Music Forum / Album of the Year and Album of the Decade

    For me,

Nile - Those Whom The Gods Detest is album of the year, I would rate it 26/30 (Superb, 87%, Gold Award) on the Enns Rating Scale.

VIXIVI - Sweet Kiss and Faraway Dreams is album of the deade (and, for that matter, of all time), and it is is the only piece of media I would rate 30/30 (Paradisiacal, 100%, Platinum Award, Kevin's Choice Award) on the Enns Rating Scale.

    Any thoughts?

    EDIT:

    Non-Metal

Album of the Year: Eminem - Relapse
Album of the Deade: Eminem - The Eminem Show

Yeah I don't stray from metal much, and when I do it is quite concentrated.

I just realized, Embryonic got absolutely no love from this forum. Shame on you. All of you!

Not to say I'm naming any favorite albums. That's dumb.

i liked it, but it didn't hold my attention. that's just me, though. for example, right now, i'm in love with Hospice by the Antlers, which i've had for three months, but am just really listening to now.

AOTD: Can either go to Tha Carter 3 or Get Rich or Die Trying since both sold a million copies in one week and lived up to the hype for the most part for both albums.

AOTY: Honestly, probably Taylor Swifts Fearless. That girl really writes great songs that a lot of people can relate to. Idc, what anyone says, shes awesome at what she does.

So do a lot of other people and I wouldn't say she's even one of the best at it

She does have a much bigger potential audience that ranges from 10-25 year old girls though
Not to mention she's pretty good looking and that always helps

Not sure why you'd be interested though
I agree shes good at what she does but it's that along with the other factors that make her so popular

Far and away. Like no contest. But I haven't really listened to a lot of the albums I've picked up that came out this year... Mean Everything To Nothing is growing on me (since I just picked it up), and Daisy is a great album... *shrugs* I have but haven't really gotten into Embryonic, or Swoon... Wilco (The Album) is good, but nothing life changing or anything.

AOTD: Kid A by Radiohead, or Funeral by The Arcade Fire

This is honestly an impossible choice for me...

    Special Mention:
Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Give Up by The Postal Service
The Moon and Antarctica by Modest Mouse
Good New For People Who Love Bad News by Modest Mouse
    Yankee Hotel Foxtrot by Wilco
Black Sheep Boy by Okkervil River

Probably forgetting things, but yeah... :)
