How could they even contemplate turning fever pitch into a film about american football? I'm sorry, but being a football (soccer fan), even if it is for the arse, is just a completely different matter - nick hornby's life revolved around arsenal... how can it work with the "boston red sox"? travesty...
looking forward to a few of them, but for my most anticipated film I have to go forward further to his dark materials, whenever and if that manages to surface. -

I am most looking forward to The New World, but Kingdom Of Heaven also looks wonderful, despite the fact that it is probably just another stupid Oscar-monger. In addition, Unleashed looks very interesting - and the score is amazing, along with the Johnny Cash movie, and - as always - all the major Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Independant, and World films.
The real question, though, is: how many will I actually see? The New World, and, um, that's it, probably. How could they even contemplate turning fever pitch into a film about american football?
It's about American Baseball, a sport almost as loved here as Football is there, and the only one as quintessentially "American" as Football is "British". Also, it's the only American sport where the term "pitch" is used even remotely frequently. -

If I'm not mistaken, "Dark Water" is opening in August. The trailer is here (http://www.apple.com...dark_water.html) if you want to check it out. It's from the same mind that wrote "The Ring", so it's somewhat along those supernatural-thriller (if you want to call it that) lines. I think it looks interesting, and no matter what...Jennifer Connelly is a pleasure to look at on screen.
So far, I haven't notice a whole lot of films that will be of award-quality. Maybe "Cinderella Man" will go up, but other than that, the quality films don't seem too promising this year. -

Yeah. that Fallon fag (who's a fucking Mets fan, mind you...or was until the Sox won the series) and Barrymore fucking ran out on to the field after we won. way to fucking cheapen the moment. I guarantee this movie will bomb in the New England region, and probably in the rest of the world too."Fever Pitch"

You mean: it's another remake of a another movie by the same guy who made the original film which was remade as "The Ring" (confusing, isn't it?). Anyways, it looks terrible, and, honestly, the original looks only slightly less terrible. -

Actually, no, I meant what I said. The short story that "Dark Water" was based on was written by the same guy who wrote the book that "The Ring" was based on. The guy who made the movies and the guy who wrote the stories are different people. You're right, the Japanese director favored the author a bit and directed the Japanese versions, but that's where the connection ends and not what I was referring to.You mean: it's another remake of a another movie by the same guy who made the original film which was remade as "The Ring" (confusing, isn't it?). The original Dark Water is the film that has scared me the most. I don't like horror films but my friends made me watch that. Argh I can still remember how freaked out I was.You mean: it's another remake of a another movie by the same guy who made the original film which was remade as "The Ring" (confusing, isn't it?). There are a couple movies I hadn't heard of that I am now looking forward to. The obvious one is The Producers Musical, since the first movie was incredibly funny, Mel Brooks is still involved, and they brought back the cast of what was supposed to be one of the best things to ever hit Hollywood.
If they do the Dukes of Hazzard right it will be a definate see.
Kicking and Screaming will be funny only because of Will Ferrell, he's got a Midas touch going right now.
The Longest Yard has shown promise in its previews.
Star Wars III is looking like the acting is better and the special effects will be top notch, not to mention the story sets itself up.
Charlie and the Charlie Factory...of course.
And Elizabethtown's cast is golden, I don't know if the story's good but I'll see it if it's not cheesy.
What's with Jessica Alba having so many roles lately....oh yeah, she's fucking HOT!!!!! -

Everything else looks kind of lame and unappetizing...
...is it me? Or are half the movie/games nowadays... remakes or sequels of different movies/games already made? I'll tell you, financially conservative values are the reason... when people take more risks and are open to new ideas, then those in the entertainment industry can follow suit and actually make something that ISN'T a rehash or doesn't rely on already existing nostalgia. The entertainment industry only does what is profitable... which is a shame since the idiots in this country make it very unprofitable to use an original idea for a movie or video game... it's making blitz very sad. -

I'm a little worried about the Hitchhikers Guide movie...as it will be brilliant or terribly sucky, without a middle ground. I am encouraged by the casting of the mighty Mos Def as Ford Prefect, though. Never saw that coming, but Mos Def is the man. -

No, it's the exact same film, just being released under a different title in the US, and possibly elsewhere.
