So i've been around for a little while, not here though (i was just recently enlightened of NE). I want to preface my style a bit.(My first "decent park" is for download on here, my latest park is in process)Unlike alot of people here, i dont use a ton of hacks, they make the park unplayable. So i like to make things realistic and 100% playable. Aka you can do something without getting error trapper messages.

    Onwards to this....

In the mid 60's a business man purchased a couple acres of waterfront property, located on Seneca Lake in central New York. He transformed it into a very popular beach, naming it Seneca Beach. After operating the property as just a beach for nearly 10 years, the owner purchased 75 acres surrounding the park with the intention to grow Seneca Beach into a great family destination.

A more permanent entrance has been built.

The entry plaza is begining to take shape with a restaurant, outdoor eating area, and bathhouse for the beach.

The beach will remain closed during the expansion.

Reminds me of my first parks. A lot. This is better however. I quite like what you've done in the entrance area, only the last building is awkward because it has a blocky thing on top of the normal roof. If you want two stories, just make two stories under one roof. Looking forward to seeing more.

That yellow building looks pretty decent, love it. keep improving!
  • posix%s's Photo
Decent, solid, nothing extra-ordinary, but created with heart, and I like it. Hold on to this personal and healthy relationship you have with the game for as long as possible. It's great.
  • leonidas%s's Photo
Agreed. The yellow building looks quite good and the overall feeling works, I like it! ;)
  • TheDarkMaxim%s's Photo
Thanks for all the comments guys! On second look, i also disliked the one roof, so that was adjusted.

(Note: I meant to blur the back of the one building, it isnt finished and looks terrible.)

    Construction Continues.....

So here's some history about the property...around the turn of the century a sprawling manor was built on the site of the park. It feautred many other small buildings including an ornate gate adorning the driveway. In the early 40's after much neglect, the main home burnt to the ground, as the other structures rotted back into the ground...

Several buildings still existed when the land was turned into a beach, including the gate house. It was then repurposed as the entry gate for the beach. It has been saved again, now simply acting as a decoration.

    Attached Image: SCR263.jpg
Two slides named HydroForce have been built on the beach.

    Attached Image: SCR269.jpg
Ohh...i forgot the rollercoaster! Introducting Seneca Cyclone, built by the Philadelphia Tobogggan Company, it is one of the tallest roller coasters in the world at 95 feet.

    Attached Image: SCR268.jpg
It takes advantage of the tree covered hillside to provide even more fun.

    Attached Image: SCR266.jpg
The park also has two other rides currently, The Grande Carousel has been installed. Skylift has also been built, giving guest the opportunity to view the entire park, as well as Seneca Lake.

A large chunk of the park has now been developed.

The blue roof is horrible. I'd stick to a colour scheme for the whole area (not necessarily the same colours, not at all!) or think of some other constant recurring architectural features to make the whole thing more cohesive. You got some nice things going on but as a whole it's not really working as of now. Good luck, I think you got potential.
  • Xeccah%s's Photo
I feel that it is bad composition to have a quite tall coaster not just so close to entrance but parts of it to run parallel to it as well
  • TheDarkMaxim%s's Photo
Just a reminder, this isn't a modern park. For the woodie, i took some inspiration from HP's Comet (i know it was built in the 40's), quite similar in how it sits with the paths surruonding it.
  • Ruben%s's Photo
That's a lame excuse. Comet is surrounded by park on three sides, this coaster is built in the corner of the map making true interaction impossible on at least 2 out of 4 of it's sides.

Furthermore, if you try to hide behind it ''not being a modern park'' then get your homework done. '40s woodies would have way less banked curves, especially the higher ones. And then we haven't even discussed that highly improbable and very undersupported turn that goes down at rather high speed. If you wanna say it's a 70's park, then the comparison with Comet doesn't make sense, and whether it's 40's or 70's, or 2012 for what it's worth, the placement of that coaster is just pretty awkward, and that's timeless.

Really, good luck with it, you actually have got quite some potential, but don't try to bullshit your way out. Instead, take note and work on what needs doing. :) I can see you grow into a decent player, but not with such an attitude...

your park has a strange classiness thats hard to describe. I think it has to do with the objects you use, it really makes me think of retro rct2 disney parks like Tilted Acres and disney's phantasia

Ok...everyone has the right to their own opinions. I respect that 100%...but im going to discontinue this park on this site. I was warned that NE is quite picky about styles...thats fine i wont criticize that (except the bs around TT and WW). If you wish to continue to watch, im going forward on TPR.

It's not that we don't want to see you and you're work develop, it's that we want to help it too! We can't help if you throw away our thoughts. I don't aim to offend, but that's a rather immature state of mind. Over at TPR, you'll get a lot of positive feedback, but get nowhere with the game. I know my way around TPR, I was there for a year or two before I came over here. I haven't returned however, because I've improved so much just from looking at releases, getting and taking note of comments on my parks, and getting releases.

    Cocoa's comment was positive, lol.

Please, stay and let us help you!

PS, the BS about TT/WW is that not everybody has them, therefore not everybody can view the park. That's where that came from.

    Social darwinism at NE.
  • trav%s's Photo
Just let him go. If he's not going to accept advice and just moan, then we don't exactly need him here.
  • SSSammy%s's Photo
It is not the strongest who survive at NE, but those most adaptable to criticism
  • highroll3r%s's Photo
NE isnt picky about styles. NE is simply the best rct2 site ever and will remain to be the best forever. i think you should continue advertising this here but just accept and use feedback. ive tried TPR, to be honest i couldnt find anything as good as NE stuff, apart from some stuff from members who are here and there. all i can say atm is to take advice onboard. like fizzix said, Over at TPR, you'll get a lot of positive feedback, but get nowhere with the game. so true. i dont want to be a dick here but most TPR work is sh**. not to everyone this is just my solo opinion. listen to liam for a sart about that blue roof.
  • pierrot%s's Photo
You may find it isn't easy to take criticism from others at first. but just think about it another way.
'They just interested in your works, so want to give some constructive advise for you.'
  • Liampie%s's Photo
In contrast to apparently a lot of others here, I'm perfectly fine with you not taking advice to heart if you don't enjoy the game that way or just because you disagree with the given criticism. It's not like you have to obey. Do whatever you think is most fun. If you want to improve, you'll find that considering all criticism and suggestions to get better results will become fun. It will pay off.

Leaving because of this is just stupid.
