Epic park man, some great coasters in there. Great to see some fantasy as well

I believe that people define anything that does not resemble a real life park a "fantasy" park, when really it's just something really weird and clumped together randomly. Not to disrespect WME, but I feel this park has this aspect in it, too. To me, a good fantasy park is one that has a concept pulled through, like "Walkman of my brain" or the Escher park, ... or pretty much everything done by cbass. The Alian Invader creation by Phatage comes to mind, too. I like this kind of stuff and think it should be rewarded. But I just don't like randomness ... and how it is being labelled "fantasy" when it's just something completely undefinable.

I think WME was just having fun with building this, and didn't really care what people might think of it and if anyone would like it..

I think we should just look at it as what it is, and although it's not my style at all, I can appreciate the effort WME put in and I can definitely see he had a lot of fun with the game..

    Congrats on the Gold, WME.

    From the readme:

If you do ask yourself the question if any of it has any meaning, yes it does.

So apparently there is a concept, although it's probably something personal unless WME failed making it clear, which I don't expect from him.

I thought the park was sick. I shrunk my resolution to 600x800 and the park still lagged! I enjoy everything in the park, but damn, it is dense! I've never seen a park that is more 'exhausting' than this one. I wanted to discover the whole park but I quit exploring halfway because it was just too much. However when I feel like it sure I'll continue to look at this, there must be a lot of cool things I missed.

So far I liked Bandit the best, the layout was just insanely compact. It reminded me of a whac-a-mole game, with a train instead of moles: you never know where it appears next. That made it fun to watch!

My score would be 15/20, based on what I've seen so far. (expecting the same quality in the areas I didn't explore yet)

Congrats on Gold, I hope to see more of you sometime.

The skill is to communicate info from the park itself, not from a readme, forum post, promo video, or anything else.

Perhaps you didn't mean it this way, but I don't think accolades should be awarded because the parkmaker had such and such level of enjoyment making it. I think, however, that if this same enthusiasm is successfully conveyed in the quality and entertainment value of the park, then it is quite possibly deserving of something.

I think I find myself in the same boat as posix, in that everything is at once very distracting of everything else, and it seems to be an explosion of ideas that is yet to be organized.

Awesome stuff Evil. Pure RCT joy. One of the things I've always enjoyed most about your parkmaking is how versatile you are. You can make something very realistic and believable and then you can make something like this. Very few people are capable of doing both styles well. I think I saw most of this a long time ago, and it impressed the hell out of me then and still does. I wish there were more parks like this because I think it helps to expand people's ideas of what a coaster can be.

An "explosion of ideas" is a good way to describe it, gir. And that's the beauty of it. Usually when you make a park you take your explosion of ideas and file it down and polish it and throw out some of the weirder ones and what you get, if you do it well, is a nice little cut diamond like a jeweler would put into a ring. But there's a crazy kind of natural crystalline beauty in leaving all the ideas spontaneous and mashed together like this too. Kindof a left-brain/right-brain thing. Sometimes too much conformity and realism starts to feel a little cramped.

eh, i read mala somewhere and got really disappointed when i opened the park. then i thought it was just some new person who i have no idea who any of you are anymore who used some old coasters that wme just did one day for fun and released on the forums or something.

i'm more than willing to explore the most crowded of parks but i really didn't feel like most of this was fueled by any inspiration. idk maybe i'll look at it again sometime.

I agree with Phil, the park needs to convey meaning not the readme. However, I doubt that you found the readme too extensive.

First of all, thanks everyone for taking a look at the park and I see that a lot of people really enjoyed it.

The discussion is an interesting one. I don't think this park has much of the conventional, sought-after meaning. However, to note it only as chaotic and having fun, to me, would be a mistake.

I intended this park to stretch the limits of RCT. I don't think many parks before this implored so many coasters, so many unique layouts, such speed, such ratings in a fitting environment. (which also has very extreme height differences, theme differences, etc.) I think the end result looks quite smooth and, to me, that wasn't easy to obtain. I hope everyone can see this as a new, or some would call it old, way to play rct.

If people find this chaotic, I urge people to try and make a park with the same amount of coasters, ideas and landscaping on a map this size. I don't believe this look to be easily achieved.
I don't believe you have to plan everything out either. Yes, it was made chaotically, that's how I work. The end result is far from thrown together though, in the sense that I constantly had to remove coasters, buildings, and layouts, change little and big details, in order to make everything work like I believe it does as a whole. As the building process progressed, I spent longer and longer fitting the new things in. The Monster was the last coaster created, exactly on the space I had left. Without it being too tall in places that other things could not be seen, without it running through an area that I already liked as is. Vampire Bat was largely constructed in similar manner. The park is truly peep-able which is something you rarely see in much, much smaller parks. I can't begin to explain the difficulty or that.

I am with Kumba on this one, you need an open mind in order to appreciate what is there. I did not try to make a good realistic park, or maybe even a good fantasy park. I tried to mesh, to create something with my own flare, to add in the extremes, to play rct my way. The hard thing was to make it all look nice. I believe I succeeded in what I set out to do.

Furthermore, I would just like to say that I didn't know what to expect from either the accolade panel or the rest of the site. When I sent this park in I honestly was clueless about the end-result, and it's great to see it win the highest accolade possible (although I would have loved to have seen a spotlight vote, I don't know if it deserves it). I really enjoyed looking at the comments, both positive and negative. I actually like creating a park that shocks to the point that not everyone likes it. I hope it inspires some to look at RCT in a different way.

I might add some more to this when I am able to look back at my park, since I haven't done so in a while. Greetings everyone from Kiev, from a very, very happy Markie ;P.

I just posted my thoughts on Garden Of Light, and the post went along the lines of 'I guess this park really shows how you can play RCT in so many ways.' This park is another one which fits into a category I just can't really get into or appreciate that much. It's just not what I like in RCT. For sure, I can see that the organised chaos is the result you were going for, and I'm sure that there is a ton of skill in fitting that many coasters on one map... but as I say, it's just not to my taste, I'm afraid. I very much agree with most of posix's comments...

So I can't really 'review' it as such, or even make too much of a comment on it, purely because it's not my cup of tea. It'd be like getting someone to review a load of different hip-hop albums when they actually liked classical music. So all I will say is congrats on getting the accolade - and it seems that the people that do 'get' this style of park really do love this release!

Brilliant park WME. one of my favourites of recent times :)
Looks like you had great fun designing this and pulled of a superb piece of work.

Congrats on the well deserved accolade

This looks like the natural progression of the kind of approach you brought to ANTI after the minetrain disaster.

Good to see you are still playing for the fun of nooks and crannies =) People will almost never realize the difficulty of this kind of construction, so don't worry about it, this isn't "for" them. Clearances be damned!

Only just had the chance to check this out.

Whilst the park was something I knew I wasn't going to be fond off I do have to respect you for the fact that you managed to do something like this.

I cant really give a massive comment on this or on what I liked or disliked as I couldn't really focus on anything properly in game.

It was really chaotic and made my game lag :p but i'm glad this got an acolade as it shows just what can be done with the game regardless of a map size.

    Sorry to bump....
but this is FAR and AWAY one of the best parks (in my opinion), id give it a perfect 20. Everything was great. And though alot of people dont like the chaos, i thought it was perfect. Every coaster in this park has a great layout and interacts amazingly with everything in the park. The monster was great and Demon Speeds was unbelievable. I think this should have been a spotlight.
