    Finally got it working.

The park is fantastic, really. You seriously have architecture and atmosphere down, Meretrix. But, how about taking some time out from building architecture and concentrate more on landscaping (that was the only thing I didn't like)? Bald Mountain certainly could have used a touch up, landscaping-wise.

Apart from that, a really nice park. Great stuff all around.

I also felt that it was lacking the same charm DTA had. :(
    But still, congratulations, man.

Drat! THAT'S what I should have done! Make DSS unopenable! Then more people would comment on it!!!

I found it. It was Squiggle's Diving Bell. The park works for me now. I'll let you know what I think of it when I can get a better look at it.

    Rog :)

  • yeshli2nuts%s's Photo

Unfortunately, mine is just saying invalid data and not giving me a clue as to what is missing :(  I'll have to work on it later tonight.

im in the same situation youre in. at first it said i needed the spider ride so i downloaded it and now it just says invalid data. no one on this site has access to a place where you can upload a 23 MB file? SOMEBODY has to be able to do that and then just upload the whole park and make it a hell of a lot easier for all of us.

Goddamnit. Of course I am out of town when this park is released. Now I have to wait an entire damn week before I can see it.

I wonder where those bandwidth problems came from... ;) :p

k...i need the strat-o-liner.(wtf why would anyone use this ride???)

The problem: i download the file. That is SEStrato.DAT

The game tells me that I need SEStato/00000000003d1210.DAT to work.

I tried renaming the file to the one with all the 0's, but it won't let me add a "/" to the file name.

    I don't get what's so hard.

Just paste the .dat files that came with Phantasia in the .dat folder, open the "Bogus" park, then open the real park. Should work.

If it doesn't, download the rides in Kumba's link, then try the above.

Exactly the way I felt. Something just didn't feel the same...

Even though I don't post a lot here, I really wanted to comment on the park. The park was absolutely beautiful. But, even though the theming was absolutely gorgeous and stunning, I felt like something was missing... Of course it's okay to put thrill rides such as Bald Mountain and Journey to the Centre of the Earth, which I thought were great, I thought that if I visited this park, I would be kinda freaked out. Every Disney park has a dream, and every Disney park has fantasyland, where kids would believe in magic. Even though the theming was Disney-like, the feel wasn't Disney-ish... I really loved Disney's Tilted Acres, because of the atmosphere. It was delightful, but this one was kinda dark, and mysterious, so I didn't really like it.

I know you took a lot of time into this park, and this park is much much much.... better than mine, I still thought that Disney's Tilted Acres was better. Sorry. :'(

Don't rename it, just put it in your object folder.

Thanks MickMaximus; I already found it there just before the bandwidth problems started. I just downloaded every single ride at that site, and it worked.

I thought that some of the park was really good, but I wasn't sure about other parts.
Main Street looked great, and the castle was amazing (although the huge waterfall at the back kind of ruined it a bit).. I liked the small waterfalls at the front though.

Adventure Island (or w/e it's called ;)) was kind of weird - I like it, but I don't know if it's very Disney. I'm not a fan of Abracadabra; could have done with more outside track I think. I loved the walkway to the Indy area, but wasn't sure about the Tarzan part..

Discovery Bay was my favourite part of the park. At first I wasn't sure about it, but I really like the old fashioned vision of the future - it reminds me of DLP's Tommorowland. I especially loved the architecture here with the gold colouring and "wave" roofing made with glass tunnels, as well as some of the overhanging ledges made from glass. And the trams were great as well.

The area behind the castle.. I'm not sure about it; some parts looked really good (the Alice maze), but some parts looked too dark (Mad Tea Party), and I loved the idea of the Nightmare Before Xmas area, which looked fantastic, apart from Bald Mountain. I thought that looked really ugly and stood out a bit.

I also wasn't sure about some of the ugly water features that were around.. especially the one at the park entrance...

All in all though, a very good park; congratulations Meterix :)

^ I disagree about the water features. They were amazing and added alot to the atmosphere!

Thanks for all the comments, good and bad. I said it before, and I'll say it again, this park was an experiment. It was intentionally darker and more brooding. It wasn't meant to emulate the "Disney Magic" that is found in Magic Kingdom parks, but rather the darker side of that magic. I am a little confused about the landscaping on Bald Mountain comments. Has anyone seen the film? That mountain is black and on fire. Oh well, can't please everyone. As for me, I think it was the perfect final RCT2 park to create in my "RCT career". Now I just have to wait until part 3 comes out, so I can begin "Walt Disney's PhantaSEA Kingdom".
