H2H3 / Game 2: Hurricanes vs Flying Germans

    Best idea, ever.

Ditto. I love that idea. It would clean these matchs up in a big way, only the admin.s would be able to see it and I trust that they're all honest types anyway.

Here's the biter though: The Flying Germans have only 1 parkmaker (X-sector) and no one being promoted to parkmaker for NE3... Strange in a way isn't it?

Poor slob with his curse. 8@

    And Kumba- LMFAO @ You.

I think an idea that might be handy to try, whether or not voting is done in secret, would be to release the parks, wait around 24 hours, then open voting. That way people are not voting on the immediate effect of the park but on the overall quality as a whole, discerned through the time they are given to look through it extensively. Examples of great skill or great effort can also be picked out and appreciated more, and thus contribute to people's voting. There were several match-ups this year in which I would probably have reversed my vote after looking at parks for a while. I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a period of delay to look at parks. If anyone has ever done a Document Based Question (DBQ) in AP US History it would be sort of the same thing. You look at the documents for 15 minutes and decide your opinion or point of view then, then start writing - instead of immediately starting to write and running the risk of realizing, a while later, that your thesis contradicts what you find in the documents and what you think about them. The documents in this case are the details, aspects and nuances of the parks. I think we ought to make people look at them before deciding their opinions, instead of deciding first and then viewing them in more detail.

Honestly I think the best way to handle next season is to have a commite of the captains before next season re write the rules and make sure they cover everything that could happen.

I definitely agree. The one thing I do apologize is springing a few changes sort of on the fly. I think they were changes for the better, honestly, but it's still kinda odd I suppose.

See, if we had vBulletin, we could set the poll to be anonymous and expire after a certain amount of days. That and the rep system is basically the only thing I wish we had that's from vBulletin. Adix sez it's a bitch or something tho, so *shrug* Otherwise, Ed's got a good idea, but I don't want to go resetting ballots every time for H2H.

The wait 24 hrs thing does sound like a good idea. I wouldn't eliminate all impulse votes, but it'd prolly do a decent job clearing stuff up.

One request to X-Sector and whoever his partner was (I think X250?)... could you guys finish your H2H park anyway? I'd like to put it up against ours just for fun, as a sort of bonus thing. Seeing as how it can't really be released as a Design or qualify for Spotlight/Runner Up, we might as well just finish the parks and post them. Of course, the deadline is now a moot point, since the contest is over, but if you want to set another, continue using this Sunday, or just send it to me whenever, that'd be cool.

It'll just be a little "what if" scenario, since frankly, I'm not sure what I'd do with my park either. Knowing how it works, though, I'd lose by one vote cuz Slob helped make it and he's cursed and the curse would rub off on me.

Lemme know your thoughts. I'll PM this to you two as well.

    1. Read the top of the page.
    2. Downsize your sig to 500x100.
    3. Try and be less of a retard in future.

    Thanks.
