Hmm, Kai, I think I would have left that game off the letdown list as well.
Obviously the loss was a letdown for FSU and for fans of the noles, but every loss is a letdown. FSU wasn't exactly favored highly to win like USC was against Cal or Miami was against Va Tech. Okay Miami/Va Tech was a bad example. But anyway the point is I think he meant games they had no right to lose, and personally I would have put my money on Miami even before the game. -

Screw you and your jokes about the rain.
I'm dumb.
Well what about TCU's near letdown? I thought that one was gonna slip away, that was an amazing finish. -

TCU isn't even worth of holding Miami's jockstraps, let alone USC's or Oklahoma's. -

Heres my picks for today:
#15 Michigan State over #6 Ohio State
#21 Pittsburgh over #5 Virginia Tech
#7 Miami over #17 Tennessee
#10 Iowa over #14 Purdue
#11 Texas over #22 Oklahoma State
As big I am of a VT fan, I'm feeling really uneasy about this game today. Oklahoma, FSU, and LSU will all win easily this week. -

Wow, upset heaven today. Of course I was at my soccer game today so I turned on the radio, and what game were they airing? OU/Texas A&M, of course! Wow, talk about not entertaining...unless you're an Oklahoma fan. Four upsets in the Top 10 though. Nice to see Pitt get a big win. Why can't anyone beat OSU? It's like they know exactly how well they need to play, and they refuse to play any harder! -

But if you are its oh so sweet. The sad part is they first take out the starting QB at the half, 1st string for the fourth, and still have to force themselves to stop from scoring. And to think they have Baylor (who lost ot A&M 73-10) next week, I'm feeling 50+ game number seven for OU. You just gotta love it when the talk turns from best in the nation to best ever on ESPN.OU/Texas A&M, of course! Wow, talk about not entertaining...unless you're an Oklahoma fan.
For other teams less blessed with the overall amazingness of OU this was definintly an interesting day. FSU, Miami, V Tech, and Iowa all go down again, opening the top ten right up. The team I think was most affected by this is Ohio State. If they manage by some grace of God to run it against the schedule they have the very last BCS poll could get interesting. They will move to number three or four in the polls, and over time assuming they win out get massive strength of schedule points and possible quality win points over Michigan, which could be enough to tip a close race in their favor. Basically OSU is right back in this thing as a real contender, but it looks like USC is still in control.
And of course, the highlight of all this is Miami being unquestionably out. Again they proved that Berlin is not exactly a great player, and that the team lost a whole hell of alot with Dorsey gone. Another plus is getting to hear Winslow bitch about the losses, because he just sounds like such a dick. Hand it to him for showing the charachter of the team.
Whatever team you like though, this has been an amazing year with the BCS picture shifting almost every week, and as the final stretch comes its only going to get better with OSU closing with one of the most difficult stretches anyone has had to play all year. LSU, another sugar bowl contender, has a hot ranked Ole Miss in addittion to a struggling but dangerous Arkansas and Alabama team to finish off the year, as well as having to play a conference championship. -

Wow. If Ohio State wins out, they may very well nab the #2 BCS ranking. They'd close out the season winning against Purde and Michigan, a top 20 team and a top 10 team, which would get a lot of points from the voters.
FSU lost. Great. Miami lost. Awesome (Kumba should be banned from posting for another month). Tennesee can win their division, I think. And Iowa lost, though I don't really care about them.
And OU won 77-0. They play Baylor next week, which lost 73-10 to the team OU just shut out today. That projects to a linear score of 150-10. If I'm Baylor, I take the weekend off. Seriously. Do they want to set an NCAA football record for most points given up in a game? Forget hanging half a hundred. Oklahoma might actually hang a hundred (if Stoops wasn't a "gracious" guy... if you can call scoring 77 in 3 quarters gracious).
In the meantime, I'll be rooting for Purdue, and then Michigan if that doesn't work out. -

Damn Rix and his inconsistent gameplay. If he played average, we'd have been in the game. Instead, he's either on fire, or ice cold.
Oh, and here the day started off so well, what with Kumba's team losing...2 in a row. At least we're all out of it (all 3 Florida schools), though I still wanna kick the Crocs' asses.
I guess this year will only be known as the year that Bowden passed Paterno for the all time wins for coaches...and took it for good.
Here's to next year, Rix' last!

Cork, in Stoop's defense in the fourth quarter they did stop scoring. They would get to the three yardline and then start calling plays where the offensive line would fall down basically and the play would be a dive up the middle. So basically they just started turning it over on downs, which has to be insulting for the other team. I don't think he will run it up as much against Baylor, Baylor always sucks. This was a revenge game, just like last week, and thats why he allowed his team to rack up 77 points. -

Yeah the vt pitt game was insanely good...it came down to the last 45 seconds...talk about awesome...In my opinion the acc can have the damn traitors.
And whats up with miami losing to tennesee? thats gonna hurt them bad in rankings.....
And clemson over florida state...ouch.... -

Don't worry, Pyro. I was just having some fun.
I kinda want to see 94-0 in the Baylor game, but we know it'll probably be more like just 52-0. -

so true....but Ohio State has actually improved a good deal on offense the last two games. Its like they have a hard time getting started. The rankings are all about finishing well anyway so it doesnt matter how much you win by...as long as you win, although Ohio State would be higher in the AP polls if they won some games with more style (point spread).
If we win out....and thats a big IF...cuz Im not gonna go Kumba on anyone and say we will....we will be #2 at the end instead of USC (even if they win out too) because our strength of schedule is much higher than USC. We simply play a lot tougher teams.
But seriously....I'm not so sure we want to play Oklahoma...I guess someone will have to

Yea, but I'm still not too keen on their offense. They seem to be rotating so many running backs...who knows what could happen... -

a lot of people aren't keen on their offense...or lack thereof...lol, but Ohio State is a defensive team, they win the games for us most of the time. We dont have a big passing offense, we rely on the run...which brings me to your second comment which makes absolutely no sense to meYea, but I'm still not too keen on their offense. They seem to be rotating so many running backs...who knows what could happen...
We have 2 backs (like most teams) - Lydell Ross and Mo Hall. Brandon Joe is the FB and occasionally gets a carry and other than that...Ira Guilford has seen very limited action (only the games we are ahead and late in the 4th qtr). So...rotating running backs?? Lydell is the main carrier and has been most of the year. -
