what about the inverted b&m loop braces? it might take up some time, but damn would those look sick.
  • Goliath123%s's Photo
yes they would deffinately be nice, a proper mesh for the lift hill and maybe a 30* angle piece and a connector for a quarter tile support.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
How about a better way to support the corks in the cobra-rolls? I mean something like the connector pieces on this picture http://rcdb.com/2528.htm?p=12300

idk, also some fitting thicker supports for the lift hills or so since sometimes with a hyper or a Diver the standard B&M supps look a little flimsy
steep catwalks like used on Kumba
something like animated backpack storeage containers that open and close in the exit part of the station...

steep catwalks would be awsome. im gutted that diagonal loop brace doesnt work. still good for other inversions tho.

New roofs and wall textures and I will love you forever. Not coaster related but your last set of objects inspired me so much.

^If you use the diagonal horizontal connecter pieces on the corners of half-corkscrews they look alot like that actually.
I would love to see steep diagonal lift catwalks, like for a diver, and like BG ^ siad, some thicker supports for the same type of coaster.
Then you can make a shiekra rec

A little feedback on these object requests...

Invert braces is an idea I love, just again it's very tricky stuff. At some point I'll do them, just not for this.

Mesh for the lift is something I tried on the Kumba rec, but never seemed to get right, so I used that fishermen wall which was decent, but not quite what I wanted. SoK should have something better, but I am not exactly sure what I'll do yet. btw have a screen of a coaster with a 30 deg. support?

Well BG you can just use the brace I made and not paint it the same color as the track. That should make it look more like it does in that pic. Thicker supports... idk, I don't think that's something we really need. You can hack two of Toons together and they look okay. Might pass on the doors idea since animated is really annoying to make and there is no real way to make a storage/transfer station to work on a coaster that's running.

Steep catwalks are do-able. Their on my list with inverted loop braces as objects to make after SoK.

Thanks J K, just you'll need to be a little more specific on what textures :p

Shiekra rec, humm... would give me a chance to use my coaster splash breaks hack... ;)

Thanks for the suggestions guys. After the braces are done I can finish the spiral steps and do the safety nets set. Will have screens next week I hope. Feel free to post more ideas :mantis:

If I sent you some pictures of buildings and such would that be easy for you to do? How hard is it to translate textures etc into rct?

Aah, D00D! You think you could make us a set of egyptian wall blocks using the stuff Pierott was showing in his workroom topic? I think those would be really cool objects to work with, and they'd actually go along with your style really nicely. :)
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
oh I didn't mean animated objects for a transfer track, more like a place where you can throw your backpack in and they auto-seal and open for the designated train, like you have a red train and a red backpack-box in the station, it closes so nobody can steal your bag while on the ride...

Alright, with Red Quake done SoK now has my full attention. Still I want the supports done before moving on and that has been very annoying work. Don't worry tho, at this point I have come to far not to finish them. Still it is very tricky stuff with different elements needing different object sets. I need to do one of each on both the right and left large half loops and add to that me making two support types and it's a lot of work.

Here is a look at the newer one which I somehow got to work with Toon's 1/4 support objects, so there will be no need for new MT supports like im doing for the loop brace. Oh and yes it's a bit off on the shading and alignment, but that's easy to fix.

This is that loop again. SoK will come with a couple of choices for support length, but that could be limited.

I am on spring break right now, so maybe one of these days I can buckle down and just finish the whole set. I will be very glad to have it done and behind me...

I'm still not seeing the point of this, I understand that it's slightly more "realistic" but I'm really not sure how much "better" it is for the amount of work you seem to be putting into it.

    ^my thoughts exactly
  • SSSammy%s's Photo
don't be nay saying now gents.
  • BelgianGuy%s's Photo
I agree sam now you're talking like this but when they're here you'll simply use them as everybody else...
  • highroll3r%s's Photo
proceed definitely. those loop brace's look awsome and would really come in handy as ive allways hated the gap between the loop and supports. i loved all the objects from kumba and im sure ill love the objects made for this. btw what percent you at?
  • J K%s's Photo
The diagonals on the loop braces seem a bit pixelated so you need to fix them if that's possible. Also I still think the corners are quite sharp so a small moulded piece around the sharp corners will add a bit more detail and look awesome, whilst stopping the item from seeming so sharp.

Keep up the good work Darren. I do agree with J K's suggestion about the edges.

2nd pic, right triangle loop support thing has no shading.
