Who makes your dream Car(s)?

  • mardy%s's Photo
^^^maybe your'e right, cost many fuel and a Veyron is expensive. but it's a dream car... Always fun to have it! :D
  • Jaguar%s's Photo
The Veryon is overrated. The SSC Aero is cheaper than the 2 million$ Bugatti and it is also faster. Personally, I would like a jaguar XJ220 (hence my username).

^ sorry to be a smartass, but bugatti reclaimed the speed record with the veryon super sport at 267 mph. its actually pretty sick, and im not much of a bugatti fan. this is my dream...

My first car was a 1970, Mustang Mach-1 Cobra Jet. My dad bought it for me for my 16th B-Day as a kind of reward for turning pro racing motocross. Funny, I was able to make money riding a motorcycle on dirt before I was able to get a license to ride/drive legally on asphalt.

After breaking both of my wrists in a freak crash while practicing in the CA desert, I was never able to race at a professional level again, so in 1978, I got into in-home sales and found that I was rather good at it. So, I traded in my 'Stang and bought a used, 1978 Porsche 911sc to look successful when I pulled up to someones home.

*Probably the most fun car I've ever driven....

I would LOVE to atleast drive a Porsche 911 of some kind in my life.

Yeah....you really do want to at least drive, if not own, one of these.

Unfortunately, my need for speed caused me to lose that car...driving home from the Colorado River in the middle of the night, (by myself and completely sober) I opened it up and didn't see the rolling hills that were in front of me on the highway and went airborne at about 120MPH and went end-over-end a couple of times as my Porsche landed nose down and ended up in the sand on the side of the highway. Fortunately, some of my bro's were driving home behind me and saw me sitting on the side of the road, shaking my head and cussing myself out for being so stupid. The car was totaled.

So, obviously needing a vehicle, I decided to purchase my first ever, brand new car and thought that the 1979, Turbo Mustang Pace Car would give me the performance that I craved along with a new-car warranty.

This car was fucking AWESOME! Small and pretty...but, when that turbo kicked in.....had it up to 140+ on the freeways racing muscle cars and kicking their asses on a regular basis. Unfortunately (yeah, I was a bit crazy back then....this was in the beginning of my "Rock Star" days)...while coming back from a drinking session at the Mt. Baldy Inn, with my drummer riding shotgun, I forgot that there was a semi-tight, left turn at the end of a l o n g straightaway that we'd traversed many, many times at 100+MPH. Almost corrected in time...but, we hit the sand on the side and rolled quite a few times before landing upright again. Funny thing was...I tried to start her back up...and actually succeeded...before realizing that there were no wheels left to drive on. I'm amazed that the worst injury incurred was a small cut on my drummers hand. I had some shards of glass embedded in my head but, other than that, we were both fine. Cops and FD showed up and, since the adrenaline of the wreck hit me BIG time...I passed all sobriety tests.

While I'm on this subject...the closest I've come to being killed was a night that me and two of my bandmates were heading out to see one of our buddies bands headline their first Friday night gig. We barely got going and my Capri (sexy European thing made by Ford/Mercury) started overheating. So, we turned around just as we hit the freeway to go back to my pad to get some antifreeze. Halfway back, it really started steaming, so I decided to pull over and let it cool for a few. We all get out and just started talking...and, after about ten minutes, I decide that I'll get back in and start her up to see if the temp. has gone down enough to get back to my place. As I'm sitting in the car...I look in the rear-view and see this sedan (turned out to be a Plymouth Satellite) barreling down on me from behind. I know that I'm off to the right side of a left hand 'swerve' (like an 'S'bend left in RCT) and figure he's aware that it's there...but, I keep watching him come towards me and I'm starting to wonder. And, he's coming fast.
So, he hits me at about 50 MPH...the front of his car goes under the rear of mine, and I'm flipping end-over-end up the embankment in front of me. And, I was just checking the temperature gauge so I have no seat belt on. I remember thinking "no FUCKING way" and just grabbing the steering wheel. I also remember being halfway out of the windshield (that exploded on impact}...half of me out of the car and my hands having a death grip on the steering wheel as my car was flipping end-over-end up, and then back down the embankment...landing on the roof as it did so. I have NO idea how I somehow got my upper body back inside the car as this was happening...I don't know why I wasn't severed at the waist...but, I wasn't.
I lay there for a few seconds on the ceiling of my upside-down, totally destroyed Capri...asking myself if I was actually alive (see "Cool Runnings"). I heard people that were at a party on the street there saying shit like "Oh FUCK...that dude's fucking dead...no doubt!" "I don't even wanna SEE what the dude in the red car looks like!"....as I crawled out of my upside-down, mangled beyond recognition, sexy little European sports car.

Go figure that the fucking drunk asshole that hit me gets out of his car....face bloodied from the impact...and starts yelling at everybody around. Because it's not HIS fault that he didn't see the parked car (with flashers on) because it was dark. Not because he was hammered...I mean...if there had been sufficient lighting (his argument...or, his attorneys...later on in court) he would have surely been able to avoid this despite the .19 BAL. I had three layers of thick, chrome chains hanging from my belt...secured by easily removable clasps...and, as soon as I was clear enough in the head to see who the idiot was...went right after him.

Ehhh, the rest of this shit will be in my book. Sorry, Autin's proclamation of love for the Porsche 911 got me all sentimental....

    ANYWAY...

I guess my "dream" car would be either a classic, Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow or, since I was raised in a Ford family and never had the opportunity to own anything MOPAR....a 1970 Hemi 'Cuda...

But, I'm actually quite content with our Equinox that we purchased a few months ago...

A 69 Corvette Stingray Coupe with red interior and Sidepipes would do it for me.And for extra taste a fine hemi and the interior of a Corvette C2.
Or maybe one of those sweet LCs.Just like those old racing jaguars with the temprament of a Shelby Cobra.

K0NG, if you wrote a book, it'd be an incredible read, based on the stories you've mentioned on this site alone.
  • highroll3r%s's Photo
