I was just wandering what the people here are like in terms of fitness/what they get in certain athletics events? Most of the board seem to me (no offence meant) to be lazy and unfit, but im quite the opposite, and I read in another thread that flame (i think) is quite a good runner.

So what did you, or what are you heading for in your events. In PE i think im on for an A* GCSE because iv got 10's in every event im taking in athletics and I got a 8/9 in football and an 8 in basketball, Plus I sailed through the theory work by getting an A in the mocks. And if I run into difficulties the teacher said I would be able to take skiiing as one of my options and he believes im good enough to get top marks.

And what did you get in the athletics events? heres my list so far :

    Long jump - 5m 50cm
High jump - 1m 55cm - is taller than me.... and im aiming to break the school record of 1.69
    Tripple Jump - 10m 80cm
    100m - 12.5 seconds (urgh i was 'ill' :()
    200m - 26 seconds exactly (i was 'ill' again^)
    400m - 58 seconds
    800 - 2mins 12 seconds
    1500m - 5mins 27 seconds
    Javelin - 23meters
    Shot put - 9 meters
    Discuss - 23 meters
Urm I feel like I've forgot something, oh well. As you can tell im shit at the throwing events 8@ .So yea I was just wandering how everybody else does in PE?

I golf. That's about it now I guess. I should be on the varsity squad for the whole year this year. Last year I jumped around from top of JV to bottom of varsity.

I used to play baseball, but it got to be too much. I would be on 3 teams every year and play so many games. It didn't help my golf swing at all. So I dropped that a few years ago to concentrate on golf in the summertime.

Used to do basketball, but wasn't too good. I'm very short and just didn't have the competitive experience needed to play in a big school like the one I attend.

I did track for two years. My freshmen year (the last year I did it) I placed 2nd in our conference in the 400 meter dash. Finished with a time of 57.3 seconds.

But now I spend my summer walking around a golf course. That's generally a 5-6 mile walk, with a golf bag on my back.

But I'm still lazy. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.

I do weightlifting instead of PE. Everyone in our school athletics have to do weightlifting. Everyone else have the option of either weightlifting, or PE...of course, other high schools in America do it differently, and im sure that European schools do it differently. I used to do baseball and basketball, but I dont anymore.

I play water polo, then do swim team and lift weights when I get around to it. So I'm not an unfit ass, but I'm still lazy as hell. I just enjoy water polo which drives me to swim and lift so I can get better.

I don't play football or anything, I hate running, so I swim and stuff, but not for a team.

I play Tennis for a minimum of three hours a day. I've had to stop because I cracked my ankle, but I usually play for three hours a day.

I play golf. I suck, but I'm getting better.

However, I could kick all your asses at ping-pong.

And that's all I play for sports, unless skateboarding counts.

Currently, I play lacrosse for my high school team. Until this past year, I played baseball, but stopped playing it and picked up lacrosse. I play sandlot tackle football with friends plus basketball in the season.

In High School I use to play basketball and football. I was also on the golf team for a year. Now i just play golf, and I also am part of the curling club. I do lift 6 days a week though..........

i don't have to take PE anymore! (I didn't last year either). But I play basketball, tennis and golf. I snowboard every once and a while too. I'll play almost any sport, but those three are the ones i do regularly.

If you're any good, you call it Table Tennis ;)

    ....
and Foltz, I can't believe someone on these boards actually curls....and not Canadian.

As for me, Basketball, Golf and Hockey (mostly the street variety). I used to play football and volleyball in my younger days. As for golf, I'm a 12 Handicap at present (lowest it's ever been).

I've been told that before. But ping-pong sounds cooler. :)

Also nice to see other golfers my age. You're probably all way better than me.

Go Metal! ... no I only know a couple people that can actually do that...

um... I haven't taken PE is years.. but here's my PR list:

Long Jump: 18ft in 8th grade... 20 or 21 in HS... i dunno thats like 6.4m

    High Jump: 6ft... 1.83m

    40m : 4.5-4.8 sec... i dunno... those are unofficial

Shot Put: it was like 32ft in 6th grade... i didnt measure my throws in HS

Football: how do you measure that?

Baseball: I can only throw like 65-70mph at carnivals.. but I can throw a ball close to 300ft.. i played outfield a lot

Golf: I'm ok.. i guess... i hit my driver up to 280yds (250m) and my 5 iron up to 180yds (160m)

I dunno how accurate any of this is though...

I only really play basketball but i am very good at shoting and odds are no one at these forum can hit more 3s then me  . once i hit 45 out of 80 (i was going for 100 but then the court got to crowded) and have hit 12 NBA range 3s in 1 min at NBA city orlando (only 3 shy of vince carters record their) and i do wight lift i bench a 175 max and leg press a 315 max.
  • Micool%s's Photo

    once i hit 45 out of 80

Never done that much but I once hit like 15 straight. My inside game is shit because I'm short (well average actually but compared to mutant basketball players like irsi I am) and I don't practice, but I can shoot tre's once I get in a rhythm.

I haven't played baseball in a year because my school doesn't have a team but I used to pitch. I never could hit but I could handle a glove pretty well. Now I do soccer and basketball mostly (though there are a lot of things I'd rather be doing then soccer, i.e. magic mountain next tue-wednesday :p). I love all sports even if I can't play all of them well. I haven't tried them all, though, so...

As for track, I probably will never do that competitively. I dunno, track/field and cross country seem like the most boring sports there are to me because you aren't doing anything.

P.S. While we're talking about sports, does anyone else care that the Lakers are turning into the Yankees of the NBA? They should have a thing during the season where they let fans play shooting guard for like 100 grand a night, they'd probably still win. 8@
