General Chat / NE Fantasy Football

I've created a NewElement fantasy football (soccer) league on the official premier-league website.

Its very simple, all you do is pick the best squad keeping within your budget, and you will receive points over the next season based on how well your players perform, for example; if they keep a clean sheet or score goals. I presume points will be knocked off for yellow & red cards, i dunno- i'll check the rules later.

Anyway if you wanna sign up do it here.

When you have registered, select the best team you can and click on 'leagues' on the right side.
In the box where it says join put in this code: 356969-61808

The season starts in 2 weeks time, so i'll probly close new entries then.

but yeah this is a bit too long-term for me. I really like World Cup football but premiership is a bit boring :-\

I'm a Wolves fan really, but Chelsea are like my favourite premiership team, plus i like Mourinho, he makes me laugh lol.

Anyone else interested in signing up for this? Not long to go till the season starts, so if you want to join do it now! Just pick the best team you can with the money, points are given for goals, assists, clean-sheets, playing a full game, keeper saves etc.... Points taken off for penalty misses, red cards, yellow cards etc... Its pretty in depth.
So if your interested in football or just want to make a team, look at my first post for instructions. I'll enjoy beating you all. =P

(Also, why was this moved from games&polls? Its a game init?)

There's a few other nifty things like you choose a captain each week from someone on your team, and he gets double points. Also you can make transfers by sacrificing a few points, and you get subs so you can choose who to play each week.

can the yanks in this thread pls stop polluting our beautiful game with claims of "commie-ball" and "chelsea!!0101!!!mourinho!!!" because a) your shit at it and don't know what you're talking about, and chelsea are the only impure thing in our league because their success is purely done to money - you want to pick a premiership team (PREMIERSHIP, not epl) and experience football as it really is, then go for a team like west ham, liverpool, tottenham etc.

in my opinion the yahoo league is the best one. i'm waiting for that before i sign up for anything else, it keeps u going all season. failing that, the soccernet one is best.

Chelsea is no different than Man U or Arsenal then.
If you were wondering the reason I'm into Premiership football is because of all the Portugies where I live, and given that Chelsea has a ton of Portugies and is coached by Mourinho, in this area Chelsea is well supported and so I've been converted as well. Sorry but I don't have geographic loyalties (well my town was named from Dartmouth in Devon, maybe I should support Plymouth Argyle?) so those are my reasons for supporting Chelsea.
