All links to illegal downloads will be removed by the staff here. First offense will result in a warning. You don't want to be caught a second time.
BTW, Iron Maiden rules all. -

I can move it. I just didn't remember where the original was since I always use "View New Posts". -

I think you've got it in the right place now. I seem to remember it being it's own subforum on the main page like it is now. -

But WHY!! stop the "sharing" of our loved music. What the hell do you think I listen to when I'm playing rct?

Did NewElement get permission from Disney to use their logo and their brandname (their intellectual property) for their RCT parks? I sure hope so. I don't want Kumba to get grounded or anything. This just about covers it:

But we don't talk about the Disney Logo. We talk about music. And the team says that they don't want to have illegal music here, so we have to accept that.
If Disney sues Kumba because of the logo, then it's a different matter.Edited by MiFuNe, 01 February 2007 - 05:27 AM.

I don't think the use of Disney's logo is particularly illegal for organizations that are not for-profit organizations (such as NE) or individuals who are not selling nor profiting from use of said logo. Additionally, even if it WAS illegal Disney would be nice enough to have their lawyers send a letter requesting we take it down.
The RIAA, on the other hand, does not have their lawyers request you take down links -- they just sue you first then ask questions later. The risk is much much higher. -

Yes, thank God for good, wholesome corporations like Disney.I don't think the use of Disney's logo is particularly illegal for organizations that are not for-profit organizations (such as NE) or individuals who are not selling nor profiting from use of said logo. Additionally, even if it WAS illegal Disney would be nice enough to have their lawyers send a letter requesting we take it down.
That letter would be signed by Mickey Mouse, I'm sure. -

If you upload RIAA albums. Just a guess, but I think that accounts for ONE album that I uploaded (Songs for a Blue Guitar, and maybe not even that). Everything else I ever uploaded on here, was independant. The RIAA, on the other hand, does not have their lawyers request you take down links -- they just sue you first then ask questions later. The risk is much much higher.
I don't recall Kranky sueing anyone, ever, in the history of the fucking universe, so why not just add a "No major-label music" stipulation?
Or is all this too much to take in?
And for the record, I think the RIAA still serves a cease-and-desist to websites. In American law, websites are protected by a "safe harbour" law, basically meaning that they're not entirely responsible for content posted. If they know of something illegal being posted, they should remove it, once it's brought to their attention, but it would IMPOSSIBLE for a site like YouTube to make sure EVERYTHING on there is on the level. Use your fucking head, man, how much copyright violation is there on YouTube? A lot more than ever there was on here, that's for sure.
Since you're all such big fans of Wikipedia, here it is, laid down in such simple terms, that even a Kumba can understand it. Me, I'm not reading that shit.Edited by catachresistant, 01 February 2007 - 05:31 PM.
