Thank you sir.I was on active dute in the US Navy aboard the USS Ford here in Everett Wa.
I completely agree. The sad part of today/yesterday is that it feels like no one remembered it. It felt like I was the only one in the world walking through my town knowing and thinking about what happened seven years ago. I know the news was on, but everyone I talked to seemed to forget about it.
I hope 9/11 becomes more than just a normal day. I hope a special type of holiday commemorates days like it. Like an hour of peace, everywhere. -

I agree Rhynos, but the thing is, we don't celebrate Pearl Harbor anymore. We need to remember 9/11, but eventually we'll be healed, and it'll pass on and will be like December 7th is to us nowadays. -

Let's see, that was back in the 5th grade, when I lived in CA. So I wake up and my mom's watching TV. I'm like, WTF, she never watches TV in the morning. I go into her room to see what in the hell she's doing and I see the footage of the towers. It was shown over and over again (probably to ensure that we never forget), and I remember how horrifying it looked. When I went to school that morning, I was in a panic because the country had just been attacked, but yet everyone was just as happy as could be. It was like nothing had ever happened. Throughout the whole day, nobody said a thing. It wasn't until the next day that everyone started talking.
One thing I never did like about the 9/11 incedent was the fact that the footage was shown over and over on every channel. After the 1,000th time I was sick of it. I didn't want to see it anymore. -

I got home from shopping with my mum when my dad told us to turn on the TV.
I was like 10 years old, couldn't even understand what has happened until we talked about it in class the other day. -

I was at home on break from school (6th grade) and my mom called me, then came home and took me to work with her. I remember passing by our church and her asking if I wanted to go pray. -

They were flying around my neighborhood too. One of them broke the sound barrier, there was a giant boom and the entire house shook. Scared the shit out of me. -

I doubt they broke the sound barrier near a residential neighborhood, they aren't allowed to... A jet cruising at 400-600mph is enough to rattle your house. -

You mean a military plane or one of the actual planes that hit the towers?
Well I was in fourth grade, heard it on the radio and then watched it on TV. And I saw them get hit and fall, but I guess I couldnt comprehend just how bad it was, how much the event would change the country. I was probably used to seeing bad news on TV all the time, murders, war, etc, and at the time this didnt mean that much more to me. I remember going to school that day, it was almost like a rumor, I said something about it and some kid said it didnt really happen. Some people were even saying terrorists would be heading to Los Angeles next. For some reason I remembered that part clearly, as if it had actually been suspected to happen and been on the news, but somehow got lost in the midst of what happened in later years. -
