Hmm, well according to your dxdiag information, it seems like RCT 3 should run (a few of my specs are lower and it runs). I got a little confused and decided to try finding SOMETHING to help, if possible. With a little (I mean A LITTLE) research, I found this:

No object has been instantiated to handle the pure virtual function call. This error is caused by calling a virtual function in an abstract base class through a pointer that is created by a cast to the type of the derived class, but is actually a pointer to the base class. This can occur when casting from a void* to a pointer to a class when the void* was created during the construction of the base class.

If you can make any sense of that, I hope it might help. I'm not exactly a genius when it comes to computer problems, so I don't know what else to do. Hopefully, someone will know what the problem is...sorry I couldn't be more help.

I get the same problem as Spiderman, except my graphics card is something called an "S3 Graphics ProSavageDDR". I take it that's likely my problem? -

So does that mean, my graphics card isnt good enough? Or my computer? Its odd because No Limits and other 3D stuff runs fine, like GTA:VC...Good luck getting RCT3 to run.

lol not even close mantis. I have the same problem with my laptop, it has no video card! Thats why i have my prettyful desktop (3.2 GHz, 256 MB graphics, 1 Gig RAM) to rely on. RCT3 runs fine. There are options to change the video settings, but iu dont know how this would be possible without first entering the game. According to Atari, the minimum specs are 64 MB video card, 256 MB RAM (for XP), which usually means it needs a fair bit more. There isn't much you could do. Spiderman, you could buy a new Graphics card, but the game would run slow. Mantis, i hate to tell you, but youre just screwed.I get an error too: I get 'out of video memory'. I'm guessing my graphics card isn't good enough?

@ spiderman, RCT3 has a completely different graphics engine than No Limits and msot other 3D games. Because of the ammount of activity that RCT3 tries to convey (all the new stuff thats constantly in motion) Makes it much harder to run than most other 3D games. But its def your graphics card, and possibly your RAM as well. -

Radeons work fine with me. Up-to-date drivers are essential though.GeForce
I've had problems with Radeon so i like GeForce better. Im not saying buy this exact one, just look for something with preferrably 256 MB for under $100. Newegg.com is a great site, so you could look there.
I prefer graphics cards in the 200 euro price class, high performance/price/running all ratio, if I had to buy a new one, be it that i have a 400 euro card (okay that was 10 months ago)
When buying a 3D card you have to keep in mind that the graphics chip is most important
Example: a Radeon 9800pro 128MB is better than a Radeon 9600 256MB. Lots of video memory is nice, but the chip is more important.
I have a Radeon 9800pro and it works very well.
My sister has a Geforce4 MX and I can assure you that you will be dissapointed when running games. Budget cards are only recommend when you really don't have money or if you have to replace one in an older computer just to get it running again. Otherwise also use medium or high budget cards. For games it's the most important hardware of your system!
