RCT Discussion / Old School Spotlights Page

  • Liampie%s's Photo

Every version of NE has its pros and cons. One thing I miss about NE2 and NE3 are the pages for spotlights, blockbusters and designs. Just a list of logos, creating intrigue before you'd see anything of the park itself. Seeing your park on that page just had a sense of importance and achievement NE4 and NE5 can hardly replicate, a true Hall of Fame, though maybe that is just nostalgia goggles. I'm interested in seeing all modern spotlights in a similar setting.

Since the amount of spotlights has increased by quite a bit (currently at 97 in total...), I'm opting for a slightly more compact version, and for now omitting the earlier spotlights.

Awesome work on this! Love to see this old school look with the logos, takes me back, lol

I wasn't around before the current version of the website so this is a really interesting look back into how things used to be at NE. Would be interesting to consider bringing back some of those titles like Blockbuster and the overall pizzazz of the NE2 and NE3 days, not just for nostalgia's sake but as a more dynamic way of presenting releases.

What a great idea! Love seeing all those logos put together

The Washuzan logo is so good.

This is really cool, I also liked how parks/spotlights had more focus on the frontpage in the old days. Just as logos being more important back then, they kinda feel superfluous nowadays. Which is a shame because nice logos are always great to see.

Great stuff, also motivating for anyone to get on this page as well imo.

Washu is great for sure. I really like rob, audrix tower, rocky mountain mystique... so many good ones

This is great, I too really miss looking through the Spotlights page. Certainly an ask, but it would also be great if these linked to their respective parks.

    Time to update this Liam!

Would also love to see all the spotlights have full-scale aerials. I understand it's a lot of work to do that in addition to the regular release aerials and other admin duties, so it's more of a "would be nice to have" versus a demand lol

I believe all RCT2 spotlights have full-size aerials, but the RCTLL ones are more work due to having to manually stitch them together. I had started on some a few years ago but it was slow work.
