Yeah, with custom scenery and rides, RCT3 does turn into a spectacular game. However, without that, it sucks, while RCT2 holds itself pretty well.

realistic launch coaster with custom supports?; http://www.shyguyswo...ic,17309.0.html

Thats actually not half bad! Sure it may be the photo editing, but its much better than anything I've seen from RCT3! I wonder if this could win a H2H matchup with a little bit more detailing...

I totally agreen that RCT3 without any custom content is a shit. I played RCT3 for the first time in 2007, and I was disappointed with it. partly for my low-end PC, and with the not refined 3D graphic, I threw my CD like a boomerang :p

Until 2012 I found some great parks in shyguy's world I thought this game can be used to make something great.(only with the help of CSO, CTR, CT, custom billboard and they even have custom sky and custom terrain). From that time I start playing this game for real. I didn't visit shyguy's world for a long time but I remeber a pro RCT3 builder is mostly good at google sketchup and make his own 3D things.

    I want this!

Whilst I probably won't play this game it certainly looks so much fucking better than RCTW.

Anyone else has seen the Reveal Trailer for RCTW by Atari that actually shows in game footage?

It is the worst thing in the world. I'm not even joking, they are making a sequel that looks worse graphically than RCT3. I don't understand how you can make such a step backwards. I'd go as far as saying it looks worse than Theme Park World which is a game released years and years ago. My god Atari, what the fuck are you doing?

I mean I know they've since posted the most recent screenshot of in game work, but still when you compare Frontier's entrance shot and Atari's well, I think it speaks for itself.

I'm actually excited for this game. Those inverted trains are identical to the Giovanola ones, so I wonder if they're going to add older company trains and stuff. I also love the way this was delivered in the trailer, it had charm and cuteness.

lol Planet coaster only  post what RCTW don't have yet: peeps and piece-by-piece building.

And don't forget Frontiers is the one who made RCT3 maybe this is what the real RCT4 should be like.

Cool video on planet coaster development: https://www.youtube....h?v=JOAiH4_Wrc4

  • Cocoa%s's Photo

seems cool! I'm not confident it'll be able to run on my computer but yeah...

  • Six Frags%s's Photo

Looks absolutely amazing and it looks even better than parkitect imo.. I mean only that landscape editor, holy shit, you can create literally anything with it! It seems the coaster editor is also more No Limits style which is a good thing, and the rotating of the walls/scenery pieces is also a big plus.

I'm on the same boat as you cocoa, I also hope my computer will be able to run this..

  • Sephiroth%s's Photo
Looks like between Themeparkitect, NoLimits 2, and now Planet Coaster, we're finally starting to see software packages that truly deliver the real next step in RCT-type games and simulators. I love it. Currently playing around with NL2 and it's absolutely amazing. Super excited to see what this has in store.

Dev diary 3 has been posted a week ago:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=maYufgvcRis

Forget Parkitect etc, this will be the real deal guys. I've read that even some ex-Pixar guys are working on the peep animations, and it shows as they are truly stunning. They also will probably support darkrides, which excites me even more to hear.

Silvarret also commentated on the dev diary 3, which is pretty interesting to me to hear his opinions on it, which I largely agree with.. Even on the coaster builder, that it's simple but really flexible as well..
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hKBPA-AXrE

Just check it out guys, imo this is some amazing stuff, which excites me as much as the time back in the days when rct2 was being revealed :)
