Well this is really nice to see. Absolutely beautiful park with a fun theme. The vibe is really nice throughout the whole park. Everything looks pretty cohesive also which is really cool given how different the theme of some sections are. The music also adds a lot for me. Great song choices from all of the trilogies that you are referencing here.

Foliage and Landscaping: I think this is the weakest part of the park (even though its still pretty decent). I had the same complaint about your previous park as well. While I really liked the object selections that you chose and there were a lot of really well done areas, there were also a lot of areas that felt like they lacked polish. For example, you have areas like this which look really good and really well thought out:

Then you also have areas like this where it looks like you just randomly threw down a few objects

I feel like I might be coming off as overly critical about this so I want to reiterate that I like the foliage is still better than average but I have higher expectations for you given how good everything else in this park is. I have similar issues with the landscaping throughout the entire park. Some area look top notch and other areas look a bit rough around the edges. I think there were a few too many rock objects for my liking in general.

Architecture: On the contrary, this is the highlight of the park for me. Every bit of architecture is extremely impressive. The castle blew my mind on first viewing. This half diagonal section is some of the best RCT I've seen in a long time.

This extremely high level of architecture continues throughout the entire park with honestly no weak buildings. Even the back stage stuff is really impressive. Good work!

Rides and Everything Else: I don't really know much about layouts (as anyone who's seen me try and make a layout knows lol) but your coasters all look like they flow well and look fun to ride. One of the things that really made this park special is all of the little details from the trilogies that you are referencing. For example, this little stars wars vehicle is built so well. I'm extremely impressed.

The spaceships, hobbit holes, and even the boat were really well constructed and look great! It really adds a lot to the atmosphere and vibe of the park.

The crunch could use some work in some areas of this park. Particularly on the lighter gray roads the crunch looks pretty rough. I wish you would have found some objects that blend better there. Otherwise, I don't really have too many other complaints.

Overall: I'm rating this 85%. Its really high level work which makes sense given your track record. I had a lot of fun viewing this and writing this review. You should be proud of the finished product!

First reaction is you are just such a special builder for this community. I had the pleasure of getting early access to this when you submitted it both times, and the level of detail and speed you harness in your releases is unmatched. More detailed comments coming soon but I just wanted to say thank you for all your amazing RCT.

Can't wait to check this out in detail - looks amazing. You're the king of half-diagonals haha

A really beautiful park. The theming is so effortless, and I really liked how this time you used your micro skills to great effect, while being a bit more modest about them. Where before you often put micro first, this had more balance with the macro. Your use of half-diagonals I found quite inspiring, as you apply a true 360° understanding of the map and directions the park can expand towards. It created a new sense of RCT that impressed me.

My main criticism would be the coaster design. While nice, I wish the coasters had been integrated better into the park. They were often aside on plain ground, disconnected from the world of the park. Even where the track was close to the (absolutely gorgeous looking) castle, it felt like there could've been done more to make it speak to its surroundings, or expose track elements to theming elements and paths better. It's not like you didn't do it at all, for example the spooked house with the trains passing through was great, and also the Star Wars section did this better with its coaster. But I still felt this was an aspect that could help receive more attention in the future.

Obviously well done though overall, very befitting for a red name. Congrats on the release.

Cool park overall. Having been to the Harry Potter studio tour in England recently, I appreciate what you have here a lot more than perhaps I have previously!

With the Star Wars area, would have been nice to have seen a bit more texture and grit.. seems a bit too smooth/polished. Regardless, it is my favorite area of the the three. Nice clean open courtyard with some nice shapes with the architecture. Cool custom ships and vehicles too.

The LOTR area is neat.. rare to see that IP explored in RCT. Just wish you went bigger with it perhaps? Seems a bit squat in comparison to the other two... and I'm thinking more of the Elvish (sorry I forget the name) side, not the Shire side. The Shire side is lovely.

Anywho, good to see you back sir!

Despite my joke in discord about the building the same theme as before, there is a lot to like in this map. The LOTR area is my favorite and I think the highest quality in terms of macro and general detail. you definilty improved upon the original wizarding world map with that area, I do wish that there was a bit more thought into the over all macro of the map though. It would have been a good idea to even out the areas so it wasn't a 60/20/20 split with harry potter being the largest.  the other two areas feel like afterthoughts because of this.  Your ride design in general feels a lot better this go around in comparison to previous maps as well.  The only gripe I have is the single rail coaster.  It just doesn't have a great flow to it and feels too short of a layout, granted it does look like there's more inside, but still.  Overall, great park, but it doesn't quite hit that spotlight level for me.

Another month, another spectacular Babar park, at least that's what it feels like!

I have mad respect for how you just build what you want, at the pace you enjoy the most.

Overall, I just have so much praise for this style. Your use of half diagonal is something far above my own skill level; whenever you've got me slowly dismantling your park to figure out exactly how it's all done that's as good as form of praise as I know!

Some things I really liked about each area:

    - Malfoy manor. The green in the windows really pops.

    - Hogwarts roofing: such a good variety of textures and shapes, it really gives the map this one central focus for viewing.
    - Backstage areas throughout: really good context, level of detail and really sells the universal vibes of the park
    - the colors in rivendell: the orange eaves and olive foliage shouldn't go together, but they do: it's all really appealing and instantly sells what you're looking at.
    - the pathing in the shire - the cobbles with mud trails over are perfect. Just everything feels just right again for the theme.

The Minas Tirith area looked more like Osgiliath to me, which I guess is no bad thing. They are very similar - it's just the lack of the dramatic landscaping which defines Minas Tirith.

I think Hogwarts has the same problem, a little bit. I know at IOA it's not close to a 1:1 scale building, but from the path, the verticality of the castle above the guests is super clear. As it is, the color and vertical positioning of the castle makes it feel too flat and not distinct enough from the rocks, for me.

The star wars area feels a little color washed too. Just some more pops I think would go a long way.

I'm nitpicking; I just wanted to write a little about why I dropped down to 80% on this although I feel a little harsh doing this because I love your build style so much.

Congratulations on another gold, Babar. It's well deserved and your parks landing in the release queue will always be nothing short of a delight for me.

I knew you were building on this but I keep being baffled by your speed and productivity. Another Babar park to enjoy, in your fluent style where it seems like the game has no grid for you.

I like the HP and SW universums so it was cool seeing it done really well in game. It all felt very recognazible and it made me want to put one of the movies up. Not really familiar with LOTR but that area looked good too ofc. I kinda do agree with Scoop that the park macro isn't great. The SW and LOTR areas together are still smaller than the HP area and from the LOTR area there's no path connecting with the other side of the HP area. It's a dead end. I did also found the entrance of this park really small, a park with these 3 IP's would attract huge amounts of visitors and would need a bigger entrance.

I understand this park started as a HP park and then you wanted to add those other 2 IP's as well, which is understandable but I think that could have been handled better.

You are getting better on the coaster lay-out part. The Golden Snitch is easily the best Babar coaster for me. The Azkaban coaster wasn't bad either and I really liked how it starts and ends under that bridge. Great interaction. I think that's your next working point: trying to have more interaction with the coasters, with the the buildings, path and environment. And not just placing them outside the park on an empty plot of land.

You're a unique builder Babar and I'm glad you're here so we can enjoy your work.

Trying to get through my to-do list of reviews! Absolutely loved this park - and the fact it felt like a bolt from the blue is a nice bonus - very unexpected.

Overall I think the whole park feels very believable (although obviously high-budget!). The general layout with the paths, plazas and big set pieces feels very real. Speaking of set pieces - there's some amazing stuff here. Obviously things like the huge Hogwarts castle and quidditch pitch, but some lovely smaller moments too like the Hogwarts Express, the Millennium Falcon (!!!) and the hobbit houses. All really well put together.

The backstage areas are super impressive too - clearly very utilitarian but at the same time dynamic enough to be interesting to explore (e.g. the little walkway between two buildings).

Your use of half diagonals and flowing shapes is clearly a strength and something we can all learn from! Also shout out to the music which really adds to the immersion.  The coaster layouts are fun, although I'd say that the two main launched coasters which share the same track type almost feel like they occupy the same niche, albeit one has the motorbike cars. Still, might have been nice to have something a bit more differentiated.

As others have mentioned, the lack of balance between area sizes feels a bit odd, although I don't really mind that. The park generally feels a bit hemmed-in by the surroundings too (e.g. the closeness of the parking areas) - but again there's plenty of real-life precedent for that e.g. Phantasialand etc. I'll also echo others' comments about the entrance feeling a bit subtle - it could definitely have a bit more grandeur considering the ambition of the inside of the park.

Overall - I'm a big fan! Congrats on the gold!

very much enjoyed this park as you can tell by the score, there are sections of pure brilliance and the rest is very high quality too. harry potter is a definite high point - as much as i enjoyed the other areas, harry potter felt like a magical and fully fleshed out park section.

as others have mentioned, the half diagonal usage is clever and feels natural.. the whole park feels organic and clean, with interesting layouts.

My one negative takeaway was the overuse of brown - obviously you've picked three fairly brown themes, but there were definitely parts that could easily have been a different color and would have allowed them to stand out, but them being brown on a generally brown background kinda blends everything a little too much. would love to see you tackle a "colorful" theme next as a challenge for your style, although it's very obvious that you're perfectly happy building whatever you want to... and we're very lucky you do.

I agree with many of the comments above, this feels like a collection of your greatest hits juxtaposed into something fresh. While I wouldn't say any of the coasters here are personal all-timers for me, I think they're a massive improvement from your previous designs, which shows you do know how to make solid coasters. Keep leaning in this direction.

  • Description

Initially, my idea was to create an area dedicated to the world of Harry Potter. I submitted my park in October, but in the end, I decided that I could propose a more complete and polished project. I wanted to work on an area dedicated to The Lord of the Rings, and I also added a small Star Wars area to complete the park. So here is Trilogy Park, a world dedicated to the great film franchises of my childhood.

    Hope you will enjoy it!
