Blade Runner and Fight Club both flopped.
Yes, and so did Charlies Angels 2, T3 and LXG! Wow! Actually, Fight Club earned something around 80 million in the US and cost around 60 Million, didn't it? Read that somewhere...
So while it might not have been the expected smash, it did earn back its money in theatres.
Anywho...
Blade Runner is a good enough movie, it just isn't good enough. And Fight Club is brilliant, but simply doesn't hold up after repeat veiwings.
Well, for me it doesn't.
Oh, and about Winged Migration for a moment - I was actually going to see that tonight! Its at this small little government owned theatre, which is just so amazingly brilliant (the theatre obviously, not the government).
But me and my mom passed for Tomb Raider 2, more in our mood and we could actually make that screening! So, yeah...
It runs through the weekend, and perhaps even through next week, so we'll catch it eventually. But I doubt with little kids... the only people who go to this theatre are yuppies and hippies (although, both are more or less identical over here. Most of our yuppies are hippies and most of our hippies are yuppies.) -

according to boxofficemojo
Production Budget: $90 million
Total Gross: $37,030,102
No, it definately flopped like a whale in theaters.
And ugh, no matter the mood, anyone who decides to see Tomb Raider 2 over one of the greatest visual experiences of the past 10 years needs to get their head checked. -

VTD, the screening of Winged Migration was at 7:30, and took place 45 minutes from were we live. The screening of Tomb Raider 2 was at 8:00 at took place 15 minutes from were we live.
It was 7:05 when we looked up the showtimes, and we weren't even ready to leave!
We're probably going to catch it either this weekend or later on next week, anyways. Besides, Tomb Raider 2 was a really fun movie, much more inline with the mood me and my mother were in anyways. -
