Admittedly, I could never do that, but my best friend could school that kid. Play those tunes aren't really considered "difficult" on a piano, blindfolded or not (you should be able to play w/o looking at the keys anyway).

This guy's good all right, but he's not super spectacularly amazing.

trust me, i play my piano for more than 10 years now, and i do know it better than you. that okay? good. then let me tell you that playing without seeing the keyboard (do you say "keyboard" in that context?) is absolutely impossible. usually. but still, the guy can manage. okay. what by far is most difficult about this though, and what you leave totally out of account, are the different rythems. to make your brain coordinate both of your hands properly for rythms of that kind, and i'm especially talking of the "main theme" here, takes ages of practice, unless you're a genius or blessed in which way ever. also, there might exist some fan transcriptions of mario songs for piano but i doubt they are that good. he must have written them beforehand himself, i'm sure.

I'm not saying I could do that, cuz there's no way in hell I could. But my friend can. Granted, he's also unbelievably talented, and the vast majority of piano players could not match up to either my friend or his person here, but my statement stands. It's not "absolutely incredible," just very good.

I saw this a while ago and it's still very impressive. I figured out the Mario theme years ago, and that's pretty tough in itself. I never bothered to learn all the other parts. Anyway, this is still great fun to watch.

now since your friend is so amazingly talented and such a genius as you say, i figure he could play them blindfolded and at a good speed within 3-4 weeks, what do you think? you don't intend to belittle the greatness of your friend which you praised so much before, do you?

i'm afraid they want you to be registered at their site before the torrent runs though, i'm not sure. the video is pretty cool of course. he plays a few additional songs that weren't in the one turtleman posted and the image quality is better as well. no offense, turtleman, if you hadn't posted this in the first place i would neither have searched nor found this other one.

I could never play that. I have problems playing "Ode to Joy." Yes, I suck at piano.

What type of file are the sheets in (besides the BitTorrent file). I've never used Bit Torrent, hence the question. If its' a file I could read w/o some special program, send it to me. For example, if it's just like .jpegs of the sheets, go ahead and send them.

In the mean time, I don't make these sort of boasts for nothing. I'll show him the vid and ask him what he thinks. Maybe I am just overestimating my friend's talents, and he'll come back and tell me that it's actually pretty hard. He does know enough about piano to make an accessment, but on the other hand, maybe he really can school him.

I never said this person was bad; but I've personally seen better (honest fact; no boasting), so obviously, I expressed my feelings.
