I'm ashamed to say it, and I'm trying to quit (you know, cold turkey etc
) but I think I've zeroed myself in on a mixture of Conformitism and Rebeliousnessism. It's pretty pathetic, since they are nearly opposites, but let me give you an example:
After I finished the castle section of Legends of the Loch I was hit with a revalation: if you wanted your work to be respected, it had to be something new and innovative, but it had to be something the people could relate to. Nobody wanted to see buildings that were new and different, they wanted to see buildings they'd already seen before! Of course there were flaws in my analysis of the phenomenon, such as Mala's wide popularity. I ignored this.
The second section of Legends of the Loch turned out well but unimpressive. The fact is, the idea for the section hadn't been that great, but I was going to make tons of impressive stuff, like the recreation of the western mill object. I stuck to my theory however, and the section, in the end, not surprisingly, recieved much more attention and celebration than the Castle section.
"2x2ism" wasn't an issue when I started using it, in fact, it wasn't even considered a style! For a while I refused to use flat roofs on my 2x2 style because I thought they looked stupid in Disney Dreams. I stuck with the style through the Scottish Countryside of Legends of the Loch, through Pleasentville (contest entry), as well as Shape Escape, Animal Superfari, and part of the Candy area of The Happy Place. Yet I was gaining a reputation as the wackiest and most screwed up member of the community, RCT wise.
See, the ideas were my sanctuary. I put every single thought I had into everything I made. The RCT part had become just a place for my ideas - I never considered improving architecture, or coasters, or landscaping, or anything! Everything I made was flat, with a boring coaster, with lame 2x2 architecture.
Then I began the candy area of The Happy Place, and I was hit with my first "epiphany." I accidently raised a piece of land about 8 stories and colored it red. Wow, I thought...it doesn't look to bad. It wasn't easy, I'll tell you, but finally I broke out of my previous mindsets. I'm telling you, when you see the Happy Place, you'll be able to tell in a heartbeat the advancements I made in the making of the park. It's incredible to me.
Yet still I conform. Recently I've been copying a small screen of something Posix made because I consider it the greatest thing I've ever seen in RCT.
Then yesterday, looking at dantheman's Imagi-Nation, I realized something. I don't need to copy anyone! I need to have fun! I need to play RCT for the same reason I used to - because I loved to play!
And so, I have a new:
Funism!
And I shall follow it to a T.

I'm the same as Ed. Not because I'm a bitch about what would grow with what realistically, but what looks good, and somewhat natural. I love landscaping and making all that scenery around the park itself. Hell, I've once planned an entire park full of.. somewhat beautiful scenery. -

I'm told I'm prone to Iconic Engineering.
In general, though, I'm just trying to push the boundaries of theming and architecture using the game's new tools.
RCT2ism, perhaps. -

ADAPT-ISM
At least lately, I am trying to adapt real life themes to amusement parks. I am really trying to focus on atmosphere and making things accurate, while making each theme still feel like it is in a theme park. I guess it is a type of realism, which is focusing on accurate atmosphere.
But not that it matters anyway, I suck. -

Definitely hack-ism.
I love the way hacks help out your park and make it more realistic (yes, you can do realistic things with hacks that the game doesn't provide).
Also, 2 x 2/4 x 4ism comes to mind, as well as adaptism (in a different way) and customism. My buildings only look good when they are many 2 x 2 or 4 x 4 ish buildings combined, and screw you if you think that looks bad (unless you are someone that rates my parks for contests, ill do whatever you say
!) Adaptism is part of hackism. When i see a good hack, i adapt it and try to make it better in my own parks, like the luge machine in egypTopia, one of my favorite hacks (as well as parks) and the infamous trackless coaster. Finally, customism. I couldn't live without TT's wonderful custom scenery. The game's stuff sucks. Plain and simple. Custom stuff is what makes your parks good. (Bless you TT, the god of custom scenery
)
Yes, i do have a lot of isms. Customism is my favorite, it is so fun to say!

Would some of those old DNet spotlights with quad-duelers and crazy scenery and weird structures that reached to the highest heights of insanity be consider surrealist parks, they encompass illogical thought to bring across a more "real" message I woudl think.
never liked surrealism, but just a thought -

Hey now no one said "2x2ism" looks bad. It looks bad in the same way the preset Chris Sawyer coasters look bad, really. They're nice but the color schemes are lameMy buildings only look good when they are many 2 x 2 or 4 x 4 ish buildings combined, and screw you if you think that looks bad
and they make you look lazy. So what if they're better than yours; at least you'd be trying.

A carefully crafted formula...
KaiBuenoism=Experimentalism+Colorism+Pastelism+Realism(.2)+Fantasyism+ScrewingWithYourSensesism^3 (cubed)
In other words, there's only one...
