Woow Corky, you really gave me a pleasant afternoon!
I'm a great horror fan to begin with. Especially Lovecraft, Poe, Hamilton and the like are amongst my favorite writers.
The story, the atmosphere of the park, it all really caught me.
First thing I noticed when coming into the park were all those poor peeps. Well, you know Mama Bear, to the rescue of course! lol. I smashed walls, drowned guards in the progress (accidently, I swear :woot: ) and made an escape path to the entrance to let the poor souls free! (The park rating all of a sudden raised like mad, a bad thing for a horror park of course, lol) I'm still running around to find that queen person to let her feel the weight of Mama Bear's discontentment......
    Ok, serious for a while:
Absolutely great story! The language is well thought out and with a bit of knowledge of German, French, and Latin quite understandable.
BTW, do you by any chance play Warhammer? And if so, do you play either Dark Elves or Dark Eldar? There are slight simularities in your story and their "history".
The landscaping, the rides, the architecture and your color palette all added to the atmosphere and made the story come alive!
I agree with Toon: This is one of the most "complete" parks I've ever seen. Everything is so right, so.....(darn....wish you understood dutch, lol). Well I'm sure you'll get my point.
With X250' and cBass' and Xcoaster's parks my favorite! Will spend some more pleasant hours in it and will try to figure out the clue!

Cork, catch me on AIM, i'd like to talk about this, and i'm sure you would too... :)

Basically, it was definitely very well done, but it didn't really appeal to me as much as some of the other parks. I'll explain it more to you when we speak.

corky, listen to x250 and my pm! I'm not gonna post my long reply until you do!

An interesting read. Bit long, but interesting nontheless.

god damnit corkscrewed with your language. i got to the link and i can't understand it enough to go on. >;O

the park, however, was amazing. and the story adds so much to it, unbelievable atmosphere. i think darkjanus' park's atmosphere tops this though, albeit very slightly. i love the woodie, one of my favorites, as well as the mouse ride. the mine ride seemed a little lacking, i dunno. it didn't seem to do very much with the amount of time it was on those damn lift hills. the river ride was also great, despite being undergound a little too long. and, as always, the architecture was immense. high class buildings all around, congrats on that, and on creating such an awesome entry.

also, "And I’m going to look like an idiot if these comments get posted and you don’t get first. So you better." haha, panic.

On 06/06/06 (June 6, 2006) the sun will be between the horns of Zodiac sign Taurus.

Quoted from the Wikipedia Hobbes posted, I think I am going to stay home all day that day. I don't want any Final Destination thingy going on. :huey:

Alright corky. I spent a good hour last night locating all the hints in the park and did find the final clue, but now I'm stuck....looks like tracid, phatage and X250 are all here too....

I'll have to try some translations tonight to see if I can get in.... :D

As for the park, its begun to grow on me with the biggest downfall being the rides spend too much time underground.
  • X250%s's Photo
Nah i've translated it all, its easy enough.. Its basically French lol. You don't need the guide or anything. But the bit I'm stuck on is accessing Cork's site! Even his homepage is down for me!? So frustrating!

yeah i spent a while translating, looking for clues, then i finally opened the web address, and found it unavailable. shucks.

oh well, i just have to say it again: awesome awesome park.

Haven't looked for the magic clues or done the read me yet. I will (I sware) but I haven't had the time or energy for the sort of intense viewing at the moment.

Other than the coasters spending too much time underground things look excellent, though I'm still not sure if it's my favorite so far... Something about you archecture has never been quite right for me either. I have no idea why, it just seems bulky to me somehow.

The atmosphere is superb though and I kinda like how the treeing and landscape worked together to create texture rather than simply being naturalistic.

Yes, the number of the Beast would be in turn the number of the devil, as the devil is the antichrist, aka the Beast.

Pretty freaky shit, but a nice read nontheless.

Awsome ass park, congrats on #2, but yeah that is a bitch of a rank to get.

I really enjoyed the park, its was very nice and filled out the map well. I really liked the woodie coaster, its been years since you have made one and thats a shame coz you really are good at them. The dive coaster was sorta weak layout wise imo, but the theming was great so that makes up for it. All the archy was top notch, great work there and the themeing was good all over. One big gripe for me was the language, that was just over complex, most people will not bother to try and learn it so it makes the park confuseing to most. adding a second version in english would have been a good idea.

Overall I think its the most soild park, so maybe worthy of #1 for that, but it does not really have many fun aspects to it, most of your parks really don't infact, they are all fairly serious and I don't like that very much, I want to have fun in a park more then look around and see an atmospher. I think you could do both have a fun park with a good atmospher, but in this park there is not much fun and I don't think it would be a very enjoyable place to vist, or live in! ;)

Bottom line, maybe the strongest park yet, but not my favorite.

why would the devil be the antichrist? interestingly enough, the very concept of "the devil" isn't even found in the bible. satan is mentioned in a few places, but, as i understand it from reading the bible, he isn't a force of evil, but, rather, a force of good, who does good by testing the goodness of others through temptation. in other words, he leads us astray, but not to make us evil, but, rather, to make us learn from our mistakes so that we can be good, and so that our good can have meaning, which it wouldn't if, you know, we were never tempted to be bad.

    or something like that.

the antichrist, on the other hand, does want to lead us astray. he doesn't do it, though, by tempting us with evil, but, rather, by convincing us to be "good", only what he teaches us is "good", is, actually, evil. in other words, he tries to convince us of the righteousness of evil actions, and most of us are convinced, and those of us who are, uh, die, while those of us who stay true to ourselves, and to our ideals, and who are right, live.

    anyways.

    uh.

    yeah.

i'll have a look at the park tommorrow. sounds very interesting.

The antichrist is a deciever, if you read the whole way through. The devil takes on the form of the antichrist to trick us into believing he is the Lord. He decieves us to percieve him as what he is not. Its pretty confusing but nonetheless interesting.

Also, where did you find that the devil was good? Satan aka "the devil" in the U.S., is the fallen angel, God's once right hand man turned corrupt. Everyone can have their belief system, and I accept that, but from what I grew up with, the devil is perceived as the temptor, the little voice in your head that tells you to do bad things that you know are wrong but do anyways. Its like wether you believe in the darkside (the evil voice) or the lightside (the voice that tells you not to do those things.)

I can understand where your coming from, but how could tempting man to do something wrong, i.e. kill, or steal, be beneficial to mankind? Its like saying, "woops, you killed a man, but I guess you learned your lesson, so I'm going to let you free."

But in this world, is there a Heaven or a Hell? Where do we go to when we die? What were we brought here to do? Anybody could be correct on the whole "what is our purpose in life, where do we come form" thing. It makes my head spin just thinking about it.

Basically, the antichrist tricks us, and Jesus saves our asses and takes us to Heaven.

Edit: I've also heard the anti-christ was the son of the devil.

    go here: http://www.jewishenc...id=270&letter=S

okay, so it is the "jewish encyclopedia", but, it actually covers a wide range of abrahamic texts, including the new testament, and explains quite well exactly why satan is, actually, a servant of god. basically, satan is presented in the bible as a member of god's heavenly court, who does only what god wants him to do. god uses satan to test his subjects devotion to him, by trying to tempt them away from him.

oh, and it also explains other views of him, too. very interesting read.

I believe he was God's right hand man, the guy who passed judgement of man, before he turned "corrupt" or "evil". Basically he was the judge of Heaven. He fell after I believe he killed Job, but I may be wrong. I dunno, its all how you percieve life and religion and the bible.

He was God's Judge before he turned corrupt. I think this was in the Old Testament, but I'm not sure because I don't remember.

thinking about what your saying, i realized you weren't a christian, and neither are most supposed christians, but, rather, a zoroastrian. sure you believe in christ, or whatever, but your view of the world is purely zoroastrian.

oh, and i'm pretty sure that nobody in god's heavenly court has freedom of choice, like us down on earth, and, so, can't "turn" against god. after all, isn't that why god created us? the devotion of his servants was meaningless, so he needed to create truly free beings to worship him because they feel the should, not because they feel they must, and while satan was what made that freedom possible, he himself was not free. or something like that.

really, though, things that have happened to me recently in relationship to spiritual matters have made me realised that all of this is bullshit. i'm debating my concept of what christianity is really all about, but, my concept has gone so far beyond this, to the point of failing to even be christianity anymore. for instance, i believe god is completely good and evil, that satan simply lures us away from our path in life, not nessecarily evil, because our designated path in life may very well be to commit "evil". i also believe that jesus wasn't anymore or less the "son of god" than you or i, and that, actually, there are many instances in the bible were jesus was certainly less-than-perfect (his tantrum in the temple, for instance).

really, though, this is bullshit too. at the moment i don't believe in "god". i believe that the universe has no begining or end, has no order, has no purpose, that we're all a complete fluke, and when we die, we're dead. refreshing, isn't it? looking at life, failing to see the sense, trying to make sense of it, and then, realising, you can't see the sense in it because it isn't there. the universe is just nonsense. sometimes wonderful, sometime horrible, but always nonsense.

of course, corkscrewed probably doesn't want this sort of discussion in here anyways. i'm just undergoing a lot of change right now, and it's fun to work it all out. oh well.

Really, religion is all about how you view the world and how you perceive the world to be. I believe in the right for open and really spirtual thinking, I percieve the world as something not set in stone, as there is no such thing as "fate." Spirtually, I believe there is some kind of force controlling what happens in our lives, what made us the way we are, what made us think the way we do, but I do not believe this force has the power to control what happens in the future, as it wether it be God or something else, put us here to have a purpose, but we do not yet know what this purpose is. *whew*. Anyways, if there is some upper force, then I do not believe it has the power to control what happens in the future, but has a general goal of what it wants us to do.

As for the whole "antichrist theory" I had, I got from the History Channel, same for the devil as God's right hand man and turning corrupt. :p I believe there is such a thing as good or evil beliefs, but really it has no effect on what happens in the future. I'm open to the belief that there are other life forms out there too, and were not the only ones in this expanding universe, as it is simply not possible.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Corky, I believe this will be either carried to another topic, be continued through pm, or stopped altogether.

Cork's out of town at the moment but I personally love discussions of this sort and am in agreement with cg? here since every time I start to really do some research I find that western religion is based more on tradition that fact. More often than not it seems those traditions couter-act the "facts" found in the Bible, which is ironically used as proof for all the beliefs...

Anyway I'm off to scan the read me and actually look over the park in more detail.
