Ask the Experts / The difference between RCT in Window mode

It seems that everything goes faster when it is in now window mode. The coasters go at a faster speed but at the same mph. If it's in window mode it seems to go slower. The whole game dosen't go slower, but just the coasters and animated things.

Can anyone tell me what this is all about?

In RCT the animations require the most processing power. That's why when you have a park full of peeps the game runs much slower because it has to keep track of all the animations for each peep. It's also why some parks slow down to 1-2 fps when a bunch of peeps are stuck on the edge of the map because there could be a couple hundred peeps in that very small area each with seperate animations. In window mode your computer isn't using as much processor power to run RCT as it does in fullscreen mode because it has to run the windows desktop and any other programs you might have running. The Beast trainer also puts a strain on the game making it run slower. So that's why the animations (specifically coasters) seem a lot slower in window mode. If you want to see a coaster running the way it was intended you should switch to full screen mode. Window mode is good for editing but not for viewing parks (unless they are paused).
