Although I'm not a big fan of the left turn only circuit, the competitive side of me can't resist getting involved even if I have absolutely no idea how this works (which didn't stop me from Survivor) so, sign me up. Yeeeehaaaawwww, Y'all!!! I'll be the Ricky Bobby "Me" team. -

Eh, I got nothing else with Cleveland sports in the crapper in all, count me in. -

I would sign up, however I have no idea how it would work, I understand fantasy football leagues etc, but am confused as to how it would work with car racing :S Maybe its because I have no knowledge of how NASCAR works.
If this was F1 I would be straight on it, but yeah, if a little bit more could be explained then I may jump in. -

How to Win
Segment Prizes
There are 3 segment prizes available. To win, earn the most points out of all other players during each segment
Grand Prize:
Win your league in segment 1 or segment 2 to be eligible for the ‘Chase for the Cup’ competition. If you qualify for the ‘Chase for the Cup’ in segment 3, beat the best players in the game to win a trip to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series year end banquet in Las Vegas.
Managing your team:
To win, manage a team of 5 drivers against a $100 dollar salary cap while picking drivers with the best chance at scoring the most points each week. Buy low and sell high to have roster flexibility. Driver salaries change each week based on performance, so pick your team carefully!
Segments:
•Segment 1: February 20 – May 15 (11 Races, Daytona to Dover)
•Segment 2: May 29 – September 10 (15 Races, Charlotte to Richmond II)
•Segment 3: September 18 – November 20 (Chase for the Cup! 10 Races, Chicago to Homestead)
If you win your league in segment 1 or segment 2, you qualify for the Chase for the Cup in segment 3, competing against the game’s best in the final 10 races of the season.
Scoring
NASCAR Fantasy Live is the first game of its kind to score your team of Sprint Cup drivers based on several statistical categories instead of just how they finish each race.
Drivers are scored across 5 statistical categories:
•Finish Position: 43 point scale – 1st place gets 43 points, 2nd place gets 42 points and so on, with 43rd place earning 1 point
•Place Differential: Starting position (based on qualifying order) minus finish position. +/- 1 point for each driver’s place differential. Example: If Jimmie Johnson qualified 7th but finished 1st, his place differential would be +6, and he would earn 6 points. If Jeff Gordon qualified 6th and finished 10th, his place differential would be -4, earning him -4 points.
•Pass Differential: Green flag passes minus times passed under green. +/- 1 point for each driver’s pass differential. Example: If Dale Earnhardt Jr. passed 20 drivers under green, but was passed 10 times under green, his pass differential would be +10, earning him 10 points. If Tony Stewart passed 10 drivers under green but was passed 15 times under green, his pass differential would be -5, earning him -5 points.
•Laps Led: Total number of laps led divided by 2. Example: If Carl Edwards lead 65 laps, he would earn 32.5 points.
•Fastest Laps: Total number of fastest laps divided by 2. Example: If Denny Hamlin recorded 50 fastest laps, he would earn 25 points.
Hope it helps -

Okay lol that is confusing haha, I have no idea whatsoever about NASCAR. I'll sit this out, but I'll be watching keenly. -

I'll join if you need one more. I don't really like NASCAR, but who knows? maybe this will spark my interest. -

I have to say, I really hate these 2-car packs we've seen in the Shootout and the Nationwide race. I know it was a good finish today, but in my opinion this type of racing is boring--I'd much rather see a 6-8 car pack duel it out individually. -

I agree. It made it real hard to pick my team also with this style. Will be glad to get to the normal races.
I did like the results though being a Kurt fan -

Well, week one is in the books and I must say it was indeed a wild card race. Even more so than the normal Daytona races in the past. Was a bit sad to see three of our teams not getting a roster in place however there is still time to make it up so be sure to get your teams updated prior to next week. if you don't make any changes, your current team will be used
Looking at the results there were a few items that stood out for me
1 - Trevor Bayne winning the race in only his second Cup race. The kid was strong all week and really raced well.
2 - 10 of the 12 drivers that made the chase last year had significant issues with only Kurt and Carl getting through it with no damage.
3 - CP6 getting negative 7 points this week! Looking at his team, I felt he had a very good chance of winning this week however all five of his drivers were involved in big crashes that really impacted his results. That said, I know he will be back next week.
4 - Will be interesting to see how JDP's strategy will work only having 4 drivers. Although it worked well this week, not sure the big picture plan will work out in the end.
5 - Congrats to K0NG for winning this first week. Nothing like getting your team in at the very last minute!
Looking at next week, we should see some normal results and I expect we will see some roster changes (I know I will be mixing up mine) prior to the next race.
Here are the unofficial resutls from week 1
Best of luck guys and I look forward to next weeks race.

I can't believe I'm 2nd considering how shitty this week was. Four of my drivers were involved in wrecks, and David Ragan screwed over himself at the end of the race.
