Ask the Experts / 'Trees' Scenery Tab

I need help. To save space, I take out the trees from the small scenery tab in the scenario editor and put on the MT version of them in the large scenery tab. I still have some in the small scenery tab, though. In the SE, I can still use the trees that I left in the small scenery tab. However, when I am playing the game, the 'Trees' tab disappears and I can't use the other trees. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or do I have leave the trees in both tabs and just not have as much of the other small scenery that I got rid of the trees to make room for?

I think you need at leased 1 object in each default tab, and those fall under that catogory.

It's happened to me before with my last solo and design. The only thing that works is reinstalling the game. But make sure to keep the saved games you want!

Having the same problem not myself. I just work as much as possible in the SE, and then use custom scenery for the rest. Until I get the chance to re-install, its a problem I'll deal with.

Kumba is right. you must have one defauld object in every standaard theme group.
else the savegame wont load also.

Kumba and Levis are indeed correct. Try adding one of the original 1/4-tile garden objects, which should activate the "gardens" scenery tab and hopefully fix your problem.

Wasn't he talking about the trees scenery tab, though? :<img src=:' />

Trust me, it will fix the problem.

For some reason, the game removes all default scenery tabs if there isn't one object selected from each one.

^ It doesnt fix the problem.

I have the same issue (along with a separate one in a topic i posted) and I tried what you said, and no matter what the tree tab would not show up.

rct2 has a few objects that NEED to be in the workbench, if you use the no-cd-patch you can remove them from your scenario but that would cause problems in the game.
the red fir tree for example always need to be in you scenario.
if not the tree tab often will disapair.

I found out the solution. You do not have to re-install your game or anything. All you have to do is go back into the scenario editor and do what JKay said - select an original 1/4-garden tile object. That brings the trees tab back so you can use it in the real game. Levis, whenever I put even just one of the original trees back, I got an error trapper when trying to start the scenario after the SE. I think that the best solution is JKay's. :)

^Good to hear. Glad it worked!

Fatha' - I think your problem is deeper than the one here. It sounds like you must've elected not to use a lot of the original RCT scenery, which, based on my experience, can cause all sorts of problems with tabs not showing up and error trappers trying to get out of the SE. Hope you get it fixed though, I really want to see more of your RCT2 work.
