I think Intamin has some splainin' to do...
Perilous Plunge, death; S:RoS, injury; S:RoS, death; Hydro: death. All rides had the Intamin t-style restraint. -

I always tell my friends, Six Flags sucks, except for Superman.
Clearly, I am right. Superman is just dangerous, now.
More thrilling! -

That's kind of ironic, because at SFMM, we like to say that Superman is the asshole of the park, and it's not an attractive one. It makes irrational amounts of loud noise, it's rarely running, (never running with both trains,) and it gives the least thrill out of any ride, including the merry-go-round.I always tell my friends, Six Flags sucks, except for Superman.

But it goes 100 mph! That has to count for something.
Sure is an ugly bastard, though. Dragster may look like a gargantuan boner protruding from the landscape of Cedar Point's peninsula, but at least it has pretty colors. Superman is just a heaping mass of silver metal. Looks like crap, probably a crap ride, I hate California. -

I saw this on the news tonight. Now Six Flags sucks even more than it did before. Batman is now the only thing worthy of riding there now, considering Superman will probably be closed for some time.
Damnit. This blows. -

I blame the restraints really the 'T' style really does not secure you enough but it also makes the ride fun I still say that SROS at SFDL is one of the best rides because of the freedom of the restraints. -

If this was the first time it has happened, then maybe yes. But the fact that several people have fallen out of Intamin T-bars makes me believe Intamin has a real big problem on their hands. The sad part is they keep passing the buck on the park, continuing to claim rider/operator error, or the guest was too large to ride.I still want to ride it.
I bet the guy was doing something really stupid.
Something needs to happen. And quick. Two fatalities on Intamin rides in 2004 alone, and it is only May. -

Okay, yeah, but you sneeze 100 mph.But it goes 100 mph! That has to count for something.
That's about as exciting. -

That was the fault of the rider. I worked at Knott's last summer. Take my word for it; it was her fault that she fell out.Perilous Plunge, death;
This has nothing to do with the restraints. It was a freak brake glitch, and the injuries were minor.S:RoS, injury;
We'll see how this goes.S:RoS, death;
Apparently, the girl was rather skinny, and her restraints were not properly fitted. Also, apparently, she was in a twisted position trying to calm her brother down when the boat went over the drop. That ride is a lot like PP: you BETTER be hanging on for dear life when you ride it, because those G-forces are EXTREME.Hydro: death.
The restraints have had nothing to do with the accidents, really. It's not like they malfunctioned. They were simply improperly lowered. -

The 'T' style Lap bars suck, on MF at CP i thought i was gona bust my balls hiting 93 mph on that shit, guess falling off would have been worse tho... B&M and arrow got it right with over the sholder, you are not gona fall out with that. if Intamin does not use that coz of a patten or something its bullshit. 'T' style Lap bars are just not as safe. -

I thought I was going to die on Goliath when it went in the tunnel.
And superman is thrilling. Scared me went it took off. -

Last I checked, the restraints on B&M hypers were also T-shaped, with a bit more material at the end and a whole lot more uncomfort. This is why Cedar Point has seatbelts on all their rides. Most commonly referred to as "redundant" safety devices, as they're should never be involved in securing a rider, but are there in case of a problem.The 'T' style Lap bars suck...
... B&M .. got it right ....
'T' style Lap bars are just not as safe.
Very unfortunate someone else had to die on a thrill ride. -

"The man came out of the ride as it hit a curve, according to an eyewitness. The man "started spinning like a Frisbee and hit the rail, bam, and then fell down on the ground," Anthony Arroyo told WFSB-TV of Hartford, Conn."
Got to love how they made the BAM! sounds. -

Over the shoulder restraints suck. I would be pissed if MF or TTD has over the shoulder restraints.The 'T' style Lap bars suck, on MF at CP i thought i was gona bust my balls hiting 93 mph on that shit, guess falling off would have been worse tho... How could it "spin" a 55-yr-old man like a frisbee on to the rail? If it was towards the end of the ride.. it would be going slow to fling him. And against a coaster rail? How could it do that if the train was on top of the rail.
Speaking of restraints.. Mindbender at SFoG has only lapbars and inversions.. and its intamin. Surprising that it doesn't have too many problems.
