I agree, the dump-place has taken a turn in the wrong direction
It's not what it was meant to be and it is dominating the AD right now

you have to admit that the dump place is one of the most used topics at the site, maybe actually the most used. tells you there must be smoething about it people like. so it feels weird from an admin perspective to take away somthing people seem to enjoy.

 

4) It's hard to find back particular screens, because there's no way to search for them. If every parkmaker has it's projects advertised in a separate topic searching them back is way easier and quicker.

We could at least try and close the dump and see if activity and attention in the Ad. is rising again..

You could also see this the other way around, if you don't have a dump and someone like JoeZia, GigaG or me would post a topic with screens and people see the name of the creater on the index of the Advertising District, that they don't even bother anymore looking in it. That way you get a decrease of usefull posts, if someone like JoeZia, GigaG or me would post a screen in the dump (and I think everyone looks into that every now and then) then there could be more reactions on that stuff from JoeZia, GigaG or me. That's how I think of it, the names I am using are just random, it could count for everyone.

My best stuff is in the dump, bar my Lost Tours work. I like it, at least.

you haven't heard? that got finished awhile ago. it was released as an honorable mention because it didn't make a high enough score for bronze.

Gwazi started the Dump-Place inspired by the "Testtopic" on RCT-Guide. I think the true meaning of the testtopic was lost in translation.

The testtopic is for testing; posting finished or unfinished screens purely for getting merciless feedback.

A Dump-Place is for dumping screens, either for getting feedback or for teasing/advertising.

This might sound silly but I think a different topic title when the dump-place was started might have given the topic another outcome.

yes i was inspired by the test-topic at RCT-Guide. however, i did understand what it was used for; i explained that in the first post of this topic. i said that this topic should be used for feedback on screens or for putting screens that will never become a park/will never be finished. i never advocated using this place to dump screen after screen of the same project as if it were your ad topic for it.

this isn't how the topic is being used. perhaps you're right - a different topic title may have given another outcome lol.

Most people have a lot of work to do before they finish education for the summer so it's crunch time round about now. I finish uni in 6 weeks and after that I'm gonna sort my life out whilst undertaking some very big rct projects.

We have to hit a dry patch after such a good fiesta and the awards, I dunno it just seems like everyone is trying to mend something that they are not contributing to in the first place. Finish parks and we'll start to get 2010 truly underway.

Kumba is the Jackie Moon of NE. He wasn't the greatest manager of the site, but god damn if he can't promote a contest and come up with some good ideas. And he can play a little basketball.

Also, if you think the website is stagnating, then follow the advise of Ozone. Be the change you want to see in the world. Post some screens, ignore the noobs, and stop catastrophising about the end of the NE era. This website will be what you make it into, as it is almost completely based on member contributions and submissions.

Blah. I confess that I'm drunk again. This is not the first bit of misguided advice I've posted tonight, although this is considerably shorter than the last.

Yeah I saw the invert, it looked pretty good, no scenery though, just on the coaster designer.
