This is a really cool park! Fitting that this came out right after the 1.0 release of the game Hades 2 lol. I like a lot of what's going on here and I'm also left desiring a bit more in some aspects. The layout of the park is very well done with all of the rides being framed really well. the atmosphere is a bit off from what I would expect from this theme. I think it would have been nice to have everything a bit darker.

Foliage and Landscaping: No real complaints in this regard. There are some minor nitpicks I could make but nothing major. the foliage in particular is done really well.

Architecture: I think this would be a really difficult theme to pull off properly in NCSO but I wish everything was a bit more dark and viby. I definitely get an Olympus vibe with the Archy style throughout. I think it would have benefitted from some more darker grays and fiery effects.

Overall: This is a really fun submission which makes me want to immediately continue my playthrough of Hades 2. I really enjoying viewing this park. I'm rating this a solid 60%.

This should get some more love. Excellent job showing us what's possible with no cheats NCSO. Obviously, there's more that could have been done with full access to cheats. But things like placement, park planning, and most importantly, the invert layout, are all independent of a workbench.

Great layout, that alone is design worthy to me. Was fun following along the planning aspects of this, resulting in a nice map with plenty of good interaction and some surprisingly good cheat-free architecture. I may have omitted the small snow section on the mountaintop, but otherwise there's a ton to like here.

This needs more love indeed! Was fun seeing this in the game after watching it come together in your videos. Superb layout and fantastic interaction with the landscape, paths and supporting rides (definitely a good lesson for those following your series!) Strong use of colour and the buildings are surprisingly varied considering the limitations you adhered to. Defo a little rough in some areas (e.g. the big main waterfall is kinda blocky) but considering you were under time pressure AND building without hacks or CSO, I think it turned out really well. Looking forward to seeing what's next!

This is definitely a strong map and im super impressed by what you managed to do without cheats. The layout and overall composition is fantastic. Foliage is another highlight to me and the limitations of no cheats are not felt super strongly here. The same cant be said about supports, which are quite lackluster to me, but you did your best with what is possible. Was also awesome seeing this park being built on youtube and hearing some of the insights! Great work Sammy!

It was awesome (if not scary as hell) seeing you enter this contest and sticking with the Fundamental Forest ruleset. Scoring as high as you did without any hacks whatsoever is super impressive. Copypasting my review from the DKMP contest.

"This rips. Best layout of the contest. Great take on a big modern Beemer with tons of interactions and viewing points. Shoutout to the splash zone pier area with the back view of the cobra roll which I just realized today would probably be cooler to see than the tropey bridge view. Very similar to what I wanted out of Earthwyrm. It's pretty insane that you got something this detailed yet readable without any recolorable scenery or zero clearances, although the Greek theme isn't as clear as it could be with the limited object palette. Regardless, the (ahem) fundamentals carry over and the foliage and park layout are pretty stellar. A lot of players could take notes from this entry. Shoutout to the mechanics being named after the regular Fundamental Forest commenters; that's just adorable.

Always nice seeing some new blood popping off so quickly! Come to NewElement and try some custom scenery and hacks some time! Imagine how good at this game you would be!"

Another great design to add to the list. I do say that no hacks makes me feel uncomfortable but that's definitely a 'me thing' simply because I hate restrictions when building. Brilliant layout, top notch fundamentals, you're playing the game your way which always inspires me. Great work as always.

I've been wanting to check this out! Having seen some of the park in your videos or in screens, I expected a higher score actually. But a 68% is not bad nor unreasonable, and it doesn't affect my enjoyment of the map - and my enjoyment is rather high here!

Like others have said, the layout is excellent and I really like how it's embedded into the environment. The queue interaction and subtle elevation is also cool. I like how deceptively compact the design is here, without it feeling out of place in an otherwise spaceous map. Supporting rides are all good to great. I appreciate the unique layout for The River Styx, or should I say THE RIVER STYX (not a fan of the all upper case names to be honest)? Two large drops in succession is a pretty wild choice. Architecture: sometimes a bit blocky and sometimes the subpar NCSO solutions hurt it a bit, but the overall aesthetic is very nice. Dark blue and dark red as accent colours is inspired. Lastly: I appreciated the funny naming. It always makes me laugh a bit when there's an intensely themed environment, and then a restaurant has a stupid name like "Circe's Soup".

Here are a few things I liked:

    Cool canopy design

    Nice bridge moment

Diagonal footprint terrace! Very atmospheric area here.

As a panelist I would've given this an upward leaning 70%. As a piece of a larger map, it easily could've ended up contributing to a higher, 80%+ score. Lovely work Sam! Hope to see you do a large traditional theme park in 2026.

Thanks so much for the design! and thank you all for the thoughtful feedback, i'll definitely carry it forward into the next project.

it was really fun to do such a restricted entry, and i feel like i really met the goal i set for myself - not only in achieving 5th in the contest, but proving that "tone is in the hands". Except for RCT, and not stringed instruments. I'm surprised I haven't happened across that parallel before...

tangent, i know, but I'll briefly explain for the lucky people who aren't in the modern music world. "the tone is in the hands" basically means no ammount of expensive instrument is going to make you sound good. only practice, study, knowledge, and commitment will do that. another famous one is "all the gear and no idea". thats often an insult in the community, but i guess we could adapt it to a more friendly place in RCT. "all the gear and no idea" would be modern OpenRCT. you boot up the game as a newcomer, someone recommends an amazing bench by frags or xtreme or someone, and tells you to download scenery manager. but what use is that without the damn fundamentals!!!!! a suffocating amount of options

but anyway, thats nothing we didnt already know. a huge huge thanks to the admins for letting me add this to my page and to the panel for voting. i've been really flattered by the feedback from the community.

Been so focused on Phoenix that I have been meanineg to just spend time and check out all the releases and this is one that has been towards the top of the list for me and I must say it didn't disappoint.  Also impressed with those that can work such goodness without using custom scenery.

I agree with the others that having a strong layout is vital to making the rest of the park/design great.  All the various little interactions with the paths and other rides are something I strive to accomplish and this is a masterclass in that aspect.

Well done on the the Design.  Now I need to get back to work making sure your rides are in top working order ;)

If not, cool off on THE RIVER STYX… But keep your wits about you, as the River of the Dead has surprises all of its own…

Created using the “Fundamental Forest” ruleset - no hacks aside from “disable support limits”. Mechanics named for my top commenters (as described by YouTube)
