Ah, that's sweet guys. Take a few (dozen) trips through my favorite ride while you're at it. -

I agree with Ed. Executing him was done.
Pros
-----
-Retribution?
Cons
-----
-Stirring up violence, pissing people off.
-In some untold number of years, who is to say he wouldn't have had useful information.
I can't say I'm upset that he's gone or will be missed, but it seems like a foolish tactical move. If it were up to us. -

I don't think he's dead....
Why didn't they show a film of him actually hanging? If you can find one, please show it to me, because the only video I have seen is him wearing a big black expensive looking coat walking up to a noose, putting a thing around his neck so it doesn't scar, which I don't understand if he's gonna be dead, and then a load of people wearing masks tightening the noose. That is not good enough for me. I think he is still alive... -

A cell phone video of the execution has been posted to Google Video. A link is available at Drudge Report. He also had a photo of the dead Hussein up.I don't think he's dead....

Well, at least one country holds their leaders accountable.
Bush and the rest of his Republican idiots will be held accountable in November 2008.
As for Saddam... I just have a hard time caring or feeling anything about it. It's a "whatever" kind of feeling. A very different feeling from when Milosovic got convicted. That one I really cared about. Maybe it's because I expect that nothing will change in Iraq unlike the change I expected in Serbia. Iraq is fucked up so badly it will ever be fixed. Hanging Saddam doesn't change that. -

normally I'm agains the penatly of death but in this case I think you can call it an exception....First of all he didn't seem to regret anything so if he ever comes free he would do the same thing again. Off course this is for other also, but the problem is he is a leader of a country and still had a lot of people supporting him so if he ever came free he could get power again in irak.
That's why I agree to kill him for prevention.....if it is only for vengenge that its a bad thing. -

i don't think it stirred up violence, i think it just lifted the grasp that kept it contained.I agree with Ed. Executing him was done.

iraq's never been a 'real' country. it was synthesized by the british after they essentially conquered the ottomon empire with the ending of ww1. they didn't consider the different sects of islam [that don't really like each other] living in the region when it was partitoned, and now, about 80 years later, we're feeling the effects of that mistake through our own mistake. -

This should make for a good South Park episode.
lol, this is what I think about too, the pop culture references. But Saddam is already in hell South Park, I wonder how they'll work around that.
