Tabletop RPGs count? I've been nerding out playing DnD recently.

Heck yeah, I've been playing some very casual DnD with some friends and it's quite fun.

A few weeks ago I played Cards Against Humanity for the first time and I thought it was enjoyable.

I love Cards Against Humanity. I've thought about buying it and some of the expansions but we don't have too many friends our age to play it with, and I doubt it would go over so well with my girlfriend's parents...

I now own the Rollercoaster Tycoon board game thanks to Louis! It's actually a lot of fun.

As far as strategy games the only thing that comes to mind is Monopoly. We play that a decent amount.

My step-brother is obsessed with Diplomacy. It sounds interesting but like it takes weeks or months to fully play. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

You can play it in a night, although at 4-6 hours it's going to be the whole night.    Plus (like Risk) there's nothing to do once you're eliminated.  That and the key game mechanic of the negotiation phase is why it turned into a popular play-by-mail thing.  I use Droidippy on android.

Diplomacy is cool and definitely a good candidate for a real friendship ender! Apparently a favorite game of many political figures, Henry Kissinger, among others.

Other boardgames I really enjoy are Battlestar Galactica, which is also a possible friendship ender (though not as much as Diplomacy), and Shogun, which is kind of a Japanese-themed version of Risk, with some additional factors like collecting tax and rice from the provinces you control (which can lead to rebellion). Pandemic is also pretty nice, pretty fast to play too as I remember it!

For sheer psychological drama though I really prefer classics such as chess or mahjong.

I really enjoyed Monopoly as a kid but I find it too predictable these days. I briefly experimented with some changes to the rules involving taxation of rich players etc, it worked quite well to even out the game, but I never arrived at a perfect formula before I got bored of the project and dropped it.

I did all the online tutorials and shit during the alphago hype but also have not played a real game

I considered it but it's one of these games that are so abstract and difficult that I won't get much fun of it guess. So I screwed that thought. Best to get into it would be with a player who's willing to teach.

I love to play Secret Hitler

This sounds like fun. Is it anything like Secret Santa?

I played it a bit a couple of years ago, but I think I've forgotten how to now. It was fun, but challenging.
