonders; I also think more could have been done to go beyond somewhat routine references to ancient Egypt (sphinxes, obelisks, etc.); but that goes for other parks too. All in all, a strong, fun park with attention to detail – that could play a bit stronger on the theme, in my opinion.

Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC by deanosrs and FredD

I have to admit, as a sucker for Greek mythology, any related theming has my attention. At the same time, so many variations of this theme have been done that I think it is hard to bring something new to the table. I think you have managed to do so in many aspects. In general, I think the park looks great; very detailed, polished, and immersive; I love for example the military parade and the Alexandria library dark ride. It is a strong homage to the theme of the contest. The colors are (as always with this theme) appealing and easy on the eyes; the architecture is fitting and yet diverse enough across the map to not become monotone or overly predictable, which can sometimes happen when relying on archetypical buildings/styles. Overall a solid, strong contender that adds a bit of fresh air to ancient Greece-inspired theming!

    Ancient Light by Lurker

I really appreciate the throwback style and it adds some diversity to the contest. I like the scale and size of the attractions in the park and coasters in particular; for me, it creates a cozy atmosphere and avoids crazy support structures dominating the view. Given the theming, I personally would have preferred the lighthouse to stand out more, both in height and visually; the proportions are now a bit off for me. The architecture can also become a bit repetitive across the map, but that probably reflects the limitations in terms of items that you had (which makes the achievement of the park all the more impressive). Very charming park.

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon Wonderland by Liampie and Gustav Goblin

I personally really like this map for the bold choice of just doing every wonder of the ancient world and not having any real rides. Not only that, it manages to create a wholesome atmosphere of an informative park where all kinds of wonders are convincingly miniaturized. Despite their size, most are still instantly recognizable and detailed! A downside for me is that it does feel a bit empty, both literately, in terms of people, but also more broadly in that it is a rather static park with not much movement/life. But then again, a park like this would perhaps not be a huge success in the real world either in terms of visitors :) Great references to the theming, original, and with the respectable choice to deviate from expectations of grand crazy coasters.

    Pyramid of Gizeh by kenos

Nice cohesive theming with good usage of a Nile-inspired area as well. I also appreciate spicing up the standard pyramids a bit here and there, as well as the obelisks. Having said that, it feels a bit rushed or not yet completely done in some aspects and parts of the park; some buildings look like they could use or were intended to have more than just a shop, and as a result, it feels a bit empty beyond the theming and main coaster.

    The Ancient World by Narc

What a great coaster, in my opinion, as the centerpiece for this park. It dominates, but in a good way that is rare in my opinion. It flows nicely in terms of speed and is integrated in a very nice way with other attractions, theming, and pathing, with peeps getting a good view from all kinds of angles and action moments! I also like the length of the coaster and how its main launch happens after quite a bit of action already. The theming provides clear references to the objectives, but I am not sure if the execution of the pyramid works for me. It looks in a bit of an odd way like a modern artist rendition of a pyramid with the chosen textures and launch gate for the coaster, which throws me a bit out of the original theming. I do like the vegetation and islands you added. Summarizing, a great coaster that rightfully takes all the attention, but perhaps at the expense of attention to the theming.

The Construction of Giza by RWE and MK98

Wow, what a park! I think the color palette and brown/beige tones here work in such a good way without somehow drowning out everything in the same hue. The link to the theming of the contest is clear but with a nice twist to focus on a coaster during the construction of the pyramid (although it feels a bit conflicting to have entertainment surrounded by forced labour, haha). Focusing on the construction also allows the park to spice up the design of the pyramid with various objects/textures/etc. The integration of the river and houses are also so nice, standing out yet also fitting in so naturally. I like the choice to put a wooden coaster track underneath the giga coaster, not sure if it is inspired by anything in real life, but it fits esthetically. My only downside is that aside from the coaster there is not much more to explore; but that’s understandable given the amount of detail put into what is there :)

    Ancient Light – Lurker

Classic park-making in true Lurker fashion. I like the macro, the coaster layouts and the combination of the Martian ground-texture and foliage. I think the lighthouse of Alexandria, as a central feature, could’ve benefited from a little more oomph. In my opinion it lacks greatness and looks a little underwhelming. The sightlines in the city and farm area are a highlight.

Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC - Deanosrs and FredD

Awesome entry! The lighthouse with the watercoaster going through it, is an impressive eye-catcher. Love the megalite supports on the tower. The combination of the megalite and shakeroof on the bottom level looks a bit uneasy in my opinion, but that’s a nitpick. I thought the choice for rotatable doombuggies for the garden-ride looked a bit strange to me on first glance, but when I turned the screen and found out they’re part of a Library-themed darkride it made a lot more sense. I loved how you guys added this big ass darkride in the centre of the map; especially how it’s kinda hidden on opening and I think the planetarium is gorgeous too. The diagonal temple on the small island helps to break up the macro straight lines. The city-area might have benefited from some extra non-gridline roads or buildings, but again a nitpick. This is a very strong, very full and very complete entry.

    Indoor Egypt – AJ

How fun would it have been if the Memphis Pyramid had re-opened like this, in stead of a Bass-Pro shop. Daydreams aside, you really succeeded in packing this park to the brim with attractions. Love the Lapis-Lazu-looper drop-coaster layout. I think the Ra-llercoast is burdened by the height-space restrictions maybe a little too much. I do love the interaction with the Delta Drops though. From a colour-perspective, the park has something ‘coldish’ about it. Maybe the greys in the pyramid, pahts and parking lot. It reminds me a bit of the palette in Charybdis and Scylla from Xeccah. The Algerian pop blasting through my speakers really brings out the sun though and adds to the general vibe.

The Construction of Giza - RWE and MK98

This is a really interesting entry. I think it has a lot of style and class. It’s sharp and crisp. Really ‘to the point’. Strong layout, strong monochrome archy to add just enough context, strong waterbed with foliage to add just enough contrast. The only thing holding this entry back is the spammy use of the wooden support structure. I think that just a little bit more of variation in the wood-construction would’ve elevated this to even greater heights. But all the texture, the crunch, it’s art.

    The Ancient World – Narc

The wrath of Osiris looks like it could be a realistic coaster somewhere on the edge of a park. The layout is flowy and definitely the strongpoint together with the macro. The foliage is nice too. The conifers clash a bit with the sandy ground-texture, but I get it from a context-perspective. I think that there are two things holding this park back in terms of quality: 1. the architecture, most prominently the lighthouse and 2. The lack of context / purpose for the giant pyramid. I do like how you added transportation-rides from other areas of the park.

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon Wonderland - Liampie and Gustav Goblin

On the one hand it’s a shame you guys didn’t get to finish this park fully in time, but on the other hand I’m glad you guys decided to join and show what was already there. Even though it's not ideal it's still material. The concept is great and Liam’s eye for macro is as always present. The micro scenes are just lovely and I think Gustav could’ve added some fun music/soundclip/multimedia-type shenanigans if there was more time.

    Pyramid of Gizeh - Kenos

Great to see you participate in this contest Kenos. Macro is definitely not bad. I would’ve suggested to put the roto-drop a few tiles further to make it accentuate the curve of the coaster a bit more and I would’ve made it a lot less high. You’ve nailed the general shapes and it’s great to see you experiment with the finer details. I really like the statue of Seth and I like the pops of colour you’re using on the trims. Looking forward to see what you come up with next.

    Kenos
Very nice dedication to ride design, although sadly the coaster was too slow. Otherwise quite bare and unfinished looking. I did enjoy the pyramid quite a bit though. It was good you prioritised this.

    Liam
Beautiful garden designs and colours. Your fortés are timeless and are very much still available for you to rely on. Loved the cliff and grass combo. Otherwise sadly a little uneventful.

    Narc
I liked that this was the only entry next to AJ's to take the theme into a realistic contemporary park setting. Design wise not the strongest of the batch, although where you gave theming a serious go, for example the inner "courtyard" of the coaster station, there are signs of talent there. You just need to execute and develop more.

    RWE
Gives Jerusalem vibes. A more sophisticated entry with impressive theming ideas and execution. I didn't like the hexagonal pancake like map however. It's too flat for me and looks like corner cutting due to deadline pressure. A shame, as stylistically this was the strongest entry for me.

    AJ
Very ambitious. Indoor dome parks like this are so hard to get right. You did an admirable job. I just wish the roof were spared or opened more to see the park. Especially where the spaghetti bowl is. Macro wise this entry is unfortunately overburdened, and as such a lot of good detail ideas are too easy to go unnoticed.

    Deano and Fred
The strongest and most complete entry for me. Beautiful design and structures, both in architecture and rides. I will say the park is almost too busy to me. Lots of scenes and micro moments condensed together that fight for attention. Aesthetically, the park, while nice, is a bit too wild for my taste with lots of colours. I think the brightness overall is also a little overbearing, and I would recommend more balance with darker tones. I would love to see you experiment with a bit more serene style that tries to boost the macro and overall park/area appearance in favour of the micro.

    Lurker
Very nice to see an SV4 in this batch. The retroness of your work is really quite inspiring. This looks like it could've been a H2H1 map. It reminded me a lot of Haunted Harbour as it has a similar bay charme. Single-wides should never be underestimated.

    Indoor Egypt

an interesting twist on the theme requirements and a nice little map. the roof made is pretty hard to see what's going on, and i almost liked the outside of the structure better than the inside in places. nice peep scenes too.

    Ptolemy Il's Alexandria: 250 BC

i really liked this map, it's pretty textbook for the theme/requirements and for me had the strongest overall quality level. it also has probably the most stuff to look at, and perhaps unsurprisingly it's right up my alley. the size of the lighthouse is AWESOME. a punchy choice making it so big, but the size of the map allows it, and it feels imposing while not being a boring structure. great coaster in the lighthouse, and a really nice supporting ride in the library. tons of cool little details, clever hacks, excellent scenes and so much to see.

    Ancient Light

don't feel fully able to judge this one as i don't have LL textures, but more Lurker goodness. glad to see more!

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon

really nice little entry (ha) - a great take on the theme and you've got a ton of stuff in there. also very classy surroundings, foliage was lovely. deceptively simple, there's a lot going on under the surface here. effortless.

    Pyramids

some really good stuff in here but the whole map doesn't really come together, it feels a little bare and barren. macro is good!

    The Ancient World

kinda similar to the park above, some nice stuff but lacked detail compared to some of the other entries.

    The Construction of Giza

quality-wise up there with anything else in this round, but just lacked content-wise compared to alexandria. some really clever parts, i loved the wooden coaster throughout, great map shape, great structures and theming. the wind rolling across the sand is a vibe too. very sophisticated theme execution here, can't wait to see what you make next.

    Indoor Egypt

Happy you got this one done! A very AJ way of approaching the themes and blending them with your personal style.

+ The Adventuredome approach is such a cool way of representing one of the world wonders while keeping it sleek and modern.

+ Coaster layouts are mint as usual of an AJ release. Ra-ller Coaster is my favorite of the three with the way it's almost entirely over water.

+ The theming really feels like a perfect blend of a flashy indoor park and ancient Egypt.

+ Love the murals on the wall that take the theme all the way home.

+ I really love how music played a part in this park! The song you chose not only slaps but really shines a light on a very unique form of music not bound to Western traditions. It's really inspiring to hear you got to play and arrange this kind of music as part of your studies and keep these cultures alive.

+- The tiled path with the colored accents is really neat and I wish there was more of it throughout!

+- The balance between visibility and capturing the pyramid-shaped roofs is almost perfect. It does get a little hard to see through the glass roof objects and I did end up making them invisible to take a closer look. I think recreating those pieces with trim objects so you could get wider gaps would have made it easier to view, although SMing all of that in place would have been very annoying. For what it's worth, the cut-outs make things a little easier to see and establish some focal points.

    - Only ride I have any issue with is the double deck carousel which sticks out a bit IMO.

    - There's some strange bits upon closer inspection like Halal Burger being blocked by a wall that guests clip through, but I understand you were a little strapped for time near the end.

    Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC

Right off the bat I get the vibe that Fred took a lot from the park he was working on with the Soda Jerks! It really shines in the Greek-style architecture which I think contrasts really nicely with the beige Egyptian elements. Definitely a theme I was anticipating him crushing this contest. Also really happy to see deano building again with that Herakleia influence shining through. Fantastic entry from a surprisingly cohesive duo and my favorite of the round.

+ What makes this one stick out from the rest is the sheer level of detail. There are so many little scenes throughout packed with life and the cutaway interiors are fantastic. Took me a bit to notice the military parade in front of the palace!

+ What landscaping is featured throughout is stellar. The garden/zoo section of the dark ride is the obvious highlight.

+ The ride design is really strong but also very subtle and packed into the park really nicely. The Library of Alexandria is the highlight with some great dark ride scenes and even a few mini world wonders like ours! Honorable mention goes to the sundial roto drop which is just as genius. Unfortunately both are giving me some real Constellations PTSD so I gotta dock points.

+ The custom peep name object is a really clever touch! Seems really simple to do when you

    - Contrary to what I've said before, the water coaster could actually afford to contrast a little more as orange makes it blend into the gorgeously executed Lighthouse of Alexandria. As I said in the screenshot, red strikes a good balance of popping out a little more and capturing the fire vibe.

    Ancient Light

This just makes me smile dude. The classic LLurker we've all known to come and love; relatively simple but in no way amateur. I'm ready for five more Lurker gems at least!

+ Woodie is great, especially the way it frames the wonderfully themed Sun Wheel.

+ Great macro that frames the world wonder really nicely. Very similar to Fred and Deano's.

+ Landscaping works well for a LL park; jagged land and lush (albeit a tad spammy) foliage.

+ I really like the colonnade which is literally just monorail track with base supports. Works really well for how simple it is.

+- The Lighthouse of Alexandria is very readable albeit a bit stumpy, although hearing you came across the height limit makes sense. I forgot that was a thing!

+- First half of the invert is great but its pacing kinda falters in the second half. A different inversion like a zero G roll instead of two more corkscrews would have given some more variety.

    Pyramids

Surprising to see an entry from you, although I shouldn't be given your activity in the Grand Tours. You did mention you were starved for time so I can't fault you too much for the negatives. In fact, it makes me excited to see what you can contribute in later rounds! Your work in H2HX really shows you've been improving and I'd love to see that continue.

+ The titular pyramids look great and the Mayan objects give them some great texture.

+ The signs on top of the pyramids are very recognizable.

+ Chamber of Seth is my favorite ride. Love the trench in the first half and the big drop built into the pyramid.

+ Nice LSM layout that tucks itself into the non-pyramid side of the map. Love the big zero G stall at the beginning.

    - Unfortunately this one is a little underbaked in my eyes. The surroundings feel barren even for a desert and there's some awkwardness with the foliage such as palm trees floating above the water.

    - The "path" layout is a little square considering it's mostly dirt the peeps are walking on. More rounded shapes and diagonals like near Chamber of Seth would really benefit your parks. Using more of the blended land textures on the paths to blend them into the sand could have also broken up the grid and added a lot of detail with minimal effort.

    - The entire roto drop area is inaccessible to peeps and the coaster clips right through the bottom!

    - I would have really loved to see something worth drawing peeps into the biggest pyramid, such as a dark ride or a food court.

The Ancient World (or Wrath of Osiris as I assume it's supposed to be called)

As with Kenos, it's a nice surprise seeing more Narc! It's definitely a very Narc entry with the coaster connecting a little archipelago.

+ Wrath of Osiris is a really great layout, albeit a little heavy on the zero-G roll-adjacent elements early on. I do love me a flying snake dive though!

+ Grave Robber is definitely the best supporting ride; it's integrated into the area really well and the crumbling ruins suggesting it's drilling into the pyramid is a really smart touch.

+- Foliage is one of your stronger suits, although the army green color is a little hit or miss for me. It fits the area surprisingly well but also makes some of the objects look kinda weird.

+- Backstage looks very nice, although I'm not sure why there are flowerpots and the exposed section of stone wall desperately needs supports behind it.

? I really think you missed out on making the shadow cloths a vibrant accent color rather than tan on beige. I feel like there's a balance though; I experimented with dark blue and dark green and they did start to unnecessarily grab my attention.

? I feel like the path leading to the area should have been under where the monorail curves so it's facing the huge pyramid and coaster launch. That's a hell of a weenie!

    - Looking at it zoomed out, I feel like it's a bit path-heavy with little in the way of spots to just chill out for a bit. It's a little like the sands of Egypt with no food or water!

    - I think the pyramid could have been a little smaller. Considering it's just a show building for the coaster's launch, it's taking up a lot of room.

    - Scrolling signs for entrances or no entry areas is a weird RCT-ism in an otherwise realistic park.

    - I feel like the station facade could afford to have a little more variation in form. Right now it's just a big solid wall with some scaffolding on it. The sphinxes on either end are a good start but make it something that feels really cool to enter! Something like an extruded pyramid section with an opening for the queue.

    The Construction of Giza

A rock solid Design through and through. Knew Dubbya would hit hard with the last-second speedruns and he does not disappoint. Great work from a tried-and-true pair and my second favorite entry of the round.

+ Layout is super fun with some great interactions with the Great Pyramid. Black track with wooden supports is such a look too.

+ Landscaping is delightfully crunchy and some of the best of the round.

+ I'm shocked at how many peep scenes are in this one! It adds a layer of fun to a straightforward entry.

+ Archi has some great variety in shape and form despite simplistic colors. Love the big banner on the coaster station.

+ The pyramid is one of the better examples of the world wonders in this round and the way you chose to display it as under construction makes it so much more interesting.

+ I love all the little scenes that really make you spend time with this relatively simple entry.

+ Hexagonal map shape is striking.

    - There's some glitchy bits where the wooden supports don't bank with the giga track.

    - I'm just confused why you two made camels out of scenery objects when we have some great CTRs from Spacek that do the job just fine!

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon

Fun (and hectic) way to spend an otherwise lazy Sunday! I opted to do the DKMP inverted coaster contest instead of TTA since I wasn't 100% feeling the theme, which I'd say worked well enough. There was about a week between the DKMP and TTA deadlines though, so I wanted to help push an entry over the finish line. AJ reached out to me at first, but I crashed the Friday I was supposed to start working on it and was out the entire next day in which AJ pretty much finished. Since AJ was in a good spot, I reached out to Liam and Scoop who were also doing entries and Liam replied first. It turns out his entry was very similar to a recent building challenge I did and he thought I was the perfect candidate! Likewise, I thought his idea was super fun and was very happy to hop on!

Despite only working on this park for one day, I can say with authority there's just something different about working with Liam. He exudes confidence and class and it rubs off. He pointed out that the entrance was a simplistic architectural motif and suddenly I'm churning out the surrounding four buildings at four times my usual pace! I was already a huge fan of his motif-heavy style but actually working in it gives me so much more respect for it. I also did the static peep scenes (which I didn't have time to name unfortunately), the plaza past the entrance, the Great Wall-inspired bridge, the Labyrinth, the Temple of Zeus and some foliage spam to fill in the gaps. I also started a draft for the Hanging Gardens of Babylon which Liam used as reference for his own recreation.

There was some talk about a larger tracked ride, but I really don't think this park needed it and the miniature world wonders are the main attraction. It's a little sad we didn't completely finish and one more day would have done us so well, but considering how fast the whole thing came together I'm overall happy. I'll leave the rest to Liam, but I'll say it was really fun working with him and a build between us two with more time could go crazy. Thanks for the warm reception!

    Indoor Egypt

I didn’t get the feel of Egypt once I entered the park.  What was inside was well laid our and was indeed a fun place, just didn’t get the Egyptian vibe

Ptolemy II's Alexandria in 250 BC

Big fan of this entry. Loved the Library dark ride, the sundial, the underwater theming and the various markets outside along the map edge.  My only complaint was the lackluster coaster.  Yes the tower/building is fantastic, I just wish the coaster was more to it.  All that said, well done!

    Ancient Light

Not a big fan of LL, as that was before my time and I have a hard time understanding the interpretations you all come up with. That is a “me” problem and nothing specific to your park, as I typically don’t review LL parks for this reason. That said, I do like the red rock landscaping and Solar Fury.  You have a lot packed in on this map, and it looks like a blast to walk around.  Nice job!

    The Seven Wonder Selection Survey

Such a beautiful map.  Love the pathing, the ships in the Bay and the overall atmosphere of the area.  I also love all the buildings around the map. I'm actually glad you didn’t have a signature attraction on this as I don’t think it would have added any value to the entry.  Very nicely done!

    Pyramids

This has potential if more time had been provided.  I liked the various structures you built, and the layout of the coaster looked like fun, but clearly the entry was unfinished.  The pathing, coaster supports, and landscaping around the map.  It has potential, and I hope you take it back and give it the love I think it was intended to get.  That said, you did much more than I would have gotten done!

    The Ancient World

Wow.  That layout is huge and would be a blast to rid.  The support work must have been “fun” to get in place.  I like the damage to the pyramid around Grave Robber.  Nice touch adding that to help break up such a large structure.  Not sure about the opening for the launch as it seemed way to large for what was needed.  Overall, really solid entry.  Well done

    The Construction of Giza

Where to begin.  The landscaping around the river is some of the best I have seen.  The coaster interaction with the Pyramid is amazing with the main drop cutting through it and the small dives into and around the base just fits.  Not to mention the interaction with the very early stages of the second pyramid. What really sells it for me is all the details on the pyramid itself as its flawless.  Not to mention the blowing sand!!!!  This is just sooooo good.  Well done!

nonestop bangers!! im going to make a vid about these but I just wanted to pop my head in while the voting is still open and say each and every one of these is appropriate and executed to an impressive degree. especially good to see kenos and Narc entering! im bored of all the other builders!

I think the standout of the bunch was freddo and deano's creation. i feel like this is a park someone would suggest after a mock draft for you two to build together lmao!

  • MorganFan%s's Photo

Indoor Egypt - I love this park! I wasn’t expecting to see a realism park set in the modern day in this round, but you pulled it off and this is a really strong entry. I only have one main critique which I’ll get out of the way: I feel that the pyramid aspect loses a bit of focus as a feature, instead functioning as the park’s structure. Nothing wrong with that, but I would have liked to see the pyramid theme reflected more within, as it could be missed with a less discerning eye. Still I think it was a genius move to put a park inside the pyramids. Strong ride selection inside with two dominating coasters, a nice flume, and several nestled flat rides. Path plazas and overlooks make up a solid portion of the interior and lend a nice space to the inevitable chaos of indoor parks; the overall layout and macro is the park’s main achievement. A minor nitpick is that I wish the park entrance was more grand. My favorite part is pit with the spaghetti bowl coaster and log flume, it looks like something you could see in real life. Great park here, very glad we got to see such a strong solo entry from you!

Ptolemy II's Alexandria: 250 BC - Here we have the clear heavy-hitter of the round. Tons and tons to look at, and a home run of a theme. There is a professional quality here, as if I could see this exact map created in a AAA video game (I’m particularly reminded of Baldur’s Gate, though I don’t know if that was intentional). Well done! It’s almost difficult to put all of my thoughts into one paragraph. Great balance of rides and peep space. The architecture is imposing without being too claustrophobic. As a coaster nerd/snob, I wish there was more to the water coaster, but on its own it functions fantastically as the park’s centerpiece ride. Well, maybe one of two centerpieces. The library is a marvel and its namesake ride may be one of the best dark rides in the medium of RCT2 to date. At the risk of being overly-critical, I felt the cutaway sections were a bit heavy-handed, and I think the park would have benefited from a more complete structure. The entire harbor scene is absolutely my favorite part. Everything in and near the water is a triumph, I’d say the color palette is a cheat code for putting tan architecture near Mediterranean water, but it’s more than that; the structures, macro, and details combine into one beautiful painting that accomplishes the daring task of feeling somehow both historically accurate and modern-realistic. There is so much to say and fawn over but I’m trying to stay as succinct as possible. Fantastic achievement.

Ancient Light - This contest wouldn’t be complete without a LLovely LLurker LL entry! And this is without a doubt some of your best work. There is a fluidity to the map and macro here that is a hard mark to make with the limited tool set available in the game, but you nailed it. Full of life and motion, I could see myself here. By contrast, the lighthouse stands very still in opposition to the rest of the park, though I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. I am amazed at the amount of attractions stuffed into a relatively small footprint, with none of the trappings of blockiness that can unintentionally occur in LL. At points there are certain angles that are a bit harder to read, but that is a hard balance to hit, especially with so much to look at. Namely, the main walkway I think is a bit too broken up and would have been better off asserting itself as a more solid block of color. I understand this is difficult to do in game though, so I don’t believe that’s much of a drawback. I think the inverted coaster is my favorite even if the layout isn’t necessarily realistic. It has a nice flow to it and the bits of interaction allow it to dominate its area, without being too large or intimidating. Really great entry!

The Seven Wonders Selection Survey at Sidon - Ignoring the few spots of unfinishedness, this is a sweet little park. Great macro and the shape feels organic and lived-in. Texture and foliage is ever-present yet balanced, and each set piece has a good sense of space which flows throughout. I wish there was a ride or something, but I can’t be too pedantic. The use of map stalls to call out the names of the monuments is clever. My favorite one is Alexandria, but the entrance of the park itself is my favorite part of the park. Glad this could be submitted, it’s definitely an idea worthy of creation.

Pyramids - Very nice assembly of features here. The main plaza in front of the coaster is nice, and I really like the temple with the two obelisks in front. The chunkiness of the pyramids feels good, and the scaffolding were a nice touch. The coaster has a great start, but I feel it meanders a bit in the second half when it wraps around the drop tower, which itself is a bit separated from the rest of the park; I wish it had been integrated more gracefully. My favorite was the log flume, especially the trough at the beginning. Overall this is a nice map!

The Ancient World - First off, the coaster is very nice. It is well-paced and has some great interaction points, and the supports are well-done, if a tad overdone in a couple spots, but that is a nitpick. I do wish the main high-speed portion of the coaster was less hidden by the pyramid and foliage over by the scrambler; I think a viewing platform or plaza near the coaster’s large elements was a missed opportunity. The pyramid itself is imposing, and functions as a nice clear centerpiece, but again I feel that leaving it empty aside from the launch tunnel was another missed opportunity. I absolutely adore the placement and function of the scrambler digging into the side of the pyramid. The coaster station is very clean and has a nice realism to it. The scaffolding add a balance to the tan brick and the whole structure as a result to make my favorite part of this map. Lots of good stuff in here, cool entry!

The Construction of Giza - On first impression, this is by far the most visually striking map of this round. Carefully selected colors, forms, and structures with appropriate negative space add up to much more than the sum of its parts. There is a satisfying visual balance that pervades throughout the viewing experience which makes for a very effective park. I absolutely love the coaster. It makes great use of its surrounding setpieces and has a great flow with a realistic mix of intense and gentle pacing. It dominates the map strongly, lending a breakup of color to the tan landscape and structures. The color balance in general is wonderful; with a vein of blue-green through the drab sand, as a foundation for the brown and black coaster, the whole map is vibrant without sacrificing the feeling of dry desert. The details and various peep scenes are a nice touch, adding life without distracting from the main pieces. Texture is everywhere and does so much to keep the surroundings interesting. Hard to pick a favorite area but I’ll go with the little farm by the river or the tomb foundation beneath the coaster finale. Absolutely fantastic work!

Completely different take on the theme and what I expected, but it worked for me! Always love a realistic setting and I'm a big sucker for indoor themeparks, so this was right up my alley..

Great coaster layouts, like we're expecting from an AJ park. Loved the interactions of the dive coaster with the pathways, especially that first drop under and around that viewing platform. Nice touch with the swaying palm trees as well.

The corkscrew coaster reminded me more of those standard launched Vekoma's, and maybe had a train too much, but lovely interaction with the flume.. Also loved how it is sitting lower than pathways, so guests have an excellent view of the layout. Love that little mural on the backside with the swaying palm tree and pyramid at the back of the flume lift hill. Those other murals are also well done, and create some nice visuals for the guests to look at, other than some boring concrete wall..

Also love the little seating areas throughout the park, just how you would see them IRL. The other supporting rides also were nicely done and provide some nice variation and content.

Wow, so much to like here! The first thing I immediately clicked on were those flags made out of canvas walls, so clever! Shows how powerful the invisible color can be :D

But next my main focus went to meticulously constructed lighthouse, great details, blend from dark to lighter brown on the walls using the transparent fade wall, and absolutely loved the interaction and integration of the water coaster into it. Must be a thrill to ride! Also loved the ''Disney deco'' walls used to theme the battlements and the splashes of color to give the tower some more depth and variation. Great foliage around as well (gotta love that savanna bush)

The city area also had some great architecture, rides, and details. As a big fan of interiors I also loved to see those really well executed, gives the buildings some actual meaning, and a lot more opportunity to get more content in and the viewer more engaged with the park.

The library of Alexandria gave me H2H vibes, so well themed, with lots of great interactions, and love the rotations you did like the real-life darkrides use to point guests to interesting scenes.. Creative use of the 1/4 recolored paths to create the water with, and the camel pulling the chain was just genius :D

Great soundtrack as well! (guess FredD was in charge of that ;) )

Always nice to see some new Lurker work! Your style has such an oldschool charm to it, really brings me back to the early NE RCT1 days. It felt a bit light on the concept side of things, as other than the lighthouse there wasn't really much interaction or story connected with it.. The rides had some names connected to it, but other than that I didn't really get the theme, other than just a themepark that's sitting on the shore..

It was nice to just look at the coasters and the landscaping/foliage you've used throughout the park. Some nice supporting rides and color usage as well.

I love some speedbuilding (don't care what others say), and you guys created some great quality with the time you invested. Loved the concept of miniature versions of the world wonders, and they each were instantly recognisable and had some charm to them for sure! Nice height variations, terraforming and landscaping as well.

Too bad there was not more content, especially in the form of rides, could've at least added 1 I think :p But guess it also suits the concept of the miniature walkthrough/survey idea to just focus on those..

Great to see an entry of you Kenos! Although there wasn't really much to go through, I enjoyed what was there, especially the flume coming out of the pyramid (and the little sfrinx head where the flume enters the pyramid), the curved pathing area attached to the big bridge at the edge of the map, and the little colorful details on the buildings.

Wow, what an elaborate and nicely paced layout! Really enjoyed following it along, and must be an absolute thrill to ride that one! Great support work as well, makes it all more believable.

Lovely pathing (although another texture maybe would've sold the theme better), which also had nice interactions with the coaster.

Lovely foliage as well, really dig that deeper shade of green on some of the bushes to give it more depth.

Nice supporting rides as well, especially how Black Obelisk is nestled inside one of the last corners of the coaster.

Could've used some custom music though, for the atmosphere.

Wow, what a coaster! Apart from the first little hill after the launch (must be painful :p ) I really loved it! Going through the pyramid like that and around the landscape was done so wonderfully and it kept its pacing all throughout.. Again, I might sound like a broken record, but would be an absolute thrill to ride this! Also, that support work is some of the best I've ever seen, especially around the pyramid.

The little buildings are also done so tastefully; not overdoing it, but adding just that much detail that it keeps it interesting.

Lovely peep scenes throughout the map as well, keeps it interesting to look around the map and discover new things, poor Steve :p

The crunch in both the pathing and landscaping was also so well done, really gives it that Egyptian desert vibe! Also glad I could help out in time with those half diagonal grass trims, they were used so well to create a nice border of the map! Props on the water color and river bedding as well, gives some nice splash of color.

And finally, the soundtrack gave it such a nice atmosphere, really felt like I was there :D

Bit of a toss-up between deano/fred's and this one, but because Ptolemy had a bit more content and had me engaged a bit more, I went with that one, but not by a lot.. Thanks for all the work guys!
