Ok. The amount of threads that have been starting saying "my LL doesnt work, help me" are getting sickening so I thought I would right this guide for all the people that have XP and want RCT to work on.

Just follow the simple instructions below step by step and I gurantee your RCT will work.

This should also work for the English version of the game, the only thing that might need changin' would be the patch.

1: Uninstall RCT from your computer, for a fresh start. Do not click "Remove saved games?"

2: Just to make sure everything RCT is gone from your computer go to C:\Program Files\Hasbro Interactive and delete the folder; make sure your saved games are not in that folder.

3:Now that everything is uninstalled we are ready to begin our installation insert the first RCT disc into your CDROM and install how you like it.

4:Follow the installation of the orginal RCT with LL and install to your liking.

5:At this point do NOT install the Drexler Patch as it will make the game unrecongnizable to the offical patch.

6:Download this patch and install it by double clicking it. It is the offical patch and is needed to make the game run under XP

7:After you have installed the offical patch you will want to install the Drexler Patch witch makes it possible to see hacked parks (virtually all the spotlights). The patch can be found here. Install if by double clicking on it just like the offical patch.

8:Restart your computer just incase and boot up RCT and your ready to go! Enjoy.

Yes, there's an XP patch for all languages available. Don't ask me where, find it yourself.
Glitchwolf, well done. Just one note. As far as I know, there are two different versions of the drexler patch. One for Win9x and one for Win2K/XP.
I hope the one you posted here is for XP, is it?
Another thing. In case LL still doesn't work after you've done everything as described above, try launching the game by doubleclicking an SV4 or with LL's autostart.

It may be worth noting that I get an error message every time I run the game from the autostart box but it works fine if I click the link in the start menu. I'm running LL in XP with the official patch and the drexler and other than that it runs fine.

I'm looking for the LL patch in the UK version, not the XP patch. I can find it anywhere.

Adix; the file you posted is corrupted. I downloaded it three times, but Winzip kept telling me it was corrupted or jammed.

If the pictures don't show up, basically the patch can't recognize the game... and the game gets an error trapper... mind you I havent installed the drexler patch.

Sounds like you got the wrong patch.
Find out about the language your LL runs in. Adix hosted the UK one. I suppose you have the US version of LL?
If so, the patch won't be of use for you.
Contact me if you need the other patch.

Okay now that the game works, I keep getting Error Trappers during the game... Know a fix anyone?

i did the instructions, but the drexler patch does not work!!!!!!! i cant see any of the parks, it just says invalid data, even though the patch was installed in order and correctly! thanks for your help

Well yeah, I told of this above already but anyway...
There are different Drexler patches either for 95/98 and 2k/XP.
What OS are you on?

I'm reinstalling LL, but the link you gave above for the official patch for LL/XP is a 'cannot find server' link...

Please help if anyone knows any other means of getting the patch (and I'm assuming the drexler link above is for XP along with the first one).

Thanks, i woulda never figured that out...i was about to post a help me!!! topic, but read this first.

Now, it works, but ONLY if I load the game first, then select the park from a saved game menu. Unfortunately, I never open any of my games like this, usually i open them directly from an AIM window, or from a compressed folder. If I click on the games from windows explorer, it gives me a Invalid Data, but if I load RCT, then select it, it works.

Hmmm.....I have XP and RCT/LL is running fine without that patch.

Btw, gymkid, saved game files only work when the RCT/LL disc is in.

I thought I'd update this once.

I was wrong when I thought that there were different Drexler patches for Win9x and 2k/XP. It seems to be just the same one.
The most important thing is the patch you must install after having installed LL. Also, it'd be better if you choose "full install" when installing because otherwise you can't do this little sweet trick.
I collected the US, UK and DE LL patches so if anyone needs one of those you may contact me.
I sent all the stuff to Adix once so that NE could finally get something like an "equipment" section on the main page but it is seemingly not wanted.
