Ack. It's been a bad MONTH.

My project was due on Friday. I planned on posting this yesterday. Then I completely lost internet for the entire day. So it goes up today. We weren't cheating, ride6, just to let you know. Don't believe the crap Kumba spouts. ;) Besides, our park has been done for like three weeks. Anyway....

THE FINALS ARE UPON US! This one pits the surprising Flying Germans, rated by many as the weakest team in the league before the season, against the favored Hurricanes. Ah, but the Germans have the ace in the hole. Twice. So we'll see how this leads.

For Game 1, the matchup REALLY reminds me of Week 2. On one hand, we have a classy, beautiful park with a terrific dueling B&M coaster and a couple of other flat rides. On the other hand, we have a very flashy, wow-type adventure ride that incorporates several once-used ideas into a map. I have my own opinions on each, but it SHOULD be a close matchup, as once again, style pits itself against flash. Who will win? Vote now!

Hurricanes vs Flying Germans Game 1

Finals Park GAME TWO Will be Due FRIDAY, May 6, 2005.
Send them to nedesigns@gmail.com and be sure to include "H2H Submission" in the title, as well as the park name and who made it in the body.

Updates will pick up now that I only have two finals and then summer vacation. I'll be working this summer, but should have good time to do stuff.

But just to give you an idea of what April gave me, this is what I had to do for my Writing 340 class:
    - 12-page research ethics paper about the effectiveness of USC's General Education plan, with theorists needed to support our point and suggestions integrated in an academic style paper
    - Writing portfolio, where I take two of my previous paper and improve them so that nitpicky writing professors from all backgrounds can analyze it to death

But the real killer was architecture. I had to design a stage theater (live performances) this semester on a site located in North Hollywood. AustinPowers might know my pain, but my final requirements were as follows:

    - Full building model at 1/16" = 1'0"
    - Section cut model through theater house at 1/4" = 1'0"
    - Detail section model with structure and HVAC at 1/2" = 1'0"

    - 5 building plans (basement, first floor, second floor, catwalks level, roof plan) at 1/8" = 1'0"
    - 2 building sections at 1/8" = 1'0"
    - 1 detail building section at 1/4" = 1'0"
    - 3 colored and shaded building elevations at 1/8" = 1'0"
    - 6 building diagrams illustrating conceptual and programmatic ideas
    - 1 building structure axonometric line drawing at 1/8" = 1'0"
    - 1 section cut perspective at 1/8" = 1'0"
    - 1 detail section with materials and structure, mechanical systems at 1/2" = 1'0"
    - 4 computer renderings of my building

My drawings, composed together, will take up a board that measures 16' long and 6' high.

So most of you will have no idea what I'm talking about, but that's what I had to deal with. I also had two midterms in April that were comparitively minor but still things to worry about.

    *deep exhale*

I can "relax" now. All I have for May is two finals, a portfolio, architecture reviews, and work. Piece of cake in comparison.

Wow. That makes my 2-3 research paper on Live Aid for Humanities (combined Lang Arts & History) and my 5 page with map and additional visual aid plus two minute in-french presentation all due on tuesday a week out seem light.

Oh and I'm going to be out of town next weekend. lol.

But you had it a lot harder man.
